Covid-19

I'm starting this thread as a side discussion of all things Corona Virus related. I understand that this is going to be discussed in almost all other topic threads but we could collect news and other items here.

At work, many conferences have been cancelled.

NBA - Suspended.

NHL - About to be suspended.

NCAA March Madness - Playing - no crowd.

Political Rallies have been cancelled.

Travel bans.

Rita Wilson and Tom Hanks tested positive. They're in Australia where testing is available. If they were in the US, they wouldn't have been tested.

Big, big number again today.

I bet some of it is due to a backlog but I'm hearing over 900. I really hope my sources are wrong.

So far, the school closure hasn't happened, so my sources were incorrect there. Although, I suspect that was the recommendation, which may have been disregarded.

We still need a facepalm reaction.

And the Pallister government still has not hired back all the nurses they laid off over the past few years. Nurses and housekeeping staff have been forced to work part-time at several different places to survive, making the transmission of infections almost inevitable.

I was clearly wrong about the number. Sorry, if it caused anyone concern. Last time I heard from the same source it was the first time we had over 400 and they were correct.

It's still ridiculously high but not double what we see.

I'll take "What is a Smooth Brain?" for 400, Alex.

A slight adjustment to the school calendar today - the 3 PD days that had been removed were added again - two before Christmas & one after Christmas.  So, at least there'll be less traffic in schools on those days.
