  1. Riders ran a lot last year..second only to us, and wasn't an issue as to why offence sucked...it was QB'ing and Coordinating...and having to work fast behind a weak o-line...So swapping in Powell for Mason/Marshall/Thigpen and having same QB..O.C and arguably a weaker receiving corp and O-line...can't see that offence lighting things up
  2. even the starting lineup was lean with guys with any experience...a Reilly...BLM...even Harris and Nichols would have carved that up working with their projected offensive starters..wins and losses mean jack in the pre-season but losing at home...with most your starters against bubble guys and never were gonna make it guys...has to be troublesome. I know if that was reversed and we lost a similar game..I'd be very bothered and not too optimistic
  3. Best scenario is to keep it as status quo...and put McGuire on the PR as we normally have a QB there so that would be the obvious choice..Bennet offers more at this point not just as a QB and is also more familiar with the league..teams..and offence
  4. Bryant and Fenner were only guys who will have starter reps and had any signficant playing time before...so the optimism there should be tempered...but false sense of security is a good thing hahaha
  5. EXACTLY...Plus people over look the fact the right read was made and the ball went to the right "open" guy...no wind those are both caught
  6. find it interesting that the Sask media thinks their offence will be fine and that Collaros looks like the real deal after that performance, against a group of guys who largely will be cuts and PR guys..that false sense of calm and happiness will turn into dire reality in Hamilton...I don't see it and when that Ol-ine couldnt keep our D-line at bay from pressure with all our subs...imagine when the starters are in there with Biggie
  7. Nichols will be fine...has regained mobility so isn't a stationary duck and that wind last night was tough to gauge....once settled in with his o-line..his regular skill guys, and the whole playbook...I'm not too concerned
  8. mentioned many times..has best arm..throws tightest spiral...just doesn't get the reps
  9. Well we usually pr a QB so most likely lands there
  10. Well not a good sign for riders not being able to beat our cuts..riderfans gonna lose their minds lol
  11. I said way back..Walker was my dark horse.. smooth..fast in open field..nice hands...Denmarkesque
  12. Cant see Augustine not making roster..seems like he always gains good yards..plays teams
  13. Yeah those stats against nobodies ain't that impressive
  14. Against basically back ups and guys getting cut I would hope so
  15. Yeah lucky can make cuts and moves at high speed..and get to top speed in a stride or 2..he is gonna be fun to watch Also our b team offence basically seems to be doing fine against 1st team rider defence..and the b team defense doing ok too
  16. yeah I don't expect to win this based on we are more or less playing the bubble guys, or ones we need to make a decision on for the most part against what the depth chart shows is the Rider's season opener lineup save for Johnson. that being said I think this game will be more even than most Rider fans would like to see, and that cant be a good thing...especially leading into their first game on road in the Hammer where the Ctss are gonna most likely smoke them...so right off th bat their season is gonna start off with a lot of doubts
  17. I don't think the Bluebombers bottom line is driven by attendance..I bet they get a flat venue fee, and most likely profits from concessions and parking, so whatever money is brought in is straight profit
  18. Fenner will not be going anywhere...to valuable..plays all DB spots..SAM and probably the best ST'mer in CFL...
  19. ?wonder what he's waiting on/
  20. Now does this come with some type of revenue stream for this to the CFL and be part of that profit sharing provision for the players...thats the big question..I can't see them getting the rights for free
  21. and thats good depth..most likely Gray, Neuf and Couture start and one of Speller and desjarlais on gameday backing up and one on pr or 46
  22. so says..???...and yeah he probably had offers...at a low rate which what teams know he was worth...
  23. Matthews showed he could do that in his games last year...and in practice this year...I wouldn't worry about him...
  24. Harris is dressed but will probably take a few carries...a few passes...get the feel for game speed and getting hit a couple times and then be done...I'm sure we will see heavy doses of Augustine and Oliviera..and we know with Bryant what we got..why risk losing him to injury especially against a bunch of newbies doing whatever to make a mark with the Esk's...we gotta let our new guys see what they can do, and really...these guys are all pro's and not some pilons off the street...the o-line will be fine for a first pre-season game
