The TV Thread

Second season of Orange is the New Black launched today.

Anyone else into this?

I have to admit to being a bit of a TV/movie-phile.  I generally buy Blu-Rays when there's a movie I want to see rather than just watching it on PPV or In-demand (I like to collect).

Premium TV has really been leading a creative resurgence in recent years, probably dating back to The Sopranos.  Its nice that Netflix has become a legitimate competitor for HBO (which puts out some really great shows like Sopranos, Deadwood, Boardwalk Empire, True Blood etc).

House of Cards was tremendous.

While cable channels like AMC are getting in on the act, I annoys me a bit.  The Walking Dead would be so much better on Netflix or HBO where they could truly appeal to adults (HBO passed on The Walking Dead when Thomas Jane was attached).

As for Orange, it took me a few episodes to get into last season but Im looking forward to banging out a few episodes tonight.

As an aside, for you Trekies, it was recently the 20th anniversary of the finale of TNG, one of the best Series' Finales in TV history.

Not sure if I've posted about this yet, but "Shrinking" with Jason Segel and Harrison Ford is pretty good. It's not quite Lasso good, but it's really good. I think there's 4 eps so far...

That's because there is only 3 episodes so far. LOL

Fourth one comes out on Friday.

Watched episode 4 tonight, just keeps getting better.

One of my favourite genres is British crime dramas with, Line of Duty (Netflix) being my all time favourite. Started season 2 of The Capture (Amazon Prime) this weekend and am really enjoying it.

That would depend on which one of the two you were.

Been watching shrinking. It's good tv. Not mind blowing but I'm enjoying it.

Ford Is so good in those grumpy old man roles

so good to have Christa Miller and Ted McGinley back on TV again. Always loved the both of them on Drew Carey and Married With Children, respectively...

is Shrinking produced or created by Bill Lawrence?

The next three SNL guests

I just plowed through season 1 of The Outlaws on Prime starring Christopher Walker and Stephen Merchant. I can't wait to dive into season 2.

Only other decent gig he had was on “e.r.” For 3 seasons at the end of it’s run.

right I kind of forgotten about that, didn't he replace John Leguizamo? (he lasted like one season)

I think Leguizamo was always intended to be a temporary character arc rather than a series regular. I stopped watching regularly after they killed off the Mark Greene character. Caught the last few episodes of the final season. Stamos was the new “Clooney”, or more accurately the newest “Clooney” after Goran Visnich’s “Luka” left.

RIP Mark Greene...very sad :(

😭😭😭😭

my inner late 90s-early 2000s kid just got punched in the gut, I know it hasn't been watchable ever since Corus bought it but this still hurts.....but there is a silver lining...that is if Boomerang actually is going to be airing old stuff

I actually found this on twitter, now how do I put this on a quilt? (no I will not identify all of them because  the bottom is mostly late aughts, early 10's most of which I didn't watch)

Slowly losing MuchMoreMusic was painful, losing Teletoon is going to hurt...and now all of a sudden I don't think I want Hallmark or VH1 that badly
