To put it in to perspective... The most listened to radio station in manitoba is... CBC.. CJOB is a close 2nd 1290 is way down near the bottom at number 11.

CJOB draws big ratings regardless of the bombers who play for all of 18 weeks... TSN does nothing if its not Jets.

Its all bout who had the better record.. In reality is should be Dickenson vs Oshea.. But for some dumb reason... CFL seems to think the West East thing matters more.

Its all about stats... Calgary was better in terms of record... Wpg and Edmonton were next... These awards are purely based on stats.

@shadybob diasgree all you like... CJOB is the big time in this Province... 1290 is on the lower end of the totem pole. Its how it is... Jets are the only thing they have that draws numbers and even then its not that high... 1290 dies when the Jets leave that station.

The numbers suggest that the only ppl listening to 1290 are on this site. 1290 probably wont exist in 5 years... Especially if the Jets decide to abandon them

Bombers are very much about the community and being proud to be Manitoban. The fact they have these FN youth initiatives where they fly in a bunch of FN youth to games says they are all about the community... Ive never been to a FN reserve but.. Id imagine 1290 dont work in those places... Its iffy at my lake 1 hour north of here if theres a north wind of any kind.. Id imagine its non existent 5 hours more north. 1290 is painful to listen to. The reason they dont have as many commercials is because the only time TSN draws numbers here is when the Jets play... The rest of the time... They dont draw much at all. Can say what u want about CJOB and Global for that matter but their audience is much bigger than 1290s. 1290 cant compete with CJOB... Regardless of commercials which in reality is how radio stations make money If not for the Jets there would be no 1290...
