Biden and friends are happy cause they got a bipartisan agreement.

on climate, it isnt ten percent of whats needed, but who cares, as long as there is bipartisanness. so much love with his good republican friends, cause thats what matters.

shocking devlelopement, turns out Biden gets a lot of donations from oil.

but no worries, the rest will get done "later" 😂

lets see if he has the Democratic votes to get this piece of used toilet paper passed.

but mainstream democrats style is to kiss republican asses, and twist progressive

democrat 's arms.

same old shat while the world burns and floods.

Remember that Democrats in the USA, even progressives, are more conservative than anything short of the extremists in the Canadian Conservative party. Any attempt to reject Republicans could kill their voter support amongst moderate Republicans or independents, so like it or not conciliation is necessary. The alternative is losing to 75,000,000 Americans who are hard core Trumpists who will always vote for his cause. There are a lot more pure Republicans than pure Democrats in the States when it comes to guaranteed locked in votes.

the time for basing decisions about climate , energy around that, are long past.

they have zero years left to do huge work. failure to do so..... just look up what the 14000 scientists are saying.

at some point, leaders lead. That is their job. Americans had to be dragged and pushed into WW2. thank god roosevelt led, instead of fretting about polls and politics.

we have reached that point on climate  and are blasting past it.

whole facking planet is burning and flooding.

WW2 was an easy sell once Pearl Harbour.  No kicking and screaming after that. And before that there was zero desire and Roosevelt did not push to join in. Only when the US’s own interests are threatened do they act. Same with climate change unfortunately. And even though they are dead wrong, the US does not feel that their interests are threatened yet. At least not monetarily.

I don’t think it will either, I am just offering a rationale for why Biden operates the way he does despite you being frustrated with it. And politics as usual will be practiced as long as it works for the politician rather than the public, and the vast majority of the public don’t care enough to demand lasting change. Right now the citizenry who care the most and are screaming the loudest are the Trump Klan - how’s that push for change working out?  And it may not be that they think it is good, but rather that it is necessary.

Trump called police officers who worked during the Capitol riot "*******," The Daily Beast reported.
He reportedly also believes some officers are being used as Democratic pawns to smear his name.
Four officers gave harrowing testimony on their experience at the Capitol riot on Tuesday.
Former President Donald Trump has in private conversations been calling some of the police officers who defended the Capitol on January 6 "*******," The Daily Beast reported.

More than 200 officers with the US Capitol Police and Washington, DC, Metropolitan Police Department were injured as a result of clashes with pro-Trump supporters on January 6, police and union officials have said.

In the months since the insurrection, multiple officers have recounted their horror and accused Trump of lying about the nature of the riot.
But according to sources who spoke with The Daily Beast, Trump believes a number of officers who worked that day were weak, and called them "*******."
The former president has on occasion expressed pity for some officers who worked that day, but has also said that he believes the events of January 6 "broke" several officers because they weren't tough enough, The Daily Beast reported.

'This reeks of criminal intent': Bombshell notes expose Trump's pressure campaign on the DOJ

Lawmakers in the House Oversight Committee released new evidence on Friday of former President Donald Trump's extensive pressure campaign to use the Justice Department to help him overturn the result of the 2020 presidential election in the final days of his administration.

Notes from conversations between the president and DOJ officials detail his aggressive push to have the department validate the wild conspiracy theories about election fraud that he fomented, despite the lack of evidence.

On Dec. 27, when told the department couldn't "snap its fingers" and "change the outcome of the election," Trump said, "Don't expect you to do that, just say that the election was corrupt + leave the rest to me and the R. Congressmen," according to the notes.

'Planning to foment a coup': Legal experts say new evidence shows Trump trying 'to overthrow the government'

Legal experts are cautiously weighing in on the bombshell news out of the U.S. House of Representatives Oversight Committee and The New York Times revealing how the former president, Donald Trump, pressured top DOJ officials to declare the election "corrupt" and help him overturn it.

NBC News and MSNBC Legal Analyst Glenn Kirschner, a former fed prosecutor, calls Trump pressuring the DOJ "evidence of an intent to overthrow the government," and asks what more will it take for him to be indicted.

From my readings Roosevelt was trying to get them in as he recognized the dangers of the fascist movement. But he had little support until Pearl Harbor.  There is even a conspiracy theory that Roosevelt and his inner circle knew it was coming and let it happen so there would not be any  resistance to entering the war. I doubt it has any credence. But none the less Roosevelt was pushing to enter the conflict.

There was also plenty of Nazi support in Canada.  MacKenzie King was an anti - Semitic who actually spoke well of Hitler.  When it came to accepting Jewish refugees, the King and his immigration minister made sure there was plenty of red tape.

Re supplying arms. At one point the Americans weren't allowed to sell planes and fly them to Canada for shipping. So the planes were flown to the border, landed, pushed across, then flown the rest of the way.

The Nazi movement / support was pretty strong in the USA. Less so in Canada but every country had it's closet fascists.  The communist movement in on Canada was far stronger than fascism. A reported 10,000 turned out to support communist  leader Tim Buck when he was released from being arrested.

Large percentage of Republicans believe 'patriotic Americans’ could 'take the law into their own hands’

Nearly half of Republican voters believe there will come a time when the so-called "American patriots" will "have take the law into their own hands," the findings of a new survey reveal.

The new survey, conducted by GW Politics Poll, analyzed the belief systems of Democrats and Republicans. Based on the survey's findings, there are stark differences between Democratic and Republican voters' perspectives of the law and their trust and confidence in the government.

Republican voters in states former President Donald Trump won during the 2020 election have a higher level of trust in their state and local officials than Republicans residing in blue states won by President Joe Biden. While the same trend is evident where Democratic voters are concerned, the survey indicates it is far "less profound."

Danny Hayes, a George Washington University political science professor and co-director of the GW Politics Poll weighed in with more details about the survey findings.

"Most of the state and local officials who run our elections are long-time public servants whose goal is simply to help our democracy operate smoothly," Hayes said. "But if we've gotten to a place where voters trust the electoral system only when their side wins, then that undermines the idea of non-partisan election administration, which is essential for democracy."

The survey highlighted the following:

"Support for fundamental principles such as free and fair elections, free speech, and peaceful protest are nearly unanimous among both Democrats and Republicans. Their views on other democratic values, however, differ dramatically. Over half of Republicans (55%) supported the possible use of force to preserve the "traditional American way of life," compared to 15% of Democrats. When asked if a time will come when "patriotic Americans have to take the law into their own hands," 47% of Republicans agreed, as opposed to just 9% of Democrats."

The reference to patriotic Americans could raise concerns given what transpired at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, the deadly event serves as a reminder of what could happen when Americans "take the law into their own hands."

book titled "none is too many" is about that subject.

yeah you are right

"The authors identify Frederick Blair, the head of immigration in William Lyon Mackenzie King's government, as a top official who opposed and limited Jewish immigration. They say that Blair's policy had the full support of Mackenzie King, who was prime minister 1935–48, Vincent Massey, the high commissioner to Britain,[3] and both Anglophone and Francophone elites in general."

sadly people have been hating and killing Jews for a very long time. reading a book about the sectarian division between the Jews, and the Jewish sect that became Christianity. very interesting since I know nothing about it. Elaine Pagels author. "origins of satan"

frightening but not new.  Tree of liberty has to be watered with blood. they like that idea.

just not their blood.

Not much doubt, violence is a core American value.
