  1. Ouellette is the Argos wild card and they know it, hopefully Hall knows it too. It will be up to the LB's to prevent him from running wild through the secondary, Bighill needs to stay close to home and BA needs to go for the tackle over the hit.
  2. It doesn't look like he's having fun, kind of reminds me of his demeanor when he played for Sask. He's been off since that big lineman fell on his head a few weeks ago, wouldn't doubt it's concussion related as he seems to need extra time to regain his bearings each time he's knocked down.
  3. Doubt they roster him this year, waiting to see what they do with Haba once Jeffcoat returns.
  4. Not sure how much better the protection was at that time as it was LaPo's ball control offence that kept Nichols clean, in fact he played numerous games when he was not hit, even after the ball was released. Difference is Nichols was aware he was fragile and got rid of the ball quickly, found Harris or happily threw it out of bounds if he had no targets. He rarely gambled on his receivers winning jump balls as he was allergic to turnovers and the receiving group as a whole were not as talented as the one Zach has now. Add in Andrew Harris as a constant factor the D-line had to pay close attention to, either running up the gut or sneaking out of the backfield for a 5 yd. pass. Zach probably didn't like that offence as it wasn't built around his penchant for buying time, scrambling and taking bigger shots, so over the years Buck's playbook has morphed to match his wishes. Problem is some games it just doesn't work well and they no longer have a different philosophy to fall back on, other than having Brady plow a road upfield every second down .
  5. Very easy to oversize font on your browser for reading by increasing the zoom factor.
  6. Micah Awe has the following disciplinary history: - Week 13 2017 - Fined for 2 illegal hits in 1 game - Week 18 2022 - Fined for a high hit - Week 6 2023 -Fined for a high hit on Mason Fine - Week 7 2023 - Fined for a high hit on Crum
  7. Booch is pissed off, Haba is probably happy to start.
  8. Well they finally beefed up the D-line but not the way anyone hoped. 4 DT's suggest we might see Walker on the edge more helping out.
  9. True, but he'd be stupid not to ask for the highest amount possible and could wait until FA to force Walters to spend more than he planned to. I don't know if he has an agent but that would be his best advice.
  10. Hope they lock him down before FA, cause you never know what other teams may offer.
  11. Wonder what Brady is going to cost them? He's now established himself as the best RB in the league although Harris was the highest paid at $165k last season but may have taken a discount to re-sign with the Argos this year as a backup. Butler signed with the Ti-Cats for around $125k, so Import RB's are still not being paid much, I think it will take somewhere around $140-$150k to re-sign Brady on a long-term deal.
  12. I deleted "or guy", but whatever it takes!
  13. It's a positive he's from Kansas and not the Eastern US, as I could see some Eastern teams offering him the most money. Best thing could happen he finds himself a Wpg. girl, that's one of the reasons Desjarlais went to Ottawa.
  14. Demski signed a 3 year deal this past Feb., he ain't going nowhere. As for resigning Schoen, it depends on what his goals are, winning a cup this season would sure brighten the odds of retaining him.
  15. They do under The Sports Cage, it's hard to find and never worthwhile, I can only take 5 minutes of Ball whining.
  16. He already missed the boat, the loss to the Crummy RB's was the upset of the year.
  17. Crum is all out of magic tricks, I don't see Ottawa winning another game with him at QB, wonder if they will replace him with Tyrie Adams when he gets healthy. Arbuckle is healthy but doesn't even seem to be a consideration, how pitiful is that?
  18. Sadly it's up to Zach as a leader, he's been on a bit of a roller-coaster this season, perhaps trying to do too much at times when he just needs to settle down and play smart football. I don't know if he feels challenged competing with another elite QB like Kelly in the league trying to steal his MOP crown, but his performance has been inconsistent. Having Harris in the backfield took some of the pressure off him to lead, maybe Brady can grab the bull by the horns and take charge when Zach is a bit slow off the mark.
  19. O'Shea commented on a similar situation within the last few weeks, can't recall exactly which game but the challenge was also made late in a blowout, so maybe against the Als in week 12. To paraphrase, he said the score does not matter, he will support his player if he thinks they have a reasonable chance of the call being over-turned. In that instance he challenged and won.
  20. HH for Johnny A, showed what he is still capable of doing when given the rare chance. Next week, probly back to no touches again.
  21. You have a vivid imagination if you think GM's are continuously trying to raid other teams PR lists, the gentleman's agreement works very well at limiting this activity to the frequency of once in a blue moon.
  22. It happened last month, former Bomber lineman Jakob Szott was picked off the Riders PR by the Ti-Cats. Prior to that may have to go back a few years when the Lions lost O-linemen Zver and Guy to Chris Jones when he was with the Riders. Generally the gentleman's agreement is followed, which helps maintain the stability of the roster and provides teams a bit of shuffle space to manage human resources.
  23. The offence may be explosive but it's also simplistic, it relies on the athletic heroics of Brady pounding and Zach running and gunning from the hip, if a team trips up either of them the offensive game plan falters. People like to say LaPo ran a boring ball control offence, true, but it was much more calm, consistent and relied a lot less on desperation passing. Last game the Bomber offence performed a lot like Jake Maier with under 3 minutes to go in a game, every completion was a life-safer and every incompletion a heartbreaker.
  24. That's the ideal and maybe the way it all started, but we have no idea how well their relationship is functioning at this point in time. Every marriage starts out strong but not all last, I guess we'll get a good indication of the status of their relationship if Walters reups or decides to move on.
