After that game, you could see that the Big Blue had a solid chance. Calgary players, BLM included, straight out said it. My reference is mostly to the media / talking heads being unable or unwilling to see it, after that game. we had a fighting chance, against the favoured ti cats. Hammy had a great team that year. They just weren’t clutch and didn’t have that ability to fight through adversity. the 19 bombers had all the character, drive and work ethic in the world. That 19 cats team wins 9 times out of 10 if not playing 19/21 bombers.

I walked into the stadium more confident than I had in awhile, for sure. We were on a mission... A team of destiny that year. Not me! Most nervous I can recall ever being for a game. We had played soo soft before that people were losing their minds. 100%, the game was won in the trenches, and with physicality. Drake Nevis has become maybe the most slept on guy from that 19 win. Early, when he and Stove played together, it was a mauling. Then we switched to more and more cheetah with WJ, JJ, Hansen, and Kongbo and the cats couldn't keep up. Even the 30 cheetah we ran with wj on the nose, flanked by JJ and kongbo was vicious. It's a shame Craig Roh didn't get to dress for that game. He is another slept-on guy who is likely responsible for more of our DL success in that era than most would ever know. He was one of the best minds when it came to DL technique, pass rushing moves, and front play we've seen up here. His camps and books were extraordinary in their quality, he would've been one of the best DL coaches in the era. F%%^ cancer. Roh passed away a few years ago.

I started with a shot of Gimli whiskey down at a pub in Inglewood, and then found a case of Neepawa Farmery (we were DESPERATE, okay???) so I was super calm the whole day... When BA picked off that pass on the second series... It fit my narrative.

Goalie Posted Thursday at 02:41 PM Report Posted Thursday at 02:41 PM (edited) I knew we’d win the grey cup against Hamilton cuz it was my daughter’s birthday and we went to watch a movie while the game was on. Cuz birthday. I remember just having this feeling the whole time like damn the streak is over and sure enough got out and it was. I preferred beating Hamilton in Hamilton tho. I remember tsn pretty much crying and the stadium just in absolute shock. It might be the greatest sports moment in Winnipeg history honestly. We crushed the city of Hamilton tsn and the Ticats hopes that game and they haven’t really recovered since honestly. They look ok this year beating up on 2nd string QBs pretty much. But, they still feeling that crushing loss. They also now have the longest GC drought. Edited Thursday at 02:45 PM by Goalie

ShyGuy Posted Thursday at 07:07 PM Report Posted Thursday at 07:07 PM Dru Brown shut down for the season now too. Not sure why you would turn your team over from a 28 year old QB you have signed next year who doesn't appear to be injured but has struggled this year and probably needs to work through some stuff to someone who is going to be a free agent but Ottawa gonna Ottawa I guess rebusrankin 1

See if they can off load Dru in the off season. Could very well see 1 or 2 qbs retire in the off season. Edmonton might be in the market for a qb. TO as well.

Tracker Posted 14 hours ago Report Posted 14 hours ago (edited) I apologize but my time as a paramedic and medical social worker has given me a macabre sense of humour shared by many in that field, including cops. It is a way of denying the horrors we saw. BTW: an 81mg aspirin taken once daily, prefereably at night, reduces heart attacks by nearly 50% and colon cancer by over 60%. ShyGuy Posted 10 hours ago Report Posted 10 hours ago The Craig Roh thing always seemed incredibly sad to me. It is my understanding that Colon cancer is pretty slow as far as cancers go, to go from being on a pro roster in 2021 to diagnosed with Stage IV cancer in 2022 is a pretty rough turn around. Colon cancer specifically is hard to screen for in younger people and not really on most peoples radar until 45+. I wonder if anything in a teams medical would possibly flag anything like that.
