Uh how bad do we have to be before we get permission to be negative?Less than 5 wins?Just curious....I know everyone would rather scream and yell and mope and, generally, be negative about the state of the franchise right now, but there is still a game to be played.
Here's hoping that the new kid shows some promise and gives us something to look forward to going into next year...

I tend to look at it another way if we were all singing roses about this regime would there be any reason to get better?But I respect where your coming from.I just don't understand what good it does to piss and moan. It's all good...perfectly within your rights to do it, I'm just saying I don't see the need for it and don't gain anything from it. So many on here have become completely irrational and just negative for the sake of being negative. It serves no purpose, other than to make this board virtually unreadable...

If your win loss record reflects who you retain as an assistant how can it not point to a problem with the HC decision making process?I think it's more of a sign that nobody was really available to come here. People can say Cortez or Chapdelaine or Maas but... I really don't think they were legit options for us. Maybe MOS did want to get rid of bellefool but nobody was really available to replace him. Maybe the decision to keep MB was all 3 of miller Walters and MOS. MOS can say what he wants in the media but.... who knows really what he wanted to do. Keeping MB was a bad decision but I don't think it's a sign he's a bad coach. If MB is fired soon then MOS has learned. That's all you can hope for as a coach. The O failing isn't on MOS... it's on MB.

Ok I'm curious would you possibly want to see Brohm again?Or are you just stating what you think MOS might do?Davis is a rookie, he shouldn't start but he should get at least a quarter if not more, just to see what he's all about in game time, see if he's worth keeping or not, All the QB's should get some reps for sure.
Personally, I'd start Nichols, play him for a bit, play brohm a bit and then play davis the rest of the way. Maybe a quarter each for Brohm and Davis.
Play some of the rookies who have been around on the PR all year.

I'm really beginning to think Petan should go down to the Moose.They need his scoring and he would get huge minutes.I trust Chevy and Maurice though and I'm sure there is a good discussion what's best for Petan.Just wish we would see more of him.

Davis should start no?Best guess is that 95% of the normal starters will be starting this week. Maybe a couple of new guys, but I don't expect to see Picard or Brohm or Davis starting. I'll pull on my Jersey and drink some wobbly pops one more time this year then sigh as I put it back in the closet until next year.

That kinda stuff really chaps my ass. As a rural-MBer, I'm certainly not always a fan of Winnipeg, but I will always defend it against people who aren't from the province who want to **** on it. Kane can get ******...good riddance.
Read the hockey news and all you need to know about Kane and what he thought about this city is spelled outBogo seems to have a body type that will always have some sort of injury, don't know why but sure does keep him off the ice a lot
All I can say is, from some of the things I've heard, glad he's in Buffalo. Same goes for Kane. Talk about a fleecing.

Nope didn't say he was bad but his career in the NHL has been avg at best and for a high no. 1 the scoring just isn't there. Good defence but do you draft a first round winger for that?
He has always had potential but has never been a good player in the NHL. Maybe being drafted so high has hurt him with expectations.Burmistrov has been all over the ice handling his responsibilities. He was a good player before, but for Noel. It wouldn't surprise me for Burmi to keep trending upwards..
You guys are nuts... never been a good player in the NHL come on now. So you are saying Paul Maurice has zero judgement on talent and he had numerous guys who could of taken that spot on the club and since he is incompetent he simply plugged in Burmistrov because everyone else sucked?
I can accept that he wasn't worthy of a early 1st round draft pick knock against him, but to say he's a bad NHL player is ridiculous.

Maybe Wades not emasculating MOS but pushing him to grow a set in the way he operates re his coaching staff?if this report is accurate, it undermines both Walters and O'Shea and goes a long way towards making Walters thing very hard about the U of Guelph job. If O'Shea chooses his own people, he is dues either praise or criticism for how things turn out. If he is being told who he should have, it emasculates him and absolves him of any responsibility. If he still has any pride left, he ought to resign, and this seems to explain why this team has been so screwed up for so long, just like when Bauer was here.

OK, but if they are back, and you don't take the year off, will you change your handle to backtracker?If either of these clowns is back next year as anything other than stadium ushers, I will be taking the year off from following them. I went to a couple of games this year (they lost both games) and I will not stand witness to another season of debacles.

Unfortunately this is true. You would think the way some people around here talk about MoS is this guy is a great coach just needs all the stars to align to reveal his genius.I expect consequences for this debacle of a season. If I'm Wade Miller, I fire Danny McManus and lure a top notch scout away from another team. I, aslo, hire a Tom Higgins type of guy as a director of player personnel and hold Walters feet to the flame. Put him on notice that he better do better. I don't fire Walters or O'Shea but make sure I have people at the ready to take over.
If I'm Walters, I talk to O'Shea and demand the firing of MB and let him know his replacement must come with his approval and had better be a good one. I find a blue chipper scout and either add him on or replace McManus/Goveia. I let a lot of our pending non NI FA's walk and sign Andrew Harris and OL help. I sign Bilikudi and dump Hurl. I make every effort to re-sign Matt Nichols or another experienced backup.
If I'm O'Shea, I turf the entire offensive coaching staff. They suck. I get a top notch ST coordinator as well.as a QB coach for Willy and Nichols. Nichols, seemed to have trouble getting into a groove early in ball games and I think that was mostly mental on his part. A good QB coach may have been of great assistance. I, also, walk into Walters office and demand that he sign a gamebreaker on offence. We simply have no one that the opposing defence needs to fear. We need that type of player that changes how opposing defences would like to play against you, into how they have to play against you. We don't have that. We need it desperately. Andrew Harris immediately comes to mind. He keeps opposing defences on their heels.
This, of course, is just a preliminary list but it's where I'd start, I don't believe that firing Walters or O'Shea lends any credibility to our team at all and is something we should try to avoid. Not saying they don't deserve a good public rebuke or that the organization shouldn't put in a first class exit strategy in place for their future dismissal. However, I believe we should stay the course with improvements made of course. We simply cannot continue to be the organization that continues to hire and fire every second year. That could cost us far more then keeping these guys on. We must show stability for once in the past decade or we immediately revert back to being a joke again. We can avoid that. The problems of our current coaching and management are not insurmountable, they just need more of and a better supporting cast....much like the core group of players that we will keep.
Fantastic analysis! I would just add that you need to give your relatively inexperienced GM and head coach some leeway to make mistakes and correct them. In Walters' case, he needs to enhance/replace the scouting staff.
In O'Shea's case, he needs to replace his OC and maybe more of his offensive staff. I think part of the problem with O'Shea has been his deference to his more experienced coordinators, but now that he himself has gained more experience, he should be more confident to pull the trigger on needed changes. I really do think that it's tweaks that we need, not wholesale changes. If you bring in a capable OC (and a left guard), the offense scores more points and stays on the field longer, which makes it easier to play defense, and all of a sudden, you have a playoff team.
O'Shea has his flaws, for sure, but there's something to be said for the fact that his players seem very loyal to him, and has created a fair amount of loyalty to the club (see the long-term extensions signed by players this season). That said, I would only give this regime one more year. If they can't improve next year, then it's time to move on.

He has coached the Bombers to a winning record over Montreal and players like all the hugs and kisses he gives them.The problem with your posts Iso, is that they are too logical.
Posts are to be based on how you feel about a player/coach/manager, and who you like, or don't like.
I would like to see someone to post a detailed list of the accomplishments of the head coach over two seasons.

You can put Frolik anywhere in the lineup including pp and pk. Makes his linemates better that's a quote from Maurice. Jokinen was the worst free agent we ever signed no comparison. We hopefully replace Frolik by committee Ehler's offence Burmi's defence.Wasn't Frolik getting 2nd line minutes with the club? Frolik maxed out at what 42 points on the 2nd line with us? Hardly a huge point getter IMO. Ehlers will more then likely surpass that in his rookie season making a fraction of the price.
As I said before.... Olli f'ning Jokinen had more points in a season then Frolik so does this mean we have to bring him back also and that it was a huge mistake for not over paying him?

How about instead you bet will MoS be able to get a top notch OC to come here to this mess? They will look how MoS ties their hands with his personnel decisions and dresses 8 Lbs when we sadly lack Rec or oline help and go thnks but no thnks. Or dresses liram and a import kicker who can do all 3 jobs. We ain't getting any decent OC to come here while MoS is here period.
You have no idea if what you are saying is true or not. Coaches don't go anywhere expecting to have a permanent job. They always expect to get fired at some point. I'll make you a bet, if MB is still here like you say he will be, then I won't come here anymore...otherwise you have to go....a bet?
To be replaced with who? Three coordinators fired in 2 years. Who will come here? People that want to keep MOS because we can't attract quality HC's as they get fired yet want MB fired are just kidding themselves. No quality assistant coach will want to come here because all 3 coordinators hired by our brilliant HC will have been fired if Bellefeuille goes. So MB has to stay because no one better will want to be here. This is what happens when you hire crappy head coaches.If they fire MB that will be a huge win in my books.

Nope I agree with Goalie no scoring threat from Burmi at all but is better defensively than I thought. Will shake out as fourth line guy tops. Petan has way more upside but Maurice is bringing him along slowly for now.

Everyone over reacting after a loss but overall this is good news. Walters, MOS and Hall back is good. Tweak from there. New OC and a few weapons and we're a different team.

Yea but your now saying Hall should go too. When does the buck stop at the person responsible for hiring these assistants? I get it he's a good guy, great to his players but he ain't a good HC the record speaks for itself.Useless for sure but not sure firing him earlier would have made a huge difference. Same O I'm sure but different guy calling the plays doesn't change a flawed system
