  1. To make room for Larry Dean. Who's crazier, Awe or the guy that shows up to fight him wearing a propeller beanie?
  2. Khari has now coached on 5 of the 9 teams in the league, they weren't all crappy....but if they were, it's his job to improve their play under his area of expertise. Can't honestly say this has been the case at most of his stops.
  3. QB's eyes light up when they see a skinny white kid in the secondary.
  4. Who starts doesn't matter much as long as they use both, Steinauer is screwing with their heads so they won't know what to expect, not a bad strategy to keep them off balance. If they can make Fajardo uncomfortable and contain his runs, they should have a decent chance of winning the game. Fajardo is a tough nut but he usually cracks at some point.
  5. It could work but the Stamps D has to keep the game within reach, if it becomes a shootout Maier has no chance of keeping up with Adams. Doesn't help the Stamps playing inside a warm dry stadium.
  6. I wouldn't expect Strev to accept a role as a 3rd down specialist, if he comes back at all he'll be looking for more of an opportunity to start, which rules out the Bombers. Any team paying a QB $500k won't have much left over to pay their backups. I agree, they'll cut him loose as soon as the opportunity presents itself, doubt he makes it to camp and a chance to compete.
  7. Both Masoli and Harris are going to hang on as long as they can, how else are they going to make $500k in one year, BLM showing them the ropes on how to maintain the cash flow. Sure sounds like Ottawa is thinking about Brown, which other QB would they potentially go after? Burke and Dyce have one more year to right their ship, don't think they'll gamble their future on existing backups, Schiltz or Dane Evans. "General manager Shawn Burke indicated that he and head coach Bob Dyce told Masoli that he won’t enter next season as the unquestioned starter despite being under contract with Ottawa on a deal worth a maximum of $508,000. The club’s plan appears to be dependent upon what other teams around the league do this off-season, though it’s clear Masoli will have to fight for the starting job if he remains with the team come training camp. “We’ve communicated to Jeremiah that the situation will be a bit different than previous years and he understands that. What I promised him in terms of communication is once I know exactly what it will be, he will be informed and we’ll talk it through and see what happens,” Burke told TSN 1200." https://3downnation.com/2023/11/01/ottawa-redblacks-not-guaranteeing-qb-jeremiah-masoli-starting-job-in-2024/
  8. Pretty sure he doesn't have a vote, only 5 Wpg. votes, Bauming, Wyman, Taylor, Hamilton and O'Shea.
  9. From CFL Transactions Bombers added 3 more recently, probably just look-sees for next season. WPG ADD AMER Terry WILSON (QB) New Mexico WPG ADD AMER Ontaria WILSON (WR) Florida State WPG ADD AMER Jamal WOODS (DL) Illinois Jamal Woods 6'-2" 290 lbs. #91 looks thick and powerful, better suited to DT than DE. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0CUTUdihY70&ab_channel=MPHBOBO Ontaria "Pokey" Wilson WR 6'-0" 175 lbs. #80 good hands, looks smooth and fast. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-hPBcW8bEY&ab_channel=Marquishimo
  10. Typical CFL event, Riders taking notes.
  11. BLM lost a lot of mobility moving around the pocket, last game he looked old, slow and fat. If the Ti-Cats beat Mtl. I bet it will be Schiltz to the rescue.
  12. Ambles is probably this year's Norman Roosevelt, brought in to spend the rest of the season on the PR, then released. The Stamps picked him up in Aug. dressed him for 4 games and released him, after he went 15/23 for 193 yds. So whatever ability they thought he had earlier in his career may no longer be relevant.
  13. Murphy is still on the 6 game.
  14. I know Lucky is a BC fan favourite, but on that roster he's probably the 6th best receiver, would be surprised if he didn't move on after this season.
  15. Wonder if they have to cut other PR players to make room? Still expecting Bailey back and BOLO to start for Schoen who seems done for the season.
  16. 6'-5" 292 lbs. he would have looked good on the PR, surely in all that time they could have taught him something...
  17. Chungh, Desjarlais, Casey Sayles and Lawler himself, all players the Bombers wanted to retain but couldn't afford to, every year Walters discusses the difficulty of keeping a winning roster intact. There's no magic accounting, certain sacrifices have to be made. The receiving corps. would still be good even with the loss of Lawler or Schoen, because everyone else is capable of picking up the load and making plays.
  18. Collin Kornelson went back to the U of M, not sure if they were thinking of switching him to the O-line or if that was fellow U of M grad. Cole Adamson.
  19. Do you think they're going to actually cut Lawler after promising to pay him? I can see the Riders making a decision like this but not the Bombers.....something, something, integrity and living with the consequences of their decisions. If he underperformed you would have a valid point.
  20. Maybe they wanted to go all in this year and aren't worried about next season?
  21. I don't know why they didn't see this coming when they re-signed Lawler, I sure did. Maybe they thought there was a good chance they would lose Schoen to the NFL, who knows? They lost Lawler the top receiver in 2021 to F.A., I conclude they are now equally prepared to lose Schoen after this season to balance the budget, as Kenny is signed to multiple year deal. The flip-side is they would be able to bump up Bailey if Schoen walked.
  22. You're correct, that was also the case when Collaros moved to the Ti-Cats, Mike Reilly moved back to the Lions and more recently when BLM's rights were traded to the Ti-Cats prior to F.A... Gettin somethin, is better than nuthin.
  23. I remember that trick play being used by the Als a season or two ago, I think it was Antwi that tried it twice, and got it right once.
