Bombers draft & FA camp prep
Not saying you are wrong, but this is the first time I've heard this. Where are you getting this info from? About 40 years of watching CFL players come and go.

Bombers draft & FA camp prep
Its not unusual for an O-lineman to have a career approaching 10 years, but if a receiver plays half that, it is seen as a good career. So an O-lineman is a better investment.

You are correct. I will now go away quietly.

New CFL Commish
Bill Maher and Ezra Levant are two sides of the same coin- arrogant, usually willfully ignorant of the facts and contemptuous of anyone who dares to disagree with them. They rely on volume and personal attacks rather than logic or reason. And both have made handsome livings telling their sycophants what they want to hear.

Maher is what passes for a liberal in the US, but he is still obnoxious. It is is possible to make your point without coming across as an arrogant twit.

New CFL Commish
Actually, there are so many different ethnicities in India, that the proper term is "Desi", which covers all of them.

New CFL Commish
An amazing diatribe from Maher calling others buttholes when he is one of the biggest anal apertures around.

He stands 6'5" and weighs 215 lbs. Could be a FB for the Bombers. He worked out as a receiver and will do the same for the esks He has the athletic pedigree, and if he makes it in the CFL, maybe with the Bombers, it would be the second CFL/NHL brother combo.

New stadium for the Stamps?
Oh, no- you were correct- he's not even in the league any more.

I'm not saying we are guaranteed to get Harris or Coombs when they become free agents, but Harris is different as he played junior football in BC and was a territorial exemption pickup for BC. He wasn't a local kid that grew up here and played their football here. Harris was born in Winnipeg and played high school football here before going to BC to play junior football. He is also here in the off-season iirc. How is that not a local kid? I didn't say he wasn't a local kid, I said that he didn't grow up here AND play his football here. The original post insinuated that Harris being born here didn't work out for him coming back to Winnipeg, comparing that to Coombs and Demski. I said it wasn't a valid comparison because Harris played his junior football in BC and had four years playing there to put down roots, make friends, and get accustomed to the place, regardless of whether or not he comes back here to visit family. That was a really badly worded sentence then because that is exactly what you wrote even if it wasn't what you meant. Yep, it happens sometimes when you try to rattle off a post before heading to a meeting. No worrys- its all gooder Inglish.

So you think the CBC should have outbid SportsNet for NHL broadcasting rights? SportsNet blew TSN out of the water with their bid. And I believe the CBC is mostly funded by taxpayer dollars. No. I believe they had an opportunity to hold onto the deal they had for Saturday games and a share of the playoffs with a reasonable offer. They took HNIC for granted and were stunned when the league balked at their offer excluding them. They were not a player for national rights. I haven't seen that reported anywhere, that CBC had an opportunity to keep HNIC rights. They did not. My friend is a mid-level management person at CBC and CBC was directed to drop NHL hockey as it conflicted with TSN and Rogers' interests.

New CFL Commish
Hardly a screwup. CBC sports was a tremendous revenue generator for the the corporation and the broadcasts were very good quality. I am impressed that he is becoming a Canadian citizen- that may well mean that he plans to be around for awhile. We need the stability and the profile he brings to the league.

Walters get this guy!
And that's probably without any sprint technique.coaching.

Stanley Bryant presser
Well he is big enough to be seen as a "bus" rather than a bust.

New CFL Commish
And he is even more tanned than the old commish. Looking forward to hearing him interviewed on one of the sports channels to learn what he sees himself bringing to the league.

Bombers sign RB Bradley Randle
As good as some of these players are as running backs, if they can catch, that makes them so much more valuable. If they can block, run and catch, they are gold.

More problems at IGF?
No doubt the new Mosaic field will not make the same mistakes as elsewhere but will find their own.

Does this mean that if Hector doesn't make the team, his uncle will sue?

Assimilation (We Are Borg?)
I've heard it said too many times that newcomers to Canada ought to assimilate into the dominant culture. This would explain why we are all wearing buckskin clothing and living in teepees.

Assimilation (We Are Borg?)
Blaikie. Ugh. Became a career politician. Like Judy Wazylicia-Leis & Steve Ashton. Couldn't stand the guy. God didn't give him a pension to sit for over 2 decades in the back benches in Ottawa but the people of Canada sure did. Unlike Mr. Harper.

From Walters' reported comments, it sounds like he is leaning towards a wide receiver.

Assimilation (We Are Borg?)
I wonder how many folks setting up these churches share the same "to each their own" attitude as you? Call up a cowboy church and ask if they perform gay marriages? I have a pretty good idea what the answer will be... WTF does that have to do with anything? Call up a Chinese restaurant and ask them if they do fondue, if they don't should they be ridiculed on a football forum? Who's ridiculing? I think organized religion has done far more "evil" in the past 2000 years than it's done good. And the more extreme/peculiar the religion, the more hateful and intolerant they tend to be. That's my opinion, expressed respectfully on a football forum. Enjoy your Chinese food. I am a regular church goer and can readily concede that religions can do and have done wonderful things for humanity. That said, it has been reported that there have been more killing over religious differences (at least that was the excuse) than any other reason.About 20 years ago, the chief theologian for the Catholic church (Hans Kung) wondered out loud in an interview whether mankind would not have been better off without organized religion. Within 24 hours of the airing of the interview, he was demoted to a small parrish in France. Religion is not the problem. It happens when politics and religion get into bed together. QFT. Unfortunately since the dark ages that has almost exclusively been the case. Even in the recent history of Canada, atrocities such as Residential schools for natives are living proof that politics and religion are a terrible mix. What about Communism, the Holocaust or Ethnic Cleansing, none have anything to do with religion, it's always about politics. Ethnic cleansing frequently has to do with religion- see the Balkans and the current conflict in Palestine. It all comes down to tribalism- "us" and "other". The point is that whenever religion and politics get together, it frequently comes down to forcing one side to to accept the will of the other.

That's why engineering firms, architects and contractors have insurance policies.
