Agreed. I am avoiding going down to the US at least until Trump is gone, maybe later even. Of course I would move to a place that is closer to the US border, which is not comforting at all. I know a friend who got detained at the border while going down for work purposes. It's terrifying.

Yep, this will be the test for how effective their justice system is. Anything less than long-term prison sentences won't serve justice.

Every so often I remind people here that I'm a conservative and voted as such for many years. But...if I was American, the Dems would have my vote at every level this year (and Federally in 2020). We all have to pick and choose what policies matter to us, how much character matters etc. Its one thing to say "well, I like their plan for taxes but I dont like their plan for infrastructure spending" and pick a side. Yep, in cases like these, you vote based on the leaders and their policies rather than the party itself. When you have people like Arnold Schwarzenegger who voted Republican every year except for this past election, you know something has gone wrong. Part of the problem in the US right now, though, is that some of them will vote for the same party no matter what, even if the leader is reprehensible and goes against everything the people supposedly stand for. Most of these massive Trump supporters would never consider voting for him if he was a Democrat, but yet being a Republican they think his behaviour is acceptable somehow. Their two-party system is dangerous, and I hope we don't experience the same problems up here if anyone similar to Trump crops up.

It's divided at this point, though I think most fans are trusting him for now, at least until we see a few more games. If we're still losing by Labour Day, then they will be out for his head.
I would much rather a maritimes team come from a different source as a Rider fan, but I've been excited at the possibility of one coming this direction! Touchdown Atlantic was a success, so it's about time it has been considered.

Unless this season becomes 2011 bad, I think Jones will still last the season. But given that this is supposed to be year 3 of his so called three year plan, this is his last chance to prove that he isn't just all talk and wasn't just assisted by the people around him in Edmonton. If we miss the playoffs, or don't at least make it out of the division semis, he's gone, and I highly doubt he will end up being hired as a head coach by anyone else in the league after that.

My problem with that play is consistency. If they're going to call it, it needs to be called on every play, but the refs pick and choose. Can't blame the refs for this, though. It was a poorly executed game, and we are lucky to have threatened them at the end.
Some fans are complaining too much, and it's not warranted. I don't think any fans should be complaining too much about this game, after the season we had last year. We're lucky to have gone this far.

You won't find too much teeth mashing over there. We still went farther than any of us expected. It was certainly a disappointing game filled with inexcusable mistakes, but we are still proud of the boys. For the first time in 3-4 years, we played meaningful games, and it should only get better from here. I'll be patiently waiting for next season.

The bottom line is, there are good fans and bad fans in every fanbase. Just because you see a handful of idiots on a sports forum, doesn't mean the entire fanbase is stupid. It is a misconception here that most Rider fans are rabid and unintelligent when the average fan is just like the rest of you, respectful, yet passionate. (I'm not saying that none of them are, but it has become a stereotype.)
I'm not here to pick fights, but fanbase bashing is petty. All it does is distract us from our own teams and it disrespects people who care about their teams and the league. I am all for rivalry; this is one of my favourite times of the year, but the point that it becomes obsessive is when it has gone too far. There have been some bad trolls here who don't have any business posting on this site, but at the same time almost everyone new who attempts to show respect and have a good conservation gets shot down instantly. Not every Rider fan comes here to bash the other team and boast about their own.
