  1. It's always best to plan for all CIS draft picks to spend time on the bench. It's a rare exception that can start right off the bat - even Muamba didn't get the starter job until he'd been a role player for about 24 games. If we're pleasantly surprised, so be it, but I doubt the transition from CIS to pro is so simple that Demski or anyone else can be counted on to do it. That's a good point. Kind of reminds me of that receiver that went to Calgary a few years back, can't even remember his name now. Robertson or something?
  2. I don't agree with Bender, but I do strongly feel that the Bombers should draft Demski at 2, and a lineman at 11. Demski would be a Day 1 starter, whereas a lineman, even at #2 would be a project player (see Goossen).
  3. Hahaha this made my day. Also for some reason I have Hus blocked on Twitter?!
  4. Coached against Tristan ~4 years ago. Big kid was an anchor on the interior but we were able to run it around outside him no problem. His tape shows the same, as long as he's inside he'll be alright, but anything outside the numbers and he loses contain. Hopefully Dobie can shape him into a great defender!
  5. Came in late last year, played 4 games. Seemed to be serviceable. We'll see..
  6. Scott Mitchell ‏@SUNMitchell 8m8 minutes ago According to a source, DeVone Claybrooks was in Winnipeg recently for a "meeting." #CFL #Bombers
  7. Great news, wishing you all the best!
  8. Per @mortreport to ESPN: WR Josh Gordon will explore the possibility of playing in the Canadian Football League the remainder of the year.
  9. There's only one brand of alcohol sold in SK.......Pil. You know that Simpsons ep where they're in Australia and Marge keeps trying to order a coffee and they don't understand her and keep giving her beer? That's SK...."I'll have a Kokanee..." "Pil?" "Big Rock Grasshopper, please..." "Piiiilllll...??" Hahahah Drink of choice for me is Crown & Coke.. blasphemy or not it's what I like!
  10. A sentiment I'm sure many of you can share.. There's just something deep down inside me the stokes the fires of my hate for the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Nothing makes me cringe or shudder more than at the sight of Rider green. Ever since I was a child I can remember loathing the Riders, the Bombers constantly losing in terrible fashion. The word Saskatchewan brings up terrible thoughts and hatred for our neighbors to the west. To me this rivalry is more than a football game, it's a way of living. I despise the Riders, their fans, their players, their stadium. Tonight marks a new era. Tonight the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, OUR WINNIPEG BLUE BOMBERS will march onto the field and plant the flag of renewal. Tonight we show the league that we're the team to beat, that our wins have been justly earned. Tonight, my hatred for the Riders will burn as bright as ever. But with 0:00 on the clock, I know our Bombers will do us, our city, our province, our fans and everything we stand for proud. GO BLUE!
  11. http://cfl.ca/article/bold-new-cfl-signature-uniforms-coming-soon Please oh please let it be a variation of the classic blue and white.. I sure hope we make the switch to those jerseys permanently next year.
  12. Great video, thanks!
  13. Had been following him on Twitter for ever.. but never saw him on any rosters. Quite a confusing situation.
  14. And you can't do that at IGF? Amateur. Hahaha yeah right.. might need a bigger jersey, then it'll just be like a big Mumu.
  15. Can't go to any games.. superstition tells me that I need to now watch every game in my underwear eating nachos..
  16. 6'3 211 Reminds me almost of a Nik Lewis crossing route receiver.. Can he play LB?
  17. Just a little tidbit but last night after the game at around 11:30 or so, Korey drive past me down Osborne. He was kinda staring at me (I suppose because I was in my jersey) and then sped off. I wonder how much longer he'll be in town?
  18. This is one of my earliest memories as a Bomber's fan, I was 9 at the time. When Bolden returned that INT my dad and I were just screaming and jumping up and down in the basement. Thanks for the great write up
  19. I really wish there was a definitive community answer on this.. the only reason I haven't bought Season Tickets is because I haven't found the "Section S Spirit" in any of the places I've sat. Where is everyone?
  20. My Rookie Camp Thoughts: Willy and Marve stood out as the two best QBs on the day. As previously mentioned, in the team skelly drill Marve rolled out fast and delivered a bullet to Kemp. I actually exclaimed 'Wow!'. Paris Cotton has my vote for best RB on the day, didn't seem out of place at all. REC Urritia is huge and caught everything thrown at him. Kemp dropped at least 3 in the single skelly drills, and the coaches had to scream at him to go get his dropped ball more than once. He seemed disheartened. Didn't catch much of the O-lineman other than the 4-6-8 (Right side of the line) holes seemed to be a lot more succssful than the opposite side. D-line Gatling stood out to me for his motor, he was constantly right in the scrums and never gave up on the ball. Briggs and Eisho didn't look out of place at all IMO, which is a very positive sign. DBs looked alright, most of them were beat on the deep balls but I wouldn't look into it much. Liam booooooomed a few punts, and Maher looked pretty good as well, minus a couple of shanks. Edit: I also noticed the player who was sprinting up and down the sidelines all practice.. who was it? I don't think it was Aaron Woods. But man he could fly!
