  1. I only watched the first quarter so I have to watch the rest of the game. Like the score and happy Nichols got us a win but then again these are (still) the worst two teams the CFL and from DoD's description it's pretty obvious why (with five TO's in the first half the bombers should have been out of it and would have been if it were any other team than SK).

    All I know is....

8 to 2 with McDavid only getting two points over the Canucks

6 to 3 with McDavid not playing against the Flames (who beat the Jets on Friday)

Would be nice to see an Oiler rookie sweep by hammering the Jets on Monday with McDavid having a 6 point game. Oh wait, this if football..... meh just can't get into it. Maybe if the Bombers can win another two in a row, I'll start paying more attention again

Stay in Edmonton with your boy, McDavid.
    Or is he McDavids boy?
  2. Ha, ha. Sure. My responsibility. Don't be so high & mighty. This is an internet board not a journalism class. I say I read it somewhere, you say you don't believe me by basically calling me a liar. Well then, if you're so offended by it then you continue to look because I'm sure not. I have never posted rumours here about anyone or anything in the past. So, like I say if you want to play school teacher here then you find it. I don't answer to you here.

Obviously your message board etiquette needs some brushing up.

Then you find it if it means so much to prove me wrong.

The burden of proof is on the person making the claim. You don't get to call things facts without being prepared to source that claim.

The 5 people who liked that post and myself agree.

BTW, Iso, at the press conference when O'Shea was hired, O'Shea and Walters both said they were "teammates" - not friends, not roommates.

Bill Frank posted the link proving they were friends, looks like you owe iso_55 an apology no?
  3. Nobody's disputing how great Doug Brown is, and I'll tell you right now that 17to85 is one of the biggest DB97 fans there's ever been. All he's saying is that he needed to be motivated differently than some others...now, sometimes that's Ritchie, kicking his ass, or maybe it was Greg Marshall (who changed DBs career by making him a true Nose Tackle for the first time in his career) that was a true fire-breather, or maybe it was Richard Harris, who, at times, I'm sure could put a boot in your ass.

There's more than one coach on the team for players to respond to....and there's a lot of evidence to support the fact that Doug Brown was the kinda guy who needed an ass kicking rather than a hug, and maybe....just maybe........he expects the same from every other player, whether right or wrong.

Show me the evidence the guy was consistent throughout his career didn't matter if it was Ritchie or Lapolice.Maybe he preferred it because he thought it made for a more competitive team but he didn't NEED it to perform. The proof is in his career as one of the best dlinemen to have played in the CFL.
  4. Doug Brown is also a bit of a different player. He's the kind of guy who needed an ass kicker as a coach which is why he liked Dave Ritchie, but that's not a common thing.

I call BS on this. Doug Brown was a consumate pro always ready to play. You forget he was in the NFL before being an all star here? Check your facts before you make a silly statement.

Doug playing in the NFL and being a consummate pro (both facts never disputed in 17's post) have zero to do with the way he responds to coaching... some guys prefer an ass-kicking coach... some prefer a more encouraging one... Doug Brown responded to ass-kicking coaches...
Then how do you explain all star selections under different styles of coaches? Doug Brown was a pro didn't matter who the coach was, he left it on the field. Just like Milt they were ready to play no matter what.Read 17 -85 post he said Doug Brown NEEDED a tough coach to perform I say Bulls hit.

  7. Well looks like MOS ain't going anywhere same as Walters according to Miller's last interview he thinks we are heading in the right direction and that it's going to take time to turn this around so unless MOS changes the way he operates MB is here at least until the offseason as well.

  8. Miller was on the Hustler and Lawless show this week and he said what they do may not be popular and too slow for the fans and the BOD, but they are going to so things the right way. It was never elaborated in the interview what the right way is. I'm assuming it means not trading away draft picks and continuing to build through the draft.

Only Way to build Canadian talent really... but it's the import talent that is lacking or maybe it's not and on O in particular it's just being used wrong
Well it sounded to me that it's Walters and MOS show and Miller's 100% behind them and that the team is on the right course. Looks like it's gonna be up to the BOD if there is going to be any changes we have to be patient according to Miller.
  9. I see no reason to pull Brohm. He didn't lose the game for us.

He didn't take the contact the kicker penalty

He didn't take any of the 17 or so penalties

However I would love to know if he can throw a ball more than 10 yards

If I lived in Wpg I would kidnap MB and lock him in the basement of some house on Higgins until the end of the season

Let's talk about the contact the kicker when u use a guy (Willie)a Rec who obviously doesn't know how to angle at the punter so if you miss the punter you don't contact him who's fault is that?

Well when we recovered that weird out of bounds by Demski, Brohm did nothing when he had to score. That I put on him.Gotta put it in.
  11. I don't hold out much hope of signing Muamba. Not because we wont be competitive with our offer. But I believe he'll give strong consideration to the eastern based teams so he could play closer to family.

I hope I'm wrong but I just have a gut feeling that I'm right.

Note to Iso...If Walter's isn't successful. It also means that 7 other GM's couldn't get it done either. So give up on your personal vendetta against the guy.

How many games has Kyle Walters won since he took over? I'd argue our Canadian & especially our American talent isn't a lot better under Walters than it was under Mack who had one...ONE.. lone scout in the US. Look at our quarterbacking situation. The team was in full panic mode last week & until we traded for Nicholls was the worst in the CFL by far. Our OL hasn't improved despite paying big bucks for Picard & Bryant. According to CFL Cap Geek we are the highest paid team in the CFL. What do we have to show for it? No, I don't think Walters has done a good job. It's not a personal vendetta.
American talent you may have a point on but Cdn talent takes time and I think Walters is moving in the right direction.
  12. We won and if the season ended Monday we'd be playoff bound. Not quite the basement bowl really. BC and Montreal both have 4 wins. We beat them both. Mtl needs more points than us or BC to crossover. It's crazy but yup... 4-6 would be a playoff spot.

Wow I gotta give you credit Goalie you never change your tune.Heres hoping the Bombers reward your faith.
  13. Montreal has a good defense and that's the result of good recruiting.

They have a respectable offensive line with some good canadian talent and that's the result of good recruiting and drafting.

All those injuries at QB are a little beyond Popp's control. He is now starting a 4th stringer in Tanner Marsh.

While he has seemed to make quite a few hasty and questionable decisions of late, he deserves a few years to see if he can build the team into a Grey Cup contender. The franchise has made the playoffs every single year of it's existence, dating back to 1994. 9 Grey Cup appearances, 4 Grey Cup wins...he will get the benefit of the doubt if the team fails to make the playoffs. He just needs to leave the coaching to others.

Nice post bang on.When they get Cato and Crompton back look out.
