Drew Willy
A lot of fans needed time to come around on Ondrej Pavelec. They said I was a hater on HF, that I didn't know hockey and that I was being bitter with one person. Well fast forward 3 years and virtually everyone is on the same page. Willys supporters will need time too. Big difference though is I find Drew an amicable, likable guy. If Drew started winning I'd be a huge fan of course. The thing that drives me the most crazy about being a fan online is some people view any criticism, no matter how on point it is, to be a "lesser fan". The cheerleaders don't seem to understand that you can think a player or team stinks but still love the logo and team and want better results.

Calgary - Canada Day
I may go if my buddy gives me a free ticket. I stopped spending money on the Bombers in Alberta years ago.

I stand by that. Montreal beat us. We're probably in the toilet with them.

Our next 5 games: 2 vs Edmonton 2 vs Calgary Hamilton This team is likely going 1-5, maybe 0-6. MOS wont survive it. Then, weeee. Another kick at a can of a new coach and system and we can look forward to another rebuild in a 9 team league. I swear to god.- Bombers Opener June 24 ... (also Laine Day!)
ah yes, the good old argument of "hey we just know better" if you watched that game, and, all of drew willys games since he became a starter for us, and you think the big issue is the O line... good luck. drew willy isnt good enough or smart enough. the pressure he endures is a product of a combination of a troubled O line, and more importantly, his own inability to make quick reads i feel like one would have to watch the games with their eyes closed to not see his panic on a nearly down by down basis. btw how was Harris behind that horrible O line tonight? surely he did terrible?- Bombers Opener June 24 ... (also Laine Day!)
Garbage offense. Defense looked .. ok. Nothing terrible. If the Bombers actually gave them a little more time off the field perhaps they'd look even better. 22 points in the CFL when your offence is never on the field is actually not bad.- Bombers Opener June 24 ... (also Laine Day!)
amazing kick by Medlock- Bombers Opener June 24 ... (also Laine Day!)
Can Willy learn how to read a ******* blitz when it's coming a mile away?- Bombers Opener June 24 ... (also Laine Day!)
Of course he is. Our D has been all over him but he's managed to put together some semblance of a ******* offense- Bombers Opener June 24 ... (also Laine Day!)
What lame excuse making. The O line is getting their ass kicked because the team knows they can blitz with impunity every play because our QB needs 8 seconds to throw the ball, and our OC refuses to try and coach that out of him- Bombers Opener June 24 ... (also Laine Day!)
Willy is a disaster so far- Bombers Opener June 24 ... (also Laine Day!)
Wow. Will our vaunted offense even score a point in the 1st half? Stay tuned.- Game Day Thread: vs Montreal Alouettes -- Friday, June 24th

It's a perfectly legitimate point. Montreal is likely the worst team in the league this season, only better than SSK if Durant gets knocked out. This is a "show me" season if there ever was one for Walters and MOS. A home loss to start the season with our schedule tightening up like it does is a terrible way to start.- Game Day Thread: vs Montreal Alouettes -- Friday, June 24th

Decision making isn't a tool like speed or strength that can be honed and sharpened with training. I was clear to draw a line at decision making and reading a defense. Let me make this analogy, it's like wisdom and intelligence. You're born with intelligence, and, you're born with certain decision making skills. You can't change either. Wisdom can be earned and gained though, and can compliment intelligence. Just like wisdom, reading a defence and being more experienced at the QB positions can help what is perceived at decision making but isn't. Call it poor risk management, I don't mind that. But decision making isn't a muscle in your brain or body that can be honed. Decision making in a snap second of time is a part of ones intelligence and capacity to process a situation. I'm not saying Drew is stupid. But he's getting close to me considering him "quarterback stupid". Maybe I'm misinterpreting it as bad reading of the D schemes and a combination of added poor risk management. Maybe. However you want to label it, Drew doesn't have enough quality of said item. And it's a little late in his career to just fix. Don't look now but he's 30 in November... this isn't a kid.- Throw the ball downfield
His game in Calgary last year was a good example of his issues. He looked great for some parts of the game, but when it was on the line he threw a terrible interception. He couldn't get a first down in the 2nd half to save his life either. His late game interceptions against the Riders too were just criminal. Of all teams to throw away the game on, the Riders, ugh. The worst. You can teach a qb how to read a defense better, you can help enhance a QB's muscle memory.. but you can't teach IQ and you can't teach "good decision making".- BC Lions @ SaskJones Implosions (preseason game)
My post may disrespect the ugliest fan base in Canada by a mile? The most obnoxious, abusive, trailer trash garbage our country has? Oh no. So sorry about that.- Throw the ball downfield
My post earlier was , definitely very tongue in cheek. Of course with any joke there's a little bit of truth an I do feel like I've been on the right side of history with guys like Willy, Pavelec, Stuart, etc. Unlike Ondrej, I want Willy to do well. I think he has good qualities and has the tools. But as others have said he simply doesn't have "it" in my opinion after watching him now for a couple years. He makes bad choices and hangs on to the ball too long. Those aren't traits that a great CFL QB can have.- Throw the ball downfield
Honestly, it's so boring be right nearly all the time when it comes to this stuff. It really takes the surprise and flavour out of life,- Throw the ball downfield
Next we're going to hear how Peyton Manning is really, at best, a hybrid pocket/scrambler lol - Patience
