No, Tommy Pharr's stats as a qb were abysmaL. The Mississippi State grad was signed by the Bombers in 1972 & was Don Jonas backup that season as a rookie. Pharr was switched to DB in 1973 full time but was still the Number 2 qb on the Bombers that season. He contributed the most for the Bombers as a defensive back for 2 seasons. He was also a pass receiver & punt returner.

As a Bomber qb, Pharr attempted 36 passes & completed 11 for 216 yards & a 30.6% completion average. He threw one TD & 4 interceptions. He QBR was 21.3.  He was a scrambler & liked to take off with the football. He carried the ball 31 times for 244 yards with a 7.9 yard rushing average & 1 touchdown. His longest run was 40 yards.

He was also an injury relacement at receiver catching the ball 11 times for 121 yards for an 11.0 yard average per catch & no touchdowns. His kongest reception was 28 yards.

As a defensive back, Pharr picked off 6 passes for 131 yards & no touchdowns. He caused 2 fumbles & recovered one for zero yards.

He returned 21 punts as a Blue Bomber for 120 yards & a 5.7 yard return average & no touchdowns. His longest punt return was 16 yards back in the day when there was no blocking on punt returns.

So, Tommy Pharr was a handy guy to have around but I remember he really struggled when he went in at qb.

I know he wasn’t a great player, but that didn’t stop the team and the press from calling him super sub because of all the positions he played.

Was being sarcastic. A lot of people here are in love with " I wanna be here for life" and looking the other way on the length of the deal. They don't want to harsh the "one big happy family" vibe.

I’m sure a lot of guys say they want to be there for life, while thinking  “ as long as they pay me what I want”

The ones that are among the tops in the league year after year in takeaways?

No, the ones that totally blew victories over Calgary and BC the past few years.  There is a reason that MOS took more of an interest in the D. I think Hall was put on notice, and for good reason.

Haven't given up more than 28 points in a game and that's including a few points off turnovers too.

Don't think D is an issue.  Was an issue today because they didn't make enough big plays as we rely on them so much.

I'm just so tired of his bend and break defence.

our OC and DC are the problem with this team. One outthinks himself and can't get out of his own way. The other is to stubborn to realize zone defense doesn't work when you are playing to win the game. Giving the opposition receivers 10+ yards to catch a ball is laughable at best. Tighter coverage and much better tackling would have won that game in spite of everything else.

A few years ago I said to a friend that the Bombers would never win a Grey Cup with Ritchie Hall as DC.  I still feel that way.

I don't remember Berry complaining to the media bout the refs and blaming everyone else.

I only remember him getting angry and messy hair when the team made mistakes and that was about it.    He didn't seem like a pouter to me.

Berry wasn't a pouter,  but was totally out of control on the sidelines.  The way he treated Alexis Serna was embarrassing.  Not the type of person you want representing your team or city.  Maas should go.

Just read the Sun article where Mr Bell stated he is actually 5"11 not 6"1. Actually I think this guy may be sneaky good. Smaller qbs rarely get a sniff in the NFL based solely on their measurables.(except Russell Wilson?) So maybe we have something here..? he even compares himself to......Darian Durant.?

I'd be surprised if Kevin Glenn is even 5'10.  He's done ok.
