I think football will look dramatically different 50 or a 100 years from now. We will always have violent sports like wrestling and MMA, but these sports can be filled by adults. Football needs a minor league system, and, as stated, parents are less inclined to consent to their children playing the sport.
Dr. Daniel Amen, the leading neuro- psychiatrist in the world, whose clinics have done over 130,000 SPECT brain scans (functional brain scans that detect under-active and over-active areas of the brain) strongly recommends parents do not put their children in hockey, football, or soccer.

I thought it was very obvious
Ottawa got away with 2 offensive pi non calls this game. It may happen all the time and is very difficult to flag, but IMO they got away with 2 tonight that led to TD's.
Great game for both QB's though. Very impressive!

If you're referring to Davis, he was found by Calgary.
My bad.

Davis is finally getting a shot at #1...and making the most of it

Anyone surprised the Riders didn't challenge on that Ottawa TD? That was definitely offensive pass interference.

Nichols played great. Bombers played great. But Harris 100% had the best game of any QB this week. Pretty hard to argue that.
Yeah, I can't see the league not giving Harris a player of the week star.

Nichols performance didn't win us the game and Reilly's performance didn't lose them the game.
Yes, but couldn't you say that about any player after any game? Football is played with 24 (or 22 NFL) players on the field who make plays and who make mistakes. I'd argue Nichols had the best game of any QB this week (maybe Harris in conversation too).

Before we anoint Hecht as the Messiah, lets wait a few games\
Okay, maybe your right. But a great game nonetheless...

I think we filled the safety spot quite nicely thank you very much

Yah we gotta stop Reilly. We know he's going deep every other play. Gotta get some pressure on him. He's going to throw for like 500 yards on us.

As always, a huge key will be our defense containing Mike Reilly. If we can keep him in the pocket, we are probably okay. If he gets out and works his magic, look out!

👁🗨🏈 The Canadian Football League is moving up the start time of the June 13 regular -season-opening game in Hamilton between the Tiger-Cats and Saskatchewan Roughriders to 7 p.m. easter time from 7:30 p.m. (Toronto can’t do anything right it seems.)
It's still going to overlap with the Raptors game (that's why they moved it to 7).
Too bad for the CFL. Their showcase opening game will be overtaken by Raptors. I'll watch 2 hours of football and then turn over to the start of BB game. Hopefully the Raptors can wrap it up!

Yes, Rod Pederson did predict the Bombers finish 5th in the west this year; however, the new voice of the Riders, Derek Taylor, (today) predicted the Bombers finish 1st!!
This is my prediction:
East
Hamilton
Toronto
Ottawa
Montreal
West
Winnipeg
Calgary
SK
B.C.
Edmonton

Without fail here are the worst pre-season predictions in the league from the one and only Rod Pederson
West Division
1. Calgary Stampeders
2. B.C. Lions
3. Edmonton Eskimos
4. Saskatchewan Roughriders
5. Winnipeg Blue Bombers
East Division
1. Hamilton Tiger-Cats
2. Toronto Argonauts
3. Ottawa Redblacks
4. Montreal Alouettes
Don't take Pederson too seriously. He predicted us to finish 5th last year too.
However, I am rather shocked he has the Riders finishing 4th (did not think his Rider glasses allowed for that).

I was surprised to see Bennett cut. But maybe salary, age, and up-side all played into the decision.
It would have been nice to somehow keep 4 QB's as I doubt we will keep both Nichols & Streveler next year.
I am looking forward to seeing how McGuire can improve. (Maybe he & not Streveler, will be our QB of the future?!).
-
Bennett is #3. He's gotten better (which you obviously want out of your back-up) in the last couple of years.
Having said that, I hope the Bombers do what they can to keep McGuire around as both Streveler & Nichols are set to be free agents after 2019. He looks good so far.
And dare I say it, based on limited preseason action, Bennett & McGuire looked like more accurate passers than Streveler.

. I would be shocked if Whitehead ever becomes anything beyond a gadget guy. Sure, one who can take it to the house from time to time but these guys rarely last very long. Banks being the notable exception.
I don't know. Henry Williams turned out to be a pretty good "gadget" guy with the Eskimos...er, I mean "Gizmo" guy.

i read somewhere Soliman is injured..hasn't practiced yet?..how does one get injured before even being on the field...I think father time and injuries are taking toll on him and doubt he be much of an impact player there this year...more average than elite
Eliminian was out of camp for awhile as he was a member of the CFLPA who was informing the players on the new deal

You sure that's the right picture of the guy? The guy in the above picture looks more like a HB to me! (But then again, I'm not standing next to him either!)

Edmonton looked good last night. I (almost) felt bad for Reilly. He could have been seriously hurt. B.C. has to realize there is a player (usually behind or beside the Q.B.) called the running back.
