2022 CFL Season - Back 2 Back Champs News
TrueBlue4ever replied to JCon's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Of all the West noms I was surprised only by Bryant because he’s been a bit hobbled and I thought Calgary or BC might get the nod due to voter fatigue. Having said that, it would not shock me to see Revenberg beat him out just for the “new blood” factor, otherwise West should win out. If any other upsets, maybe Mauldin over Lemon (although Ottawa was so bad I suspect voters will lean to the “better player on the better team” concept), and if voters think 10 games is not enough, Gittens had a very strong year at receiver and would be a worthy choice for MOC. But the video game numbers and hype train of the position should give Rourke the win there, even with more limited reps. He was hands down the best player in the league when he was in, and it’s just big enough a sample size to qualify him, IMO. -

And we have free hockey. Scheifele Connor Morrissey to start and they lose the opening faceoff. We need a song for OT and shootouts. Awaiting suggestions. PLD steals the puck after losing the faceoff and sets up Wheels on a 2 on 0, and the Jets rally to win in front of dozens of stunned Coyote fans.

Jets now pressing but bounces in the goal crease not going their way. Perfetti close and Wheeler just misses the open net tap in. The reigning Lady Bung champ needs to adjust his sights. Snake bit so far.

Jets wake up enough to tie it up with Scheifele.

1. Tyrell Ford - tight coverage, great knockdowns, sure tackling, and punishing hits. Set the tone for the whole secondary from play one. 2. Schoen - just gets open and scores. Best rookie season in Winnipeg since Selanne in 1993. 3. The running quartet of Brady (1,000 yards!), Johnny (just a pro who does his role, bides his time, and performs hard when asked), Mike Miller (first career offensive TD) and Dakota Prukop (makes things happen with his legs and put together the drive of the game). Crunch - lots of candidates but given how well the punt coverage was tonight, got to give a shout out to Nick Hallett for a couple of beauty clean submarine tackles stopping runners in their tracks. HH - @O2L for his dedication following the game from a plane, and @wbbfan for some great PBP especially, describing the defensive dominance.
