  1. This morning when I came into work there was a homeless guy sleeping in front of the front door of our office building. When someone woke him up he pissed and **** himself simultaneously, then walked away. If he refuses to elevate himself by trying to use the myriad social programs available in this country to get help, are you saying that everyone should just sleep in front of buildings and piss and **** themselves, because no one deserves to be elevated above him? That's what you are saying? That's a poor example to highlight in your argument without knowing what the cause of his homelessness is. Very high probability that he has base mental health issues that are not being treated by our current health system and he is left to fend for himself. Withn MB. I know of mental health facilities that have been shut down in both Portage and Selkirk as cost savings without reasonable support being provided to the evictees. If grandpa loses his mind the immediate family can usually step up to ensure his well being but there are a lot of people in this world that don't have that family support to begin with. Don't know anyone that could have ended up homeless??? Just dig into your family tree, you won't have to dig very deep..
  2. Great, that ties the Bombers for last place in the media dept. with the rest of the laggards behind Hamilton and the Riders. Don't want to blame Darren Cameron solely....but I will, as he is the only media representative for the Bombers I know of but his recent blog update was reminiscent of content that could have been presented in the 1980's. Time to step up the presentation Big Blue, providing a handful of interviews and no actual footage of TC is inadequate imo.
  3. I know what you're saying but your definition of what constitutes "tv" is outdated and a little too broad. There is no such thing as "free" TV anymore as the broadcast signals available to antenna have been virtually cut off. Everyone that wants to access broadcast media has to pay for cable or an Internet connection at least. Why is it too broad? It is what it is. Content providers are free to choose their delivery methods and set the price points they want. This gives consumers 2 choices. Either accept the delivery model and pay for it at the price point they set or do without. It's up to the "industry" to adjust. Not the consumers. Consumers consume...generally they will want it at the best price. And nothing beats free! So unless the industry adjusts and gives the consumer what they want, they'll continue to get it as best they can. (See music industry) In this case stream it online for free, rather than paying at least $70 a month for a bunch of crap they don't really want. This poster is a part of a growing population (myself included) who don't pay for cable because they already pay for internet, and everything is available online. Some for a smaller fee, others for free. The more you say, providers choose what we get. The older/more out of touch you sound. Cable is dying. Streaming is the future. Give us streams! I also hate cable but I don't see how you can get "everything" without stealing. I know it is common for people to steal music and steal movies but how do you steal live sports channels. I have seen stolen sports streaming content and it sucked. And you know stealing is still stealing even everybody does it. I know the intellectual content that I generate is only useful to a limited number of people but I would not be happy if my work was used by someone else at no cost. I enjoy netflix but I am not getting live sports content there just so you know I am not against streaming just illegal streaming. I'd suggest, if you don't want something stolen and used without permission, don't put it online. And generally streaming sports does suck. Which is why it would be great if there was an option to pay for online CFL streams that were HD No kidding, last year I missed out on at least 10 minutes of every game frantically scrambling to find the most reliable stream. I'd happily pay TSN for access to their streams without the cable tie-in just to avoid the hassle. The Canadian business establishment was built on rules of collusion to supply quality goods and services to a huge, sparsely populated country. In today's global economy protectionism of markets is slowly being eroded and as that occurs more and more of these companies will be bought out by foreign multi-nationals that dwarf Canadian companies in scale.
  4. I think there is something to this statement. Walters may be trying to prove a point, although it's hard to say what exactly that point is. The peculiar thing to me is that they signed Yantz to a 3 year contract, so I suspect they intend to keep him around even if it is on the PR.
  5. It is possible that their plan @ #4 has been Jordan Yantz all along and that the battle for a QB position has been between Marve and Portis. Keeping a qb you're not giving reps to? That just seems a dumb idea when trying to develop a player. But that's just the point. If you've decided to make him your 4th QB already, then you have to make a decision on the other 2 QBs..which one to keep.. How? By splitting their reps and seeing how they do. Yantz gets his work in practice and his development, as a CFL-ready QB, may not be as far behind as some think. Is it a dumb idea, or forward thinking? It's a theory. I just don't see it as a good idea at all. There is no benefit to a canadian qb so why decide on a guy who is likely behind the others in terms of development anyway and not give him reps? What if it turns out he's a terrible qb at this level? Wouldn't it be better to figure that out now than in the event they ever get that far down the depth chart? If they made that decision it's a bad decision. Yantz because has a strong accurate arm & good football smarts ... could develop into a Russ Jackson In today's CFL Russ Jackson couldn't even develop into a Russ Jackson.

  7. This is a stupid post, TSN is part of the basic cable package everywhere is it not? This is just people whining about not wanting cable and that sort is entirely screwed up in their thought process. I want to watch TV but I refuse to pay the price to get tv channels so I can watch TV. Netflix won't last as it is forever, content owners are already looking at ways to have their services themselves. Netflix itself has even stated that it's goal long term is to become HBO faster than HBO can become Netflix. They are putting a lot of emphasis on their own original content rather than getting bent over trying to get other content providers to license them content. It's going to be cable packages on the internet rather than TV in the future and that's a damned shame. I don't want to watch TV and I don't want cable. I want to watch CFL football and nothing else but happy to pay for that option. What's so stupid about that?
  8. There is a good article on 3downnation on the streaming of CFL games. http://3downnation.com/2015/06/15/online-streaming-a-must-to-attract-millennials/#comment-29975\ Here is one relevant comment on the above story that I agree with 100%. "Agreed, however, it will also help if the board of governors puts pressure on their broadcasting partner to make their product available to more than just the cable subscriber. There are many others, including people outside of Canada, that would pay a fee to stream CFL games. Bell, TSN and the CFL are missing out on a major revenue stream IMO. For now, I'll find free ways to watch. However, I would gladly pay for this service so I can get an HD quality stream to put up on my big screen. I won't pay for a cable subscription that gives me a package of channels I'm not interested in. A great example of this is netflix. Anyone can download movies and tv shows for free. However, netflix is a cheap enough option that means I don't have to spend the time and effort to download movies and tv. $70 / month for cable? no thanks. $9 / month for netflix? sure, I can live with that. $10-$20 / month for CFL? sign me up. Until a CFL subscription is available, that $10-$20 per month will stay in my pocket."
  9. Walters is the man paying for our lap dances. Is that why Lapo was recently at practice? So Lapo likes his strippers and lap dances?? Crimony, you have no idea. Back when the Tourist Hotel lay beneath the Provencher Bridge I used to see LaPo in there on a regular basis. Put a couple of Carlings in him and he can't keep his shirt on past the first dance. There's no disguising it, once you've seen LaPo shakin' it in a string you are truly damaged for life.
  10. Maybe we can petition O'Shea to wear a GoPro on his head?
  11. Walters is the man paying for our lap dances.
  12. Hopefully Ti-Cats fans do enough caterwauling that the team takes it upon themselves to stream the game again. If Bomber fans tried caterwauling they would just send out O'Shea to stare at us until we crawled away weeping.
  13. With his demeanor and reputation Picard is going increase the flag count substantially. Won't be surprised if he doesn't become a fan favourite around this neighborhood.
  14. Sounds like Zach will not be 100% this year, hopefully they they can use him in rotation and spare further agravation to his injury. Who else besides Jake Thomas can rotate inside?
  15. You should have stumbled over and puked your Maui mai tai all over their transmission device. Opportunity lost.
  16. Not that important really, in that situation a flag will effectively advance the ball to the one yard line now.
  17. The same thing is said every year and yet Peach keeps going and going and going....
  18. A guy with his physical traits and background never gets to BC, let alone here, without red flags. I had low expectations. Please exfoliate on that comment? Lol... To "exfoliate" on it, a guy with height, supposed speed, and being out of a successful, prominent, D1 NCAA school, not being able to stick on an NFL roster, nor be brought back by the Lions, there must be some serious flaws in his game. Well you could be right, but who knows. An intangible like a bad attitude is all it takes to get cut these days.
  19. A guy with his physical traits and background never gets to BC, let alone here, without red flags. I had low expectations. Please exfoliate further on that comment?
  20. Shocked that Tuenei was the first receiver to be cut as he was the proven commodity amongst the bunch. Thought they would cut Clemons, Veltung, Willie, Logan or even Adams before him. Also surprised cutting Quinn Everett as he was a 2014 draft pick and spent last year in college ball so he has had no professional development time. Anyone think he is destined for the P.R. for further development?
  21. Very hard to cut the Peach, team leader and one of O'Shea's favourite sons, plus his motor runs on nitro.
