His administration had to deal with the worst terrorist attack in history on the US soil in 2001. It really was more of an act of war. Would you expect Cheney to be anything less than ruthless?

My son Tyler texted me this morning about the shooting of a former college coach at Laney College in Oakland, California. He was very upset & was questioning what is happening to society. He said "John Beam was killed". At first, I didn't know who John Beam was & then it hit me.... The Head Coach from Laney College! Tyler played against Beam & Laney College when he was at College Of The Siskiyous in 2011 & 12 as they were in the same conference.

Beam saw Tyler throw at a private qb workout on the field at Laney College back in 2011. He talked about him attending Laney College but Oakland is an economically depressed city & the campus at Laney is right in the middle of that urbal blight. It's a dangerous place. Poverty, homelessness, drug use & crime was & still is very high right around the campus. Even though the stadium had lights, the workouts would always end before it got dark as the coaches running the workout were worried about the safety of people as well as themselves walking back to their parked vehicles after dark.

At one of the workouts at Laney, the police came into the stadium to clear out people living in tents under the stands. Laney doesn't have campus residences so we'd have to have found somewhere for Tyler to live in the Hood,  No way he was going there.

Then Tyler saw the Netflix series last Chance U, a decade after those workouts that featured John Beam & Laney College in 2020. He saw what kind of coach & leader that he was. Nearly 40 of his former players made it to the NFL. He not only won at Laney but was one of the most successful high school head coaches in the Bay Area for many years. He was a legend. When he found out Beam was shot dead, I could tell he was very upset.

Rest In Peace, John Beam. For everything you did for others, you didn't deserve what happened to you. What a shitty world we live in.
