IDK this is tough because I have been a fan of Maurice since he got here but.....I have noticed that he gets stuck on players (Burmi,Thornburn,Stuart) no matter what they bring to the team even had all 3 on the pk today!  The guy has been barely over 500 in his career and only been to the Stanley Cup final I think over 10 years ago. Perhaps we need to move on its tough because he is a great guy and a good coach just wonder is he a great coach?

Yes. And team D. Lack of preparedness. Lack of discipline. Seeming lack of effort too often.

I disagree with preparedness....they have had good starts to games overall....it is the 2nd period that worries me.

He and Chevy agreed to dump Pav to Moose so I cant see Chevy saying, "Yeah, I know we agreed to run the season with the young g's but it's not working out and you gotta pay the price."

apparently this trend to lowest event began in earnest when Maurice was hired. 

In theory it makes sense. But this isn't using the Jets talent to the best of their abilities. Nor is it generating a strong team D as one might expect

Those 3 all go together like a horse and carriage. Penalties lead to the PK which leads to goals against.  Hey.  You posted something about the Jets giving up X amount of goals.... I have an idea for you.... find out how many of those goals were a result of penalties leading to the PK

I'm sorry Ducky, you have some very valid points.  Some great insight.  Good job, friend!!

At least some other posters know what they are talking about and even when I disagree with them, I might see where they are coming from but you haven't got a clue...really.

No, when Comrie would have to be protected if he played with the Jets this year.

It would be if the Jets didn't take penalties.  Are you serious tho. If you don't think our penalties lack of discipline and crap pk Is a major reason for our struggles you are out to lunch. We have the 2nd 3rd or worst pk in the league and take tons of penalties.  It's tge biggest issue with this team and has been since Maurice was named coach

Is goaltending our single biggest reason we are not doing too well? No.

Is it one of the reasons? Yes.

I mean really, nobody can criticize someone for a bad game or games?

Admit it, our goaltending isn't where it needs to be.

Neither is the PK or the overall team D. Neither is our play in the NZ.

By the way, I looked it up and said we had a 50/50 chance of making it to the playoffs just before the season started so I guess i ahd a bit more hope than I remembered.

Everyone takes penalties. We take too much and can't kill them. Coaching? yup.

I just honestly don't see us making the playoffs and haven't for some time. I don't see us making up the points we need to when we are on pace for around 77 points. I said before and still believe we will start playing better around the middle of this month but too little too late.

I think it would be best to look at some more younger players.

Take a look at Roslo for 4 or 5 games before the end of the year. Call Comrie up (could do that right now AND keep Hutch up with Burmi gone) to see what he can do in the bigs....give him 3 starts in 10 games behind Helle. Let him ride the planes and get big money for 2 or 3 weeks.

Take a look at Lemieux, Connor, De Leo. Bring Tanev back up.
