  1. Absolutely!! The command centre constantly seems to be interfering with the calls on the field ( which I fine to be demeaning to the officials ) and to not have that play reviewed and called back is brutal.
  2. I just saw that hit on our long snapper. Unreal. Not only was it blatant, but that it was missed by the officials is pathetic. And clearly from the reaction by the coach, he thinks it was intentional as well. I'm expecting a fine for sure, and would be really happy if the fine was in the form of a suspension.
  3. Here's my 2 pennies worth: Our "prevent" defense at the end of the game doesn't work. Rushing 3 guys, and allowing the other team to push the ball down-field is a disaster. That's 2 games we've gassed at the end playing prevent. Yoshi is playing hurt, and I agree we need to rest him. He's far better than he was playing yesterday. I absolutely expect a win in our building next week. Speaking of playing hurt, Streveler was doing his fair share of limping at the end, hope it's nothing serious.
  4. I thought I might puke with the amount of times TSN showed Fajardo's father. Pretty sure Streveler's dad comes to all the games as well, maybe they will show him next weekend??
  5. Absolutely what I was thinking. We roll out Streveler and that keeps their dline honest.
  6. I bet he's getting lots of therapy on that hammy....those injuries take forever to heal.
  7. Thought he played quite well. His first start and it's the LDC. Yikes. I think people need to remember we played with 3 o'line and a RB that are essentially rookies. Our back-up qb.as well. Next week will be very different.
  8. My 3 stars: Augustine. Lots of pressure for his first start, and I thought he played quite well. Lawler. I've been critical of his play this year, and he was great in this game. D line. All of them had great moments, lots of pressure and plenty of sacks. HH: Gotta hand it to the refs for calling a brilliantly one-sided game. Holding on our d line galore.
  9. this is the wrong thread but I agree with all of this....we have a quarterback who is a huge threat to run, and we need to go with the RPO. There was one play in the 2nd half that really stood out when we went with the qb option to Augustine, and they completely bit on it and tackled him for a minimal gain, while Streveler was completely alone running around the corner.
  10. absolutely....no way we start the game doing that. May have been a totally different game last week had Ottawa not spotted them 3 scores.
  11. wow thought he was making more than that and I was surprised when I read that all we saved was 50k by releasing him.
  12. Yes I get that....what I meant was that it was risky to have only 2 quarterbacks available period. I felt we needed to have a 3rd qb here to be learning the system just in case. Dressing 2 is fine, but I wanted another here as insurance, and lo and behold, they've brought in another guy. If Streveler leads with his head again this weekend we shall need another guy!
  13. I'm not surprised with this in the least. Seemed disinterested when playing, and we just can't have that from a top money player.
  14. This whole thing has been going on for over a month now....I believe what Andrew has been saying, simply because the tests were so close together. I know nothing about the science involved, but I thank those who have posted. It just seems to me that he has a clean test, and then, if he thinks he's in the clear and away we go, he wouldn't have "trace amounts", he'd have the full-on high score. So I believe what he's telling us, and I hope he has had the supplement tested as well. I think this has ended his MOP chances for sure.
  15. Pretty risky running with only 2 qb's. Gotta think Walters is burning up the phone lines. Imagine the chaos if Streveler gets hurt.......
  16. It's generally considered to be bad form if the patient croaks.
  17. I disagree. IMO we finally did something unpredictable...we put in our running qb. Football is a team game, and they have to work together to make it happen. Putting in Streveler created confusion, and diverted a portion of their attention away from Harris. I've been bashing LaPo repeatedly, and now I get to praise him.
  18. I think I might know.....
  19. I've read every comment on this thread, and really folks, nothing is going to change. Nichols is our starter, end of story. Our offence is far too predictable, and when we didn't do the predictable thing at the end and put in Streveler we moved the ball. Why?? Because Calgary now had to divide their attention between Harris and Streveler. I blame a lot of our troubles on coaching. And like someone said, if two of those deep balls get caught, everything changes.
  20. Grant.....speed and great vision Harris....if he's not there we're toast Sayles....tremendous game HH.....that sweet kick from 55 by Medlock was amazing
  21. If it comes down to having to trade one of the two, I'm going to trade Nichols and keep the young guy. I like our current qb tandem, but would like to see Streveler utilized more. Especially when the offence is struggling.
  22. that's right....when Hardrick got hurt and Speller ( I think ) was moved from left guard to right tackle he wasn't good....the footwork is totally different and that's a huge change even for a seasoned vet
  23. exactly.....the line seems to have run-blocking down pretty good, but pass-block and blitz protection are suspect. Must remember we have 3 interior guys with extremely limited experience
  24. It's a long season, and we were never going to go 18-0. Every team deals with injuries, and now it's our turn. Mathews probably gets in next week ( unless he goes clubbin in TO ), and as I said earlier maybe we need to give Yoshi a game off to heal up. We have a very inexperienced interior o'line, and they had a teachable moment last night. I like our defence, and doesn't defence win championships?? Can't expect to win a game with 5 turnovers. And yes the qb takes the blame for the whole offence, kind of like Helly taking the blame when the puck goes in. Did receivers run the wrong routes?? Did the o'line not block properly?? Gotta check the film, sort things out and move on.
