Their OL is awful though. Reilly is mobile and tough as nails, but even with him it is starting to show.
I thought it was a factor in the last half of the season. Reilly is aging as are all of us, but next year is likely to be a further decline in Reilly's play. Maybe a change in scenery will bring back the promise Jennings showed in his first starts.

I don't necessarily hate Lapolice, and certainly I would be concerned about getting stuck with another Crowton or Bellefeuille here if he was gone. I think he is a mostly good OC, but he seems to have trouble forming good plans for big games. This happened in the 2011 Grey Cup when his offense kept sputtering, and it seemed to rear its ugly head around again in Calgary. Stamps have a good defense, but Lapolice seemed to do very little to try and catch em off guard. Nichols may never be a great QB, but I feel like Lapo could have done more to give him big play throws out there.
If we assume that the OC has to build the game plan around the abilities and limitations of the talent on the field, then perhaps this was the best that could be expected. Without access to all the game video, we cannot know where the problem(s) lie. Candor from our head coach would be helpful and appreciated by us longsuffering fans.

I can understand if we don't see any QB changes, other than perhaps more playing time for Streveler.
However, if there are no substantive changes at receiver, it will speak volumes about this team's intentions.
I assume you mean that the Bomber brain trust has taken the "this is good enough" attitude?

- In today's Freep, Doug Brown rated Matt Nichols and the bottom line is that Nichols rates somewhere between the 5th and 7th best in the league and, along with an upgrade at receiver, one of the two areas needing the most improvement for the Bombers to take the next step. I agree with this but we also need a kick returner that causes butt puckers in the opposing cover team.

I don't see Bridge starting for any team this season....
Weirder things have happened in this league.

I wonder how much physical beatings Lulay is willing to put up with before he decides that being able to play with his kids and walk to the store all by himself is more important than trying to prove himself. When he gets to the half-century mark, his body is going to feel like he is 80.

Why do I feel like we'll be 10 years and more into this regime's tenure and we'll still be saying this? Waiting for other teams to suck is a fool's gambit.
That happened to pretty much every other western team this year, but the Bombers just could not get it together. We may not get another chance for another 28 years.

I can see the other CFL teams (mostly the Bombers and Als) fighting over any receivers that get released by the Stamps.

I don't think Harris played all that badly today. Calgary's defence was clearly superior to Ottawa's offence. Once Williams busted that kick return for a TD, and then a quick TD pass, Harris had to take chances and got burned. When the RBs got way behind, they had to pretty much abandon their productive run game and that was that. Rogers and Matthews were the difference.

Absolutely, but those four guys are all better than just about every receiver we have sans Adams.
I don't think you have to qualify that statement.

BLM is a great CFL quarterback, but his job if he ever got a chance in the NFL would Tablet holder if he would be happy doing that best of luck.
But but but he would be in the NFL..... -

Hard to believe BLM could play in the NFL tbh. When he stays in the pocket he doesn't move off his first read. He's lucky all his receivers are 6'5. He's a decent scrambler, you almost want to get him out of the pocket to keep him from just chucking the ball. Easy TD on that last 2nd down if he works through is progressions but he's dead set on that outside shoulder corner route which is a tough catch for the receiver.
Apparently Mitchell is the first CFL quarterback to throw for 5000 yards without one 1000 yard receiver. Quite a feat.

Despite the weakness of the East, the RBs are giving the Stamps a better game than the Bombers did.

RBs are still in this one. Gotta stop the big plays, though.

Don't want CAL to win it but if they win BLM be NFL bound though he should have been there years ago.
But then Reilly signs with CAL as a UFA and nothing changes.
No chance as Reilly and Maas are BFFs.

Mea culpa., I haf meant to say that they would be a playoff threat to go deep into the playoffs.

Heard Bighill and Loffler are buying a bus to drive across Canada visit every team... check out the facilities, assess the various city’s museums...
It occurs to me that if Bighill and Loffler defect to BC, that would instantaneously make them a playoff team.
