I think history prob shows us that great players don’t make great coaches. Great right so I’m talking like elite athletes like milt or Montana maybe or guys with natural athletic ability. It’s the guys like Jake who do tho, average players on the field but perhaps had to work a bit harder cuz they don’t have that elite athleticism like a milt or Montana or I dunno name a superstar really. Wayne Gretzky, perhaps the goat hockey player, one of the worst coaches ever. On the other side a guy like Paul Maurice, certainly not a great player at all, his stats are brutal but a pretty damn good coach.

Jake was a fine backup guy. It was when they decided he was a starter that things got stupid. But his career is over and it appears he’s a solid coach and a smart football mind. Rumour has it he was always in the film room. So he will make a good coach.

Pretty obvious if you watch other games that our O is not even in the same planet as everyone else’s. Our D is similar but our D makes so many substitutions it’s impossible to be consistent. But yup, like last year our O is garbage.

Smith and Woodbey have the making of a solid 2/3rds of your LB group. Both can also tackle. There’s talent on the team. It’s likely not being used properly but there are also several glaring holes. Nichols is cooked. Moxey is a little bit of chicken fried, even Holm boy seems to have fallen hard, don’t dislike major Williams as a rookie tho. Kelly at safety is just strange. Does ceresna do anything? Just wondering. Reese has skill. Willie is the only vet who isn’t showing his age. There’s some talent on D especially. Lots of substitutions tho seemingly causing confusion leading to penalties tho. Thats coaching there.

I’m all for trying out the new guys but anyone pretending any of them come in and make some immediate impact or all of a sudden we go from **** to the **** is ******* kidding themselves. Dru Brown had more passing yards in 2 games than Zach did in all of his. This idea the O was designed specifically for zachs strengths is laughable when 70 percent of the time it’s deep ball or hope and a prayer. Thats not zachs strengths. Since when ? And it’s like the O is designed for Zach and a lawler type, throw it up and go get it. How is any of that zachs strengths today??
