US Politics

Lets see if we can keep this thread a little more civil.

I found this interview very interesting.  A lot of soft balls thrown at Trump, he explained his back pedalling on his more extreme issues as a lot of his claims as opening bids for negotiation purposes.  Which .. whatever .. I still think that those are insincere claims he used to get elected.

He does now come across way more presidential then he did prior to the election.  A lot of his noise, yelling, and rhetoric has been scaled back.

Do respect this one though:

Quote

Lesley Stahl: Are you gonna take the salary, the president’s salary?

Donald Trump: Well, I’ve never commented on this, but the answer is no. I think I have to by law take $1, so I’ll take $1 a year. But it’s a -- I don’t even know what it is.

Donald Trump: Do you know what the salary is?

Lesley Stahl: $400,000 you’re giving up.

Donald Trump: No, I’m not gonna take the salary. I’m not taking it.

Trump Refuses to Explain ‘Obamagate’: ‘You Know What the Crime Is!’

Justin Baragona
Published May. 11, 2020 5:42PM ET
Confronted on his Mother’s Day tweets in which he accused former President Barack Obama of committing the “biggest political crime in American history,” President Donald Trump refused to explain what the actual crime was. “Obamagate,” Trump exclaimed Monday afternoon when asked by Washington Post reporter Philip Rucker to provide an explanation. “It’s been going on for a long time!”

After Trump offered no specifics, Rucker again asked him what is the exact crime he is accusing his predecessor of. “You know what the crime is. The crime is very obvious to everybody, all you have to do is read the newspapers, except yours.”

Not my source.   Btw, try reading the Mueller Report itself.  That way you will know what a snow job was put out by Barr

I never understood this argument, even the Democrats wouldn't include the obstruction charges in their articles of impeachment, despite the Mueller Report citing 10 or 11 potential instances of obstruction. Even Schiff admitted that there just wasn't enough evidence to include even one obstruction charge,

Reality has a left bias.

That's really the problem in the States. Republicans and things such as Fox News have dragged the conversation so far into right field anything that isn't out there right wing nonsense has a "left" bias.

besides, things such as reports of people calling for Barr to resign are simply facts and don't need to worry about bias. Now if there's a bit on "what this means" then that is susceptible to bias, but factual reporting without an editorial attached to it then no need to worry if the facts are sourced correctly.

You guys set the standard, now we all get to play by the same rules.

Now, now, just as long as the facts are proven to be accurate, we don't have to go bashing left or right leaning spin sources.

Your reply has nothing to do with the post.  Impeachment related to Ukraine.   In terms of Mueller, its clear Trump obstructed but he did so well at it that it was less of a path than Ukraine.  No same person reads the Mueller report and comes away thinking there was nothing there.  Not even you.  Havent you had enough of this yet?

And it's clear the Democrats considered the possible instances of obstruction cited in the Mueller Report for their impeachment charges and decided against them, because as Schiff said, not enough evidence to support a charge, no spin, just the facts amigo.

Or, as is the obvious fact, the Ukraine case was much clearer.  The Mueller report was hamstrung from the start.  Dems wanted it to be simple and focused.  Which it was.  hence why your hero was impeached.

Nothing is accurate when it comes down to good old Kelly Ann who is permanently on the spin cycle

You have to ask yourself why does Trump no want anyone to see his taxes, why wouldn't he let anyone testify before the House, and why does he need absolute immunity.

Agreed, so play by the rules as I outlined in my post. Simple facts only need to be fact checked, editorials bias matters.

REALITY BITES: Trump Sabotages His Own Coronavirus ‘Mission Accomplished’ Moment
The president had a banner proclaiming “AMERICA leads the world in testing” and a message of strength to deliver. But it all crumbled when he stormed out of his briefing.

Kevin Lamarque/Reuters
It had all the trappings of a “Mission Accomplished” moment: the banner, the presidential pomp, and a message that wasn’t true.

But what President Donald Trump wanted Monday to be a show of strength over his administration’s coronavirus testing push, complete with a banner touting “AMERICA leads the world in testing,” ended under tough questioning by reporters, causing the president to storm off abruptly.

Trump has always seen women as either decorations or receptacles. He doesn't know how to deal with intelligent, critical women. Or men for that matter.

I completely agree, there was nothing in the Meuller Report worthy of impeachment, which is why they didn't include anything from it. That wasn't so hard now was it.

We will have to disagree.  A good deal of Obstruction going on:

Nothing that warranted being added to the articles of impeachment though, according to Schiff.

Mueller said he would of exonerated the President, if he could........but stated that he could not.
