2018 NHL Playoffs

We are now a week away from the 2018 NHL playoffs starting.    Figured the playoffs could use their own thread.

For those hoping to get tickets to see the Jets, looks like the secondary market will be out in full force.    http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/winnipeg-jets-playoff-tickets-1.4604783

Winnipeg Jets playoff tickets have not been released to the public, but reseller sites are already posting seats for sale with hefty prices suggesting they are among the hottest tickets in the NHL.

Ticket giant StubHub is posting dozens of playoff home game tickets for upwards of $300 US, which is among the highest entry-level prices. In markets like Toronto, Minnesota and Colorado, tickets start at $100 US.

The best Jets playoff seats on offer, a lower bowl pair at centre ice, are posted for $844 US each. Similar seats in Minnesota and Boston are going for roughly $200 to $500 US, respectively.

I bought tickets to game 2 of the Canucks/Bruins Stanley Cup final.  Paid $500 a pop.  Money well spent.

Who has a better chance at knocking out Nashville in the first round? Blues or Avs?

My hunch says Blues if Allen could show up (which he didn't against the Hawks their last game) but the AVS speed could give the Preds some headaches but the Preds did sweep them this year regular season.

Anyway be interesting to see who squeaks in and who can at least rough the Preds up when they play us the second round, of course knowing we gotta get by the Wild first.

Blues have recent playoff experience.

okay I hope the Jets last a good long time in the playoffs because I might want to attend one of those street events (or a screening at the Forks)

Blues would be a tough series for preds

So they not closing up portage and main and using this playoff run as an excuse to take down the barriers?

Seems like a nitpicky stat but it makes sense now that you mention the source.

Wild are 19th in road points.

That’s a great idea actually. Host a party and hand out jackhammers and sledge hammers and tell them to get started.

okay so I guess that can explain why I keep hearing April 11th or 12th

It’s pretty crazy that they might actually tie with all the tie breakers. Unlikely but possible.

What's the tie break between Colorado and St Louis?

St. Louis plays Colorado tonight. Winner is in the playoffs. Loser is eliminated.

Funny how that happens.

Avs up 4 1 with 2 minutes to go.

Nash vs Col RD 1

The Blues made a valiant push for that final playoff spot but still couldn't beat the Avs

They needed to keep Statsny. Dumb move on their part, but one I'm real happy about.

oh well their stupidity became our gain

Blues also need a new goalie

Can Boston knock us out of 2nd overall? What's the tiebreaker for that?

Just curious as we'd end up with the same points, ROW and one more Reg win.

If we finish with the same points we are 2nd overall.. If WPG Bos were the cup finals i think we'd get home ice. Not sure tho cuz they would be EC champs.

so it looks like a wednesday start for sure

With the Bruins losing to the Panthers tonight, the Jets finish second overall and would have home ice advantage throughout the playoffs unless they face the Predators in the second round.
