Not a country music fan at all, but Chris Stapleton coming to Winnipeg as the only Canadian stop on his tour is pretty cool. That guy has one of the best voices in music, IMO.

  • By most accounts that I've seen, he was a democrat.  He was loud and proud about his patriotism, but he was less conservative than most people thought.

oh yeah and look at what they posted video wise

Wow, a recording by Hal Lone Pine, former Winnipegger and father to Lenny Breau.  Randy Bachman has many stories to tell about growing up down the street from Breau when he was a teenager, and receiving informal guitar lessons in trade for hamburgers, you can clearly hear his influence in jazzier songs like "Blue Collar".

This song is from 1950 and Lenny was born in 1941, he was a boy genius guitarist, but this may be from before he joined the family band.

Gregory Alan Isakov filling in for Orville Peck at the FolkFest is a huge win for me.

Firing these guys at rhe height of his popularity was a huge mistake.

The Elton John Band: “Philadelphia Freedom” (1975) - Progrography

Did the whole FolkFest (including camping in the festival campground) for the first time.  What an amazing experience with more great music and performers than I could believe.  Really wondering why I hadn't done it before.

Can't believe Charley Crockett evaded my radar prior, but his set absolutely blew me away.  Now this is country music!

Under the "the best (my favorite) song I've never heard before, Sunny War with No Reason:

She is a brilliant guitar player.

the most random thing ever

Anyone heard of the "super group" called the company band? The singer from clutch and musicians from cky I think?

Maybe bam margeras brother. Anyway it's out of my wheel house a bit, but I'm found myself digging the really dirty, almost blusey rock song.

Sounds just as bad as it did half a century ago. I used to frantically change stations whenever that damned song came on.

Next time you're in NYC and avoiding gutter rats you might want to check out...

While no solidified dates have been set just yet, Green Day dropped the news at a secret show in Las Vegas on Thursday night (October 19) that they'll be hitting the road with The Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid, and The Linda Lindas in 2024.

God, 15 year old me would lose his **** at a Green Day/Pumpkins double bill....

Agreed with you, but that would have been 30 year old me.

God I'm getting old...

15 year old me would have been The Clash/The Jam or Willie & Waylon.
