Thought they've done that all season long. Other teams do it too usually during the 1st minute of PP.
Usually in a 1-1 game with 10 min to go no most great coaches think about making sure you don't give up an easy one at the end of a game....esp shorthanded which is a backbreaker...
-
Well Pomo showed u great game poor special teams....and Buff wasn't great...10 min to go 1-1 and your putting a forward on d for the pp? Oh well the special teams will get better eventually under Pomo.?

Though Walter's could really piss off some people here and grab Picton in the second round....I can hear the groans...??

Hey the singers for this game look like a tall, medium and large....??

Sorry, I forgot about Ryan Lankford so cutting Richards is a possibility if in fact he's the worst of the lot. As it stands they have JFG, Richards, Coates, Lankford and whoever they pick up in the draft to cover one, maybe two positions.
Lankford is an international though...

They played together and are friends. When Miller was released, Nichols tweeted at him hoping that he would come to Winnipeg. I'll pull up the tweet later, when I can.
Nichols commented how much he learned from Miller.
Hey thnks for that insider info ...nice to see Nichols reach out to a former teammate and help the Blue as well?

Every Gm makes a bad call on a draft especially in the CFL where there are so many variables....and we are not 100% sure yet that Richard's is a bust. Walter's has turned this franchise around from a laughing stock to a competitive team with 2 first round picks this year...if we get burnt on Richard's meh who gives a rats ass really....I'll take this regime over the last 4 any day of the week...thanks.

Lol. Maurice goes long b4 Chevy and ppl can pretend fan pressure this or that... it means nothing. The Jets aren't gonna be making moves just to keep a vocal minority who tend to complain about everything happy... that might have worked for bomber teams in the past but it won't work for the Jets. First the media need to start asking questions... they won't tho. Besides what do you want him to do? Sign FA's who have better options than Winnipeg? I like it here but I could see why millionaires with families might not have Winnipeg as an option 2 come 2.
It's funny cuz most people with realistic expectations at the start of the year had them fighting for a wild card spot... they beat st Louis Friday and they are 3 points behind them. Will they make the playoffs? Probably not but a win Friday starts to make you go hmm
Any other team and this tandem are lucky to be still around...one playoff in 6 years and no playoff wins? Unacceptable in most market. Chevy has made some great drafts and one really good trade but we are starting to look a little like the Oilers of recent history...lots of promise no results...Chevy has made some questionable hires as coach and signed some players to long term contracts that have hurt us. Losing Ladd for nothing right now has hurt us as well. Yep Chipman loves Chevy but if we go 2 more years and still no playoffs I don't see how Chevy survives....

This quite the problem indeed.
Josiah St. John - plays for the Riders
Philip Gagnon - plays for the Allouettes
Brandon Revenberg - plays for the Ticats
Brian Jones - plays for the Argos
Charles Vaillancourt - plays for the Lions
Alex Singleton - plays for the Stamps
Jason Lauzon-Seguin - plays for the redblacks
Tevaun Smith - drafted by Edmonton, signed by the Colts, cut and moved to PR, since released and re-signed with Colts to a futures contract
Trent Corney - plays for the Bombers
Micheal Couture - plays for the Bombers
Wayne Moore - plays for the Allouettes
Anthony Thompson - plays for the Lions
DJ Sackey - plays for the Argos
Mercer Timmis - plays for the Ticats
Juwan Brescacin - plays for the Stamps
Mikael Charland - plays for the redblacks
Arjen Colquhoun - drafted by Edmonton, signed by Cowboys, injured and released. Not sure where he is. Best guess is he'll re-sign with Dallas for another crack when healthy.
So that's all the picks in the first two rounds. Every player is playing for the CFL team that drafted them except Edmonton's two picks. Tevaun Smith has been released two or three times already by the Colts. What will the wait on him be? One more year?
I know the Andy Mulamba situation has scarred some people, but this isn't the huge problem you are making it out to be.
Your missing the point ....teams are targeting is this player going to stick in the NFL ?and drafting based on that assumption. To the point that players drop down in the draft if their is a concern. Pointing out after the fact doesn't help the teams at the draft. There is more and more Cdns sticking in the NFL....and how do we compete as a league is the reality.

As far as the draft goes I think we need to seperate it even further from the NFL DRAFT so that all the Canadian prospects have plenty of time so sign up for a tryout with an NFL club ... then say in early to mid May have a draft of the unsigned Canadians ... and then after that have a draft of the NFL signed players who would then stay on the clubs' neg lists ... less guessing and a lot more fair ... who cares how we used to do it; lets do what actually makes sense
This is a least a step in the right direction.....gotta do something. What's the point of rating the top 10 if half stick in the NFL?
-
Yes just saw on Twitter our goals against per game has gone up since the start of the year.... from less than 3 per game to well over 3.....yea that's cause Myers has been out the whole year??? well sign him to an extension Chevy .....PM has done wonders the last 2 years......the Jets fans can wait a couple more years to get to the playoffs no problem...??
-
Well as usual people see what they want to ,where is it mentioned less Cdn talent ? Just less that HAVE to start. If we guarantee so much of the roster is Cdn it's still mostly cdn players on it? Just looking at ways to give teams in the CFL the ability to survive....how can these teams survive when the Draft has become a total crap shoot between if these players can play or who you lose to the NFL?

If they keep Maurice, he needs to clear out his assistants.
I don't understand this...his assistants are under Maurice's direction...really what difference would it make...never heard of a great HC who was saddled with assistants that affected his coaching ability.

I would rather watch a Canadian player from Sarnia, ON or Vegreville, AB than an American from Detroit or Houston. Yup- I am a homer.
Me too is why I suggested keeping the ratio as an overall roster management tool not a guaranteed starting ratio tool for Cdns...we still have to have Canadian players and would still benefit if they could start.. just wouldn't guarantee that they have to start.

I would bet that fewer homegrown players would translate to fewer Canadian viewers of CFL games- it would diminish the appeal for me.
Unfortunately how many homegrown players stay with the same team anymore? We draft ,develop then they usually take off as a free agent for bigger bucks...it's almost like we guarantee a certain amont of Cdn players will get the big bucks (relatively speaking) plus the NFL is now competing in the draft for the best Cdn something is gotta give....

I don't see the ratio ever going away... I think if the CFL ever adds another team, a change to the ratio might be in consideration... but that's about it...
No still need the ratio just referring to starting cdns....why not just have a certain number of cdns on the roster instead...

Why can't they just watch from the stands like the rest of us?
No but they don't need to be coddled ethier..we have come a long way to competing with American players right from University it's time to rethink our game that was based in another Era..

Should probably just realize that Chevy is safe for probably a very long time
Unfortunately I agree with you and also that he will probably resign Maurice ...and still be safe....?

You know it's really time the CFL looks at reducing the required amount of Cdn who have to start...why do they have to start? Make so many that have to be on the roster instead, cause year after year CDN players are holding CFL teams to scrambling in the draft and having to pay big bucks for key positions in free agency...why should the CFL be required to start Cdn players when they have to now compete with the NFL who have no restrictions and make billions of bucks? Times are a changing, the CFL to survive needs to change too imo.

Chevy ain't going anywhere
On paper a top 4 of
Buff Morrissey
Trouba Toby
It should be better. D zone play is awful.
Why not go
Buff Morrissey
Postma Toby
Shelter Chiara and Stu
It's just stupid roster decisions. Maurice has made them all year
Yeah well unfortunately Buff hasn't been great this year at all and Enstrom was brutal this game (Maurice kept putting him out there though) and it hasn't been a great year for him ethier... Chevy should stick if he fires Maurice and hires a great coach (Hitchcock?) If not I hope he goes down in flames with Maurice...if he resigns Maurice to an extension after this year he better be ready to walk the plank with him if the ship goes down.
-
We are as bad defensely as we were starting the year.. no improvement...that rests with whom? Cheveldayoff your ass and fire this guy already....man we suck at home...??
-
Oh yeah Maurice throw Hellebuyck under the bus for brutal play from our d......how long do we blame the players for a poor passive defensive schemes...the points on the opposition have all day to shoot even on 5 on 5....wow ..and we are gonna reward this guy with an extension...hopefully this proves that the so called genius of Cheveldayoff is definitely in question... time to clean house all around maybe...

Oh no I want him playing, I hope Pomo puts him on the PP as well as his stellar work on the PK...?
