By that you mean a guy who's ceiling is a 3 RHD? No cuz Gawanke sucks defensively,  like clueless. 40 points but on for more goals against.  One of those. Who would Kovacevic or Gawanke beat out here? Certainly not pionk Schmidt or Demelo  I liked JK, solid human on and off the ice, legit humble good dude. I'm happy he got a chance with a shitty rebuilding team. Good for you Kovy. But Gawanke? Man dude isn't nhl Calibre, kovy is strong defensively,  he worked as a 3 rhd on a rebuilding team but neither him nor Gawanke are starting d for contenders

Anyone check out the prospects at the week long camp last week? 

Solomonsson is what an nhl d looks like at 18 19. Believe he turns 19 in February.  Dude is a future Jet. Danny Zhilkin, defensively strong 2 way center looks like a player, rw Nikita Chibrikov looks like a steal. Rutger oozes personality, genuine personality, and looks like once he's in front of the net,  he's not moving. Barlow looks like all their dads.  Lambert is lambert. Lucius looks good to if he can stay healthy.  Good times coming 

As pretty much always, Chevy drafted well... There's good times coming for sure. We also have both the OHL and WHL goalies of the year, and a couple interesting Euros as well. Might be dark in the short term but brighter days aren't far off.

Big loss for Sabres fans and the hockey world in general.  Listened to many of his calls on Centre Ice before Jets returned as the Sabres had became my adopted team.   RIP RJ!
