World Politics

I wasn't sure where this Israel, Iran and China debacle should go, so I thought I would start a new thread and post it here:

Interesting article disusing Israel's actions in trying to destabilize Iran and how it monumentally backfired and brought China into the Middle East... it's kind of crazy

"To the extent that Netanyahu played a role here, his plot has backfired monumentally. If the China deal goes through, Iran is much strengthened and its hard liners are entirely unleashed. The positioning of Chinese security forces in Iran will make it increasingly risky for other countries such as Israel or the US to strike Iran, lest they come into conflict with nuclear-armed China."

That's British pounds- nearly $200,000 Cdn. And she doesn't have to do anything for it.  Helluva payday.

Putin has one more card to play. He is trying to get his lackey in Belarus to attack Ukraine and this divert  Ukrainian troops away from their steady advance in the east and south. Putin still hopes to prevent the loss of Crimea. His current strategy is to destroy as much Ukrainian infrastructure- electricity, gas, water, sewage and telecommunications. The fight is not going well for Putin's troops. Apparently the Russian army is losing 6.5 soldiers for every Ukrainian casualty, and Russian soldiers are deserting in large numbers, often bringing their armoured vehicles and arms, and many abandoning everything when retreating.

This is all surreal with the amount of daily carnage and loss of life in the Ukraine mixed with the ongoing onslaught of ugly people from the inside out reeking havoc here and in the States.

I am an optimist by nature, but the current state of the world does have me wondering on occasion if humans deserve to exist in this world. I am working to not allow this to poison my outlook as consciousness theory and quantum mechanics strongly suggest that our consciousnesses affect the reality we live in. Thus we need all the happy we can get.

For those that think that Trump will never be POTUS again it seems that the idiot is odds on favourite to become the English PM again

The British media is reporting that about a half-dozen Conservative MPs have threatened to resign, triggering byelections and threatening the Conservative majority in parliament if Johnson returns as party leader.

It's important to pay just as much attention to what views are from around the world when it comes to a war like this because of how much propaganda exists at a time of war.

There should be a vote of non-confidence immediately to let the voters decide. It's such a mess. All self-inflicted wounds because they put in a populist gov't. They deserve what they get, just like the US, just like Alberta.

So you're still on the "Trump is a pacifist" line of reasoning eh?

Could Trump end the war? Sure by giving Russia everything they want. But is that the kind of end you want to see? Capitulate to a blood thirsty dictator?

At least Trump was well paid to be a Russian puppet, what's your excuse?

No. Orban is stain on humanity, much like Putin and Trump.

Please. let's hear more from the fascists. Yes, that's what's missing.

******* fascists. Disgusting that so many people are yearning for that.

I don't think people are yearning for fascism. There's actually a big movement in Canada for more personal freedoms.

HA! No, there isn't. There's a movement for living without responsibility.

Jokes aside. Literally what is being fought for is an expansion of personal rights.  Or at the very least a return to the normal rights that people used to have in this country. Wacko's exist.  No doubt about that but absolutely everything would be painted by wacko's if all positions were defined by the character of the dumbest person who supports them. There are of coarse wacko's who actually believe that the vaccines were killing people in large numbers. But there's a large segment of the population that actually have some level of empathy for those who were not privalaged with the same level of intellect as you or I and feel that people should not be punished for making a medical choice beyond the punishment of the natural consequences they will face for making that decision.

No one is joking. We're just living this "freedumb" nightmare. It's not at all about personal rights. It's about their own, selfish position. They want personal freedom at the expense of everyone else's freedom. They're fine to trade.
