there's gotta be a place big enough in Winnipeg to hold the draft, and god forbit the exhibition grounds is too far away to hold an all-star fest (I don't think TNS is big enough)

I believe we were supposed to host the 1997 Draft but the Jets moved to Phoenix so that was cancelled. I doubt if we ever hold an All Star game. Who really wants to come to Winnipeg in late January??

that contract takes The Hyphen to the end of his career. 5 mil per seems about right for him. He's a quality 2nd line guy, and can play 1st line wing when needed.

The NHL has told them all to shut up. That's who they are. 

 

Good deal today but will have to carry him through the second half of that contract. $5 is a good AAV for 4 or 5 years.

I live just south of Red Deer, where he played his final year of Junior. We went to see him in playoffs against Medicine Hat spring of 2011...prior to his draft... He came better than advertised. Definitely consensus #1 pick. But always thought the double last name was odd. So right from that night it was "The Hyphen" or just "Hyphen" ha ha. Alwsys thought Nuge was a super lazy nickname. Be more creative than that...

I'm no fan of Chevy but until he is actually accused of something I'm not going to cast aspersions on his character over some nutbar perverted coach & what Chevy knows or is supposed to have known.

Which, as a part time Oilers fan, I'm okay with... Depending on the price. If it was Neal and Koskinen and Chi retains some salary (I've heard varying versions of this) then I'm okay with it, but you can't take on the full salary and you can't give up any of your young D (Bear, Bouchard and Broberg all off limits...)
