I like the action shots of players, but this photo of James West just perfectly encapsulates the man. He was a beast on the field and took his job seriously, but never seemed to take himself too seriously and always made every day a fun one. Always grinning or smiling for the cameras. Boundless spirit. One of my favourite players ever.

If the States are going to treat unborn babies as humans for the purposes of criminal charges against women, perhaps someone should bring criminal charges against the fathers for criminal negligence cause death or child abandonment, or go after them civilly for child support. I always notice these “laws” conveniently do nothing to really protect the child or help them after they have left the womb so much as they are there to punish women and dictate their bodily autonomy, all the while turning a blind eye to the absent fathers and abdicating any responsibility to them in the eyes of the law. Sometimes you need to fight these lawmakers on their own terms, and using these arcane laws against the fathers would be more effective than trying to stop them from being passed in the first place. The fear of making the men more responsible based on the very laws these male dominated legislatures want to pass would stop them in their hypocritical tracks.

It was Remembrance Day weekend 1986. Almost 8,000 showed up at the old arena after being snowed in for 3 days. Stiil the lowest crowd ever at the time, but was remarkable given the City had shut down. Basically cabin fever had hit so people did anything to get out of their houses and the game gave them an excuse.

So you want them to lose and miss the playoffs again next year. Great, I expect zero complaints in the game day threads next season then. 😁

If they are going to change the rules for OT (3 on 3, 4 on 3 PP) then they should make penalties 1 minute in OT. A 4 on 3 is so much more of an advantage than 5 on 4.

OK, before heads explode around here

So Doug MacIver, Bob Molle, Moe Eliwonibi, Dan Goodspeed, Chris Greaves, Garry Sawatzky and Cornell Piper among others, but two stand above the rest: 1 (a) Buddy Tinsley, who excelled on both sides of the ball after arriving from Baylor and the Pittsburgh Steelers, and was a team captain for 10 years and legend has it almost drowned in the infamous Mud Bowl, and this beast at #1: Bill Frank. I’ll let Speedflex offer up the bio to give him his proper due, since he witnessed his play live and I could not do it justice. But the dude was a behemoth for the time, towering over others.

There are a number of options, but I know who you want to see there.

This game is looking like a carbon copy of the Ottawa loss a few weeks ago. Look like you are dominating early, get a goal called back, other team hangs around and gets a go ahead goal midway through the third, then the defence falls apart.

Not sure if they are allowed due to copyright issues (although they did wear that look for Teemu Selanne’s number retirement in Anaheim in the pre-game warm-up).

So, 2nd intermission poll question: Should the Jets make their 3rd jersey (worn tonight) the full time jersey? A - Yes B - No C - Colours and striping, yes, but use the new logo and shoulder logo.

How many goals were offside and counted before video replay? Feels like there is a goal called back every other game now.

Well our team D allowed only 5 shots that period, and on that goal Morrissey gave it up but was back in position to handle the one on one. That goal is on Dubois, not the whole team. But if you want to split hairs, I look forward to the next time Scheifele does exactly what Dubois did and gets the benefit of “it’s a team D problem”.
