Do we go 8-1 or 7-3-1?

I would think that Scheif, Wheeler and Little are locks to be protected and we have to protect Enstrom and Buff because of their NMCs.

Opinions will change as the year goes on and some players play better/worse and some might be traded but right now they would go 8-1.

MP? Lowry? Armia? Dano? Copp?

I say send them a draft pick so they take Copp. A 3rd rounder or so.

Mostly what's coming out so far are the trades pre-draft.  I haven't heard any reports yet about what moves Vegas is making after the draft, which is what we would be interested in.

Jets are so tight lipped about things you had guys on the day of the draft last year thinking convinced puljujarvi was their pick or they were trading it. Heck even when they traded kane and bogo.. Nobody had a clue b4 hand. 

And... Why do we need to make trades... We wanna upgrade our goaltending and there were reports jets talking to rangers about raanta but thats an after expansion draft thing. Also quite a few UFA goalies out there july 1st.

Sure. But if u watched the draft... They were saying the same stuff. Theres a difference between me saying they might vs Sportsnet insiders saying they might

Sportsnet insiders trying to keep everyone watching? They're selling the event.

The insiders played it up big time even when they knew Laine was the guy.  Even Lawless said "its Laine but...".  Because its their job to have something to talk about.  And it benefits everyone to create hype and suspense.

So of the rumours making the rounds:

 

Cody Eakin selected by Vegas from Dallas

David Perron selected by Vegas from St Louis

Brendan Liepsec from Toronto

Mark Methot selected (and possibly flipped)

James Neal might be selected but Nashville were determined to convince Vegas otherwise.

Grabovki and a first rounder from the Islanders

Makes sense. Enstrom would also be cheaper to protect over Myers, so getting Enstrom to waive was important. Hopefully, it's not costing much. Dano becoming the pick with and a third rounder?

If I had any confidence in our ability to sign good veteran players I'd be okay with it, but the prospect of entering the season with Morrissey - Chiarot - Stuart on the left side scares the living daylights out of me.

I like Alzner, mostly 'cuz I traded him to Wpg in NHL14 and it's paid off. 

Seriously though, how much of an upgrade is he on Enstrom?  And if you're only D acquisition is the guy replacing Toby, that's trouble too.  D wasn't near good enough or deep enough.

Not a huge fan of Karl but let's be honest if he has any options he won't be coming here.

This still feels odd to me at face value.  I can't be the only one seeing at least 3-5 better D than Toby who are unprotected and/or protected but rumoured to be traded to VGK, like Shea Theodore.

..almost makes you wonder, ahem, if Toby's value is a lot higher than many here think.

 

I guess what I hope most ISN'T happening is GMGM schooling Chevy...

Lol. How? Because the jets gave them a prospect or pick in a not very deep draft? GMGM has schooled a few GMs it appears. Doesnt seem like Chevy is one of them. Doesnt hurt that Chevy and Knights assitant GM McCrimmon have a very very very long history together.
