last 2 cups were punches in the mouth....we got up...albeit staggering and continued...maybe this was finally the knock-out and we have the sensability to now regroup...re-inventory things and finally learn from it and March forward
Defensively I like what we saw...and rostered if used right...with a few small roster tweeks....The Als offence didnt light us up by any means and not once drove the field....Thomas should be shelved and let the young guys earn their keep...and with Biggie and now Lawler on the 6 game...Lawson as well....no reason to not bring in Bennett and or Kongbo to totally take Jake out of the equation, as well as knowing Osh the return of our other Bennett who I am sure once healed will be right back out there
No reason why Cole shouldnt be eating 80 percent of snaps....Kramdi is always running in and around the plays...but isnt disrupting anything....or being there in time to break a play up and make an impact....tackles after the fact look good in the stats sheet but thats about it...Also still not sold on Holm....as much as others....He is poor at the physical game...is a below average tackler and some what like Kramdi...gets there a lot after the fact...I'd much prefer him playing the centerfield safety role coming over and actually taking balls away....he looked like he regressed a bit...tho he was another vet who got the no need to play" training camp too wasn't he...so he could have been rusty too
considering we knew none the guys who started on the oline in the final pre-season was really gonna make the squad...save for Lofton. (who I truly think was pencilled in from get go anyway)...we should have let the starting unit get reps as a whole for some of it...as you could see...especially in the interior they were right out of sync...Dobson took reps at center that game but why...We have Eli...who should be staring btw...and Kolo can be the back up longterm if Eli drops with injury..Not Dobson...entrench him at gaurd and let him just do that
Osh likes his underdogs...especially Canadian ones and it's preventing Eli a chance..Kolo was grabbed off the scrap heap after 2 yrs of nobody wanting him and got in due to injury..serviceable sure...great....no....weak link...yeah...and we sit Eli...top 3 center in the NFL draft if not injured....does nothing but destroy guys when in the lineup...by all accounts smart and team first....but yet he languishes....unreal
 
 
 

100%. It has increased in frequency each year. And zachs play off performances have been very consistent in not being good. 
Oh man I was at that argos game it was horrribad. Worried about the same. It's going to be really interesting to see how brown does. 
 
Brady played well. Early gaps weren't there especially but he made chicken scratch into chicken salad a few times. Needed more touches but hard to do when you keep throwing into the dirt on 2nd down. 
Yeah I'm not worried about the secondary. Couple misses on who had deep cover, but that will get sorted.

Yep. And this game should be the death of any, oh the starters don't matter! conversation. I'm good with playing for the pick but you don't need to win by 100 roster useages, you just need to be top 2. Starting 8 for most of the year would be fine. Could pad in the back end of the year if you are good too. 
Jake was taking series off mid way through the first quarter then all of a sudden it's he's out for every damn series lol. He played the most snaps of any DL. Gauthier kept getting shuffled off, but not for an IMP. Karamoko got more snaps than bridges and ayers combined. 
 
 
I do have to say, jake didn't play terribly over all. He looks down some weight. Not nearly as sloppy as last year. 
BUT, he can not be the guy playing the nose, and needs to be used sparingly. Let the imps play the nose, and let fatboi Gap rush.

I am pretty sure tho they wont publically say it...many vets aren't happy with some the things...but will keep up the all is rosey appearnace for the better of the team...but you will see it in their body language and sideline frustrations....even if thy dont realize they showing it

Wilson and Mitchell both looked like they had no clue what was happening when they were out on O.  They’ll see that pretty quick on film against their assignments.
Potentially a significant part of the issue downfield with Collaros holding onto the ball.
Clercius looked the best of the 3.
I’ll have more thoughts later….some really bad vibes off the sideline in this one though in summary.  The kind of game that will be a turning point in either direction.  Saw a lot of individual efforts and self-aggrandizing unfortunately from a couple vets.  Guys who maybe have to fill a bit of a void of core guys who departed.  Not a good look.

To be fair we didn’t really start ten. The lineup said we were going to, but we didn’t.
Jake Thomas played far too much though

Hubris is exactly the word for that one.  Years of "player x doesnt need to practice" "player y is a pro, he doesnt need reps in the pre-season"  "we dont need to use that rule, and we can start 8-9-10 canadians because we're so great" has finally come home to roost...hard.  

I hope this isn't the beginning of the end, but its starting to look like "just one more year" of running it back without any competition or contingency for the aging out of veterans has finally come back to bite us.  It could be a long season - I hope I'm wrong, but I'm worried.

I didn’t think so particularly. Decent, not great in the run game, poor in pass pro. I wasn’t impressed with either of the guards, or Lofton at RT, but at least he made that one chip on Stubblefield. 

we get a half decent offensive performance...we win that game....Defense has the horses....just get the right ones out of the stable
Kudo's to Osh for actually admitting he screwed up....Light bulb moment?....we shall see
Our D-line rotation is gonna be legit...and a strong point...If we can get Bennett signed as a Canadian rotation....less to no Jake only makes us stronger....and Ford is gonna be fine...Bonds looks legit....Cole....nothing needs to be said there and Wilson was solid but like some other vets...didnt have his sea legs....part of the Osh oopsie...
I concerned with ZC tho...rust and NOT being in game speed mode didn't help and was apparent, but also seeing some the same stuff we have seen last year already that makes me wonder if he has regressed, as these "off" games happen with too much regularity now....Hope to see in coming games some Strev looks running the actual offense too...and running if/when things break down....instances now where with ZC he seems to go in panic mode almost...and either force things for a pick...miss a guy badly or just get sacked.
BO also was not game ready and had no explosion or stamina....another coaching oversight in my opinion not involving JA more....
I still hate our punter and if we need him to actually kick us out of trouble I don't think he can, and Mitchell is not the return answer...Hopefully Smith is healthy sooner than later, plus he will be a nice piece on offence
all is not lost if the right things are done....next week will be interesting, and imagine what this place will be like if Dru out plays ZC ...and badly.....I think if we have games where we get that ZC it should be a quick hook and let Strev actually play QB....

Now I think most of tonight was squarely on not playing in preseason for most of the offensive starters, but yeah Collaros has seen some really concerning aspects creep into his game last season and tonight. We got Streveler for a reason, use him if collaros is sucking the hind teet

Yeah, there was no sadness about our loss. Both Smith & Suitor were jumping out of the booth taking delight in showing that last GC drive over & over & over. And the Philpott performance. A new superstar is born.... spit. 

I’ve said this before but I don’t recall seeing a network blatantly disfavour any sports team during a good run as much as TSN does the Bombers, especially since Cuthbert left.
 I’ll never forget the sadness in Rod Smith’s voice at the end of the 2021 cup. 

When Calgary was on top, they were all over them with awe and hyperbole, same with Montreal before that, and BC in the early-mod 2000s. I’m glad I’m not the only one who sees it. 

The Bomberss looked slow toninght. they couldn't match the overall team speed of the Als. Funny how a great returner can make even an average team great. Mitchell was no threat at all. We gave up Janarion Grant for him???? I thought the Bomber DL played alright. They did pressure fajardo & sacked him 3 times. Our secondary especially the corners were impressive. Ford & Bonds acquitted themselves well. They can only get better. As far as Zach goes, this is what happens when you don't play your starting qb the entire pre season. He looked rusty & the timing was off. Our high priced receivers looked disinterested at times & just seemed to be going through the motions. 
TSN sure loved the fact the Bombers struggled. Replayed that final GC drive over & over. Even Sean Lemon which really pissed me off. They praised everyone on Montreal constantly. Karma is a ***** Stubblefield. 

never said told you so yet....but u can smell some things....I've been in a "best room ever" situatuion before...and played for and with some coaches guys would "run thru a wall for"....until that room erodes...that wall got a bit too tough, and that coach got jettisoned...it happens....not dsaying it will here now...but a season of more questionable things...and an exit in the big game...or not getting to it even cannot be ignored

Suggesting guardian helmet no contact training camp is the same speed as a full contact game vs another team is the gem post of the day lol. 

It’s about getting up to speed. Practice with no contact is a slow soft pace. Live fire is fast and vicious. Pre season is waaay faster than tc. Tc is like flag football these days. 

You’re not going to win anything with the quarterback playing like trash.
 
Kramdi, Thomas, Kolo, Mitchell, Lofton, Chris-Ike. Gauthier. Too many jobbers on the field too much. Can’t win a whole lot with that either. 
 
It’s frustrating but very not surprising.
