  1. I don't want to to beat this to death too much longer, but I don't really understand how you consider it an overpay. He will be either the lowest paid or in the lowest tier of being paid. How much lower than the next lowest paid starter can a team reasonably be expected to pay?
  2. I'm not counting them at the moment because they don't have a "starter". They have two back-ups who will most likely each get starts. So, in that case, there may not be one guy in Hamilton who makes more than Brown. All teams who know have an expected starter will be paying over 400k.
  3. I forgot this one, so Dru Brown will be the only starter making less than 400k.
  4. Well, I massively disagree with your explanation, though I agreed with the original point. Assuming Zach plays the majority of games, Strev is so much more valuable to us than Brown. If we were replacing Zach, I want to roll with Brown (and still hopefully have Strev).
  5. But this staff has refused to do that. Even when Brady was struggling. To think they're going to give him a starting opportunity is laughable.
  6. He’s not going to get them. You can believe what you want, but this coaching staff has shown again and again that they don’t see him as a starting option. Or even a role player. He’s a special teamer.
  7. Brown isn’t paid like the others either. He is being paid an entry level starter salary.
  8. We at least know the Redblacks hope and expect he’s going to be the starter. That’s why they traded for him and are paying him a starting salary.
  9. He’s going to be a starter so you have to pay him as a starter. He will not be among the highest paid, I’m not sure you have a guy who’s going to get 340 in the same list as Zach and Kelly (you actually forgot Kelly) who are making 600k. He’s pretty much making the bare minimum amount.
  10. coincidentally coincides with the end of Zach’s current contract.
  11. I 100% support players getting all they can - you notice no one is saying anything negative about Dalton. But trying to do any negotiating in the media never works out well for the player. He made a bit of a mistake there, I think.
  12. That's a weird comparable for me because I think I'd rather have Brady on the team, but it brings up the salary differentials that RBs can't stand. Because he produced so much more than Demski did the season, yet has to be told that's too much money for him. I get it, but to an RB, it must not make much sense. BTW, I'm sure Walters has already offered much more than your take it or leave it offer.
  13. I love the eye rolling emoji. Definitely not going to stop using it. 😂
  14. I don’t think it’s any more or less classy. We’re just more used to the other ones.
  15. Any business is going to sound dumb as a stadium name. I wish we could just call it Stegall Field or something.
  16. This is disgusting. Schoen and Brady better both be signed for this.
  17. I'm sure he could do it if he wanted, but I imagine it's pretty set in stone that he's signing with Ottawa.
  18. I agree with this, and that's why I think it's more likely that he's the one we sign. Schoen would probably have to accept far less to stay here than he would get on the open market. I'm hopeful, but I just can't see how the math would work.
  19. There's very obvious reasons why not both. Walters could obviously give them both any deal they want, it would just come at the expense at other parts of the roster. At a certain point, it would do more harm than good.
  20. Hey man, if you look up, everyone is taking shots at each other, laughing about, and then taking a shot at themselves too. I'll argue with you about football all day long, but don't take any of the other stuff personally. And I did happen to be 16 back then and am still in my 30's. So there.
