NFL thread

Surprised there isn't a thread dedicated to NFL discussion...I will start it off:

how about that Myles Garrett helmet swinging from last night??  It's all over social media if you haven't seen it.  Can't see him playing again this season.

Bad bunny was the most entertaining part by far. What a boring game. The Super Bowl generally is terrible tho.

I just think it’s funny that with 7 minutes left in quarter 1, collingsworth is like If the patriots don’t make a first down here this could be the game. Cuz Seattle was about to make it 9 0. Imagine hearing that in the cfl lol.

This is true. But what is a Superbowl?

Seahawks D clamped down hard. Was fun to watch being the nerdy D fan that I am. Was hoping for a shutout to make history.

Seahawks feel like a great team us CFL fans could adopt as our own. Love their shout out to our 12 approach with their fans.

Game felt a lot like our 2019 GC win. Darnold scrambling like a young Zach. Defense was huge. Offense did just enough and the kicker made a ton of FGs.

Half Time show was spectacular. It was like a mini musical or an opera. BBs music is not for me, but I really appreciated what they were going for... And Gaga and Ricky Martin were fab as always.

The half time show looked so cheap this year? Usually they have eloborate sets and big dance numbers and this felt very very cheap. Also a tonne of lip synching and the music itself was a big meh. It felt like I was listening to a DJ at the pool bar when I'm in Mexico lol. It didn't feel like a big show to me.

I thought it was quite the dance show, as for the elaborate sets i think that had a lot to do with it being open air. Rhianna couldnt do her act in this stadium.

It's been lip synced for decades now(NFL rules) but i found this year to be off like an old Japanese movie D

Ricky Martin was singing live same with Gaga, it's not all lip synched.

I just thought the show was boring and cheaply made. I also LOL'd at the fools who paid big bucks for prime seats only to see this:

I kind of saw it as a live Music Video.

And don't forget the Seahawks punter, he had a real good game. And I really dig the Puerto Rican and Caribbean culture especially after the half time show.

hmm I wonder what will have the post-game slot, I'll be it will either be American Idol, one of the Bachelor Nation Shows, or one of the 911s (give me a reason to stay up for the whole thing) (for context next years game is going to air on ABC in the US)

Wise men from far & wide have asked that question for many, many years. It is a question that will be studied by scholars for time in memorial.

So, you just realized there was Spanish culture because Bad Bunny made it hip. Like, it didn't mean anything before?? It wasn't cool. I'm not into Bad Bunny's music. I had no problem being all in Spanish except it was very boring. I had no idea what the context of the props were about other than the sugar cane field as I couldn't understand the words. I guess he was singing about Puerto Rico. Personally, I didn't care for the halftime show. But I'm 70. I'm not 25 or 46 pretending to be hip. I'm as cool as Bob Hope or Dean Martin. And my music is decades old anyway. They weren't going after me anyway. My target demographic ended in 1990.

If you read my sentence i said the dig the culture (and a whole slew of other cultures because of I love diversity and learning of others) not oh I now dig the culture because of Bad Bunny.

He just reminded me of why I dig it. :)

After the show I dug into some of those follow up pieces that explained what every part of the show meant and it was so neat to learn it all.

Our parade is gonna be a doozy. A million people coming downtown..

I have heard it said that "We Didn't Start The Fire" was the final boomer pop song.

I did the same - I got a lot of the references but not everything so I looked into it. I've never once listened to his music so might not be part of the target audience and it's not going to make me go out of my way to listen to him but I appreciated the opportunity to see/learn something new. They could have done much worse (and have) so I had zero problems with the half time show.
