SASKATCHEWAN @ BC LIONS

The Lions have a unique streak going in that they have turned their last 10 Red Zone opportunities in a row into touchdowns. They are 16-for-18 in the Red Zone in the last 4 games

Jeremiah Johnson leads the CFL with 7 TDs and is the only player to have at least one touchdown in all of his club's games in 2017.

At B.C. Place, Lulay's W-L record is 24-9. Lulay comes into this game with the 3rd-best QUAR Rating in the CFL at 90.8.

Kevin Glenn has thrown for 1,598 yards and 11 TDs through 5 games - the most of his entire CFL career at this point. Here are his 3 best starts - 2017: 1,598 yds, 11 TDs; 2007: 1,555 yds, 7 TDs; 2010: 1,519 yds, 8 TDs.

BC brings a 6-game win streak vs the Riders into this game

Glenn will be making his 197th career start (96-99-1) and is 8-15 vs BC all-time.

Over their first 4 games, Saskatchewan was held to just 5.8 yards on 1st down and that put them into 2nd-&- long situations a CFL-worst 14 times per game. Last week, their 7.8 yard average on 1st down had them in 2nd-&-short much more and overall allowed them to convert 15-of-24 on 2nd down (63%).

Duron Carter: Caught a season-high 9 passes last week for 131 yards - that is only 25 yards less than he had in all of the Riders' first 4 games this year. It was his first 100-yard game in his last 10 appearances.

Cameron Marshall: Recorded the CFL's third 100-yard rushing game of 2017 last week with 110 yards on 18 carries. He is on pace for 1,138 rushing yards and to be the first Rider 1000-yard gainer since Kory Sheets in 2013 (1,598).

Nic Demski: Has continued to be a valuable kick returner but after 14 catches in Games #1-2, he has just one catch since then.

Lulay vs Glenn: The most frequent head-to-head QB Starter matchup in Travis' career was 11 meetings vs Henry Burris. The next two are against active QBs and that is 9 starts vs Ricky Ray, and 8 vs this week's opponent Kevin Glenn (6-2 vs Glenn). ___________________________________________________________________________________________

BC clearly was in command in this game. 38 minutes in possession time and 547 in total offence. They only had 2 sacks on Kevin Glenn, but they hit him and pressured him. THAT'S how you beat Glenn. This was easily Glenn's worst game of the year. He never looked comfortable and never got in rhythm.

I don't know who will be QB for Sask. when next we meet, or even if they will be in contention, but if it's Glenn, then we have a nice blueprint to follow.

Riders have a lot of athletic projects out there........just not enough football players.

I heard a rumour that Jones didn't want you as a poster as Riderfans because he didn't like your measureables.

You know what a great moment in this game was? When Riders DB Butler ran into the goalpost on the Burnham TD.

And then looked to the ref to flag it!

This needs to be made into an avatar!

Or loop it with video from last year of the two Rider DBs who ran into each other while trying to unsuccessfully defend a TD....Nyuk Nyuk Nyuk

I was surprised that the ref didn't throw a flag on the goalpost and demand it be moved back 10 yards.

Some folks over there, don't like the cut of my jib (or jest).... but I can provide some veteran guile ....and can drink more gin, than Jones.

I heard a rumour from Jones that Lulay and Matt Bucknor ****ed an ostrich.  I have yet to confirm if it was a sick ostrich.

Glad he wasn't seriously injured. His pride hurt more than anything else.

Can't even run a proper coverage scheme, on a goalpost.   Sad.

Blue Bomber flanker Ken Nielsen ran into the goalpost at full speed looking back attempting to catch a pass from Ron Lancaster in the 1970 CFL All Star game. He suffered a serous neck injury & IIRC never played again. Ended his career. So while it seems funny, it's also dangerous. It's a wonder it doesn't happen more often.

True, about that goalpost.    First Bomber jersey I wore, was of the good doctor.    Hands of gold.   When a Rider accomplishes this, uninjured......still pretty funny.

Fairly confident that the padding used now is a whole lot better than the stuff used in the '70's.

Yeah, I'm sure it is. Just like Field Turf is better than the original Astro & Tartan Turf. Still though players need to keep their heads on a swivel around the goalpost.

Nah, don't like to see anyone get hurt regardless of who they play for.

At one time it was legal to use the goalpost as a screen.  Teams would run a pass or run right beside the goalpost effectively  cutting off ways for defensive players to get to the ball.  At the same time defenses could use the goalposts to assist in tackling players & squashing  offensive players up against the goalposts. I've seen pictures of that very thing. That would be the 40's & 50's. It's strange to see how football used to be played way back in the day.

You should probably stop watching football then because I'm thinking that compared to running into a heavily padded goalpost, there's way more chance of injury colliding with a human missile, something that happens each and every play somewhere on the field.

That's not what I said... You know that. Everyone else knows that. And I'll keep watching, thanks. But I appreciate your concern.
