They rotate a bit but it’s probably Vaval Lawson and Willie or Vaughters. I know. Not Jake. And that’s cuz with Jake I don’t expect him to make a difference. I expect the ends to make the difference and they haven’t. I think tho it’s really CBs Safety and DL in general. But I mean maybe it’s scheme there if regardless who are corners are we get burned. Likely combination if your DT made a difference...or any minimal impact...it reverberates to the ends...and other DT...the teams who's ends eat...have a DT or nose who are collapsing the pocket...and sending the QB right into them When WJ...Jeffcoat....the Hansen Kingbo rotation was feasting and causing havoc...They had Nevis...Stove...Sayles....guys of that ilk causing issues inside SpeedFlex27, JohnnyAbonny, BigBlueFanatic and 1 other 1 3

Let's say bottom 3 starters on O and D... go... What intrigues me about this conversation is some say don’t get in a tizzy about players like JT way down the totem pole of importance, focus more on your top 10-15 players. I get that in the sense that your team is as good as your top 5 players are. If my 5 best players play better than your top five best players, I will usually win. However what i’m also hearing is we have a serious problem pressuring the opposition QB and protecting our own QB. So in terms of our trenches, specifically on the D side, should not our starting NT (knowing it’s not the only positional D issue on this team e.g WJ floating around freelancing with little impact) be in our top 10-15 best players? Might it be something we invest in more knowing it may take away from another area? Just a thought from an armchair pretend GM.
rebusrankin Posted 15 hours ago Report Posted 15 hours ago O-Kolo, Mitchell, Wallace or Neufeld D-Vaughters, Vaval, D.Lawson Jake as well. A better question is to me outside of Demski, Brady, Pokey on offense and Nichols and Holm on D, is there anybody else on our roster other teams would start? Want? Goalie 1

Want? Depends what team. Maybe Randolph or Vanterpool on O for a team only missing one piece on their line. I’m sure BC for one would take Person, Wilson, Woodbey or J. Jones on D. Griffin would probably fit in somewhere too. Cam Lawson would probably do really well on a team with a 4 man front. I’m sure a couple our ST or developmental linebackers could improve coverage on another team (or maybe even take reps!), About the one thing we have this year that’s top-tier is the kick/punt coverage.
Mark H. Posted 15 hours ago Report Posted 15 hours ago I'm sure there are teams who would take Kramdi. Rotate or start at WIL. rebusrankin, Noeller and Piggy 1 2 1
rebusrankin Posted 14 hours ago Report Posted 14 hours ago Good points and I was likely a little harsh, my overall thought was that our roster needs work and we don't really have as many standouts as you would like.

Agree we have very few standout stars. We’ve got a lot of good complementary pieces but lack big time playmakers. In some cases it’s talent and some cases it’s scheme. That’s the thing about the team this year, there’s not just one glaring need holding them back. There’s one problem or another at every position group besides RB. Coaching problems, talent not up to snuff, front office issues, injuries, poor roster use. Every factor that can make the wheels fall off is hitting us at once. rebusrankin 1
rebusrankin Posted 12 hours ago Report Posted 12 hours ago I mean in 2019 and 2021, you have Jefferson, Jeffcoat and Biggie who were studs on D. Nichols and Alford were studs on D in 2021. Alexander too. On offense, Harris was a stud both years. Lawler and Zach were in 2021 and I'm likely missing people I should be listing.

SpeedFlex27 Posted 6 hours ago Report Posted 6 hours ago (edited) The biggest issue to me are both lines. Offensively, It's time for Stan to call it a career. Unless his play is as good or better than someone 10 years younger than he is he needs to retire. There's no way a Tackle approaching 40 can play as well as he did when he was 30. Kolo is a liability at Center. The next guy who can go. He can still be on the roster but as a depth player but not as a starter. He should be chained to the bench with a lock & key & someone drops his helmet in the Red River. Certainly, we know that there are veteran Centers out there available in free agency & we have to sign one of them. I think Neuf can still play but I'm on the fence with him. As has been said, he's one helluva tough player & we need that kind of nastiness out of our guys on the OL. Defensively, we have wasted Willie Jefferson over the past 3 years with the shitty Canadians that play beside him like Thomas. We've neutered what greatness he may have had early in his career with the Bombers when Nevis, Stove & Kongbo caused interior chaos on opposing OL's. Now, it may not be worth it anymore to keep him because of his age & salary after this season. What a bloody waste. The Bombers are the only team I know who deliberately weakened themselves defensively by never replacing someone like Stove, Nevis & Kongbo. Vaughters the same as he gets no help either. It's hard to criticize Vaughters & Jefferson when they have such dreadful Tackles beside them whether it's a 3 or 4 man front. Improve the DL & watch the linebackers & secondary flourish once more. And we'll shave at least 100 points off of our points against. Edited 2 hours ago by SpeedFlex27 Bigblue204 and Goalie 2
