That penalty was weak.

Pretty marginal hold.  He drives the guy down.  Hands are inside and on shoulder pad driving him down.  Clercius has good position and keeps his feet driving.  Basically a textbook open field block in a situation like that.  You are allowed to put hands on defenders.

That was not a hold.  Clercius should NOT have had a hand on the Lions players back but that was not a hold.

I get that’s a hold, but if he laid a hit that’d be a bigger penalty. Shouldn’t incentivize defenders to turn back to blockers. Big Kev didn’t have a better play to make.

Hand was on outside of shoulder pad and he drove through.  If he stopped his feet it would have been a hold.  Ref maybe anticipated a bit on that.
