Weird

Call me suspicious still.

I don't think there's any real surprise that Buff values quality of life over money. This is not a guy who has ever given the impression that he's only in it for the cash.

Other then that last contract :) Course the way the Jets threw money at Little...

Buff's time with the Jets is over and people are left wondering why, he may in the future tell the hockey world but I wouldn't hold  my breath

I dunno...he turned down more money from LA so he could stay in Wpg. You gonna tell me we overpayed for Buff?

The only thing that makes me wonder is why he just didn’t put in his retirement papers.  He could walk away without all the drama.

I somewhat suspect he wasn’t ready to say he was done forever.  Maybe just this past season.   Maybe more. And the jets couldn’t operate like that.

7 million in cap space now.

Gonna be interesting to see what the cap is going to be the next couple of years with such a drop in revenue.  Players will be escrowed to death.

So buff unsure if he wants to play. Fine with being suspended while he thinks about it.  Agent gets involved and suddenly there is a lingering ankle injury and buff wants to play again.

I think we can see what happened.

Do we have a list of UFA that they can sign to replace him?

I wonder if he was paid at all. Suspended yes but it might have been part of the contract cancellation.

Chevy said no money at all.

I know I've posted this before, but I'm bored and staring out the window of my office...... if I could have any life in the world....like, if I won Lotto Max and could do anything.....I would live the life Buff has right now. Like, no question. Brand new house at Oak Bluff, cottage on LOTW, nicest fishing boat money can buy......done. It's all I want in life.

50 million career earnings. Is it enough.

Anyway for Noeller...

I thank Buff for the years of entertainment. While playing he was my fav Jet 2.0. It’s not my business why he walked away however if he signs with another team In short order I will be curious in why he didn’t want to play with us anymore.

I've seem some people in MIN wanting him and i'm thinking they already are one of the oldest teams in the league and they want a 35yr old who has not skated hard for a year?

Only teams that should be putting an offer forward are ones where there are no lakes for 300 miles.

He'll only play for Minnesota....I fully believe that. It's them or nothing.

If true, then the "I like fishing and want more time with my young family' reason wouldn't completely make sense to me.

Because whether its playing here or with the Wild, his hockey commitment would remain the same, taking away time from his fishing/family.

Again, none of my business and we are just chatting here but if he signs with another team in the near future you'd think it's more than just wanting to be closer to home and fishing location preference.
