  • Maybe not, but at least we're on the same highway now, and when get into the fast lane to pass Wally's vehicle, we see the passenger seat is empty. That passenger is in our car. And I smile.

we'll be picking 9th anyway so it's not that big a deal...   But seriously, wow...

  • It's nice to be fighting about who fits where instead of what player we should pick off the scrap heap to fill a role.

Interesting... We're second at the table this year...anybody of interest?

@JDunk12: Dartmouth LB/DB @GarrettWaggoner and Central Michigan DB Jarret Chapman (@JarretChap) available in 2015 #CFL Supplemental Draft.

Interesting... We're second at the table this year...anybody of interest?

2nd to the last I believe. So we can outbid the other teams except Ottawa.

Someone said we should be interested in Waggoner. He play S/DB but his size is prototypical CFL MLB. - 5.11 230ish.

EDIT.

I probably mixed up his size earlier from some one else... he's 6.01 - 225.

@JDunk12: @garrettbillan1 Sounds like both Waggoner and Chapman will get selected. Rounds are always hard to predict.

I wonder what we'll be willing to spend on Waggoner.... he looks like a very intriguing prospect!

At his pro day he was 224lbs and ran a 4.56... had a 39.5" vert. and a 10'2" broad jump with 24 reps.

Very fast and explosive.

listed as a SS... same position Ian Wild was.

Yep so even if we bid a 1st rounder there's no guarantee.

I would depend on how they stack up against the 2016 draft class. Is the pick worth keeping compared the talent the guys in the supplement draft.

I'll predict Waggoner goes for a third and Chapman for a fifth.

I think we'll get one of them.

If you don't have 20 minutes to watch the last clip heres a 2 minute one

Good speed, great tackling form and hits a ton- would make a very good free safety in the CFL.

Both were starters in college. Waggoner made 33 starts at Dartmouth plus has pro experience at Detroit Lions camp last year.

Jarret Chapman made 33 starts at Central Michigan over 3 years. Also of interest he has a cousin and a younger brother at CMU. They may be ones to watch in the future.

Mike's prediction of a 3rd and 5th getting these guys is probably pretty fair. Next year's draft looks to be fairly good and with these new rules over who's eligible it could continue in this form for several seasons.

If we're going to get one I hope it's Waggoner! chapman does not look very impressive at all.

For the less informed (like me) can someone explain the supplemental draft?  How does a player become eligible for it?  Why weren't they on the regular draft.  Stuff like that.  I think I have an idea on how the picking goes, but I'm clueless as to how these people end up there.

Yep, after doing some research and watching his video, definitely hope we go after Waggoner. If it's true that we pick second last in each round, we might need to give up a 2nd rounder next year to get him.

The players who are in the supplemental draft weren't able to prove they qualified as a national in time for the main draft.

Much obliged, m'Lady

Ivy League is hard to judge through highlight videos IMO.  That whole video looks like it is in slow motion and the QB's are terrible passers.  Hopefully they have some intel or are able to work him out.

I think Waggoner would be a legit NI WLB. Looks like he could make a good safety as well but I think I'd want him closer to the LOS

Agreed. He reminds me of Sam Hurl with a little bit of Johnny Sears. But like JBR says, it's tough to tell for sure from the videos if he's playing against lesser competition.

@DuaneFordeTSN: #CFL Supplemental Draft is Wed.- includes DBs Garrett Waggoner (Dartmouth) & Jarret Chapman (CMU). Best Supplemental Draft class since 2011.

Was 2011 the year with Poblah and Laurent?

yup

I don't get the impression these guys are at that level, but they're better than most lately. Especially Waggoner.

yes it would be hard to top Kito Poblah all right.  His career so far has been Etienne-esque...

Count me in on the band waggoner...

@DuaneFordeTSN: .@nsawatzky Waggoner is a good enough #CFL prospect that he was on BC's neg list as an international before he became a Canadian citizen.

That says something.
