Odds and Sods - 2019 - Edmonton at Winnipeg
GOOD teams win stinkers...how many times over the last many years have we been on the other end of these games...times have chamged and I think we have evolved now into one of the good teams now 2 wins when in both games we havn't really put it all together yet..still feeling our way and if we continue to gel and not get too cocky can conceivably see us at 5-0 when we meet Hamilton in week 7

Odds and Sods - 2019 - Edmonton at Winnipeg
That d-line of ours makes teams have to skirt the rules to keep them at bay,

GDT: Edmonton @ Winnipeg June 27, 2019
First thing first...a sign of a good team is when you still win parts of team playing sub par...which we did...Offence seemed to be out of sync all game save for some great individual plays by some guys. Not very often Harris fumbles and loses the ball twice in a game, let alone twice in a year. Not sure whats up with Fenner, is it scheme or is it ability but he is better than that, that being said I see why we kept Rios around and not too worried about defense as a whole, they are needing some gel time and the d-line hasn't revved up yet but allowing only what..1 offensive T.D in 2 games against Reilly and Harris while not firing on all cylinders makes you just be giddy thinking of what they will do when they are firing on all cylinders. Jefferson though no fancy stats yet is a disruptive force and what he does out there, and attention he draws allows others to make plays...also he is seeing a lot of doubles and line play schemed to take him out of making big time plays...but either way it still benefits the defense as a whole. And as Mike mentioned...it's not about luck making the stops..I'll take a game plan all day allowing a team to move the ball between the 20's but if they can't score TD's thats a win. Oliviera is done for a while, it was either a bad dislocation or break of his ankle/leg as when he rolled out of the pile up it was twisted and pointing the wrong way..but we are in good shape as we have Augustine chomping at the bit, and I think right now he brings even more anyway, but sucks to lose Oliviera The o-line I think has basically solidified that they are no longer a concern and are going to be at the worst a very good line, quite possibly one of best..again once they get more games under their belts. Lucky..what can you say...get ball i his hands and give him a sliver of a seam, or any space at all and he is gonna be a threat to take it to the house at any time, and from anywhere on the field..this games was huge as teams have taken notice now and he is going to have attention on him now which will only open up space for the rest...Also even tough Nichols played a very up and down game, but the offence as whole did too...I'll still take his 3 td vs 1or zero Int and 180 to 230 yard performance when it just keeps accounting for wins

yeah good luck to him trying to cover Matthews on some deep middle plays..

2019 CFL Season: Around the League
obviously most teams didn't see much value in this guy for some reason but the desperate for depth bottom feeder Riders did...things you have to do I guess when you suck

Next Up ... Edmonton here
pretty sure they are synced just fine...regardless his presence on the field is going to open up space for someone else..and he's certainly going to factor into at least 5 or 6 catches for a whack of yards, and you can't over look his red zone presence and attention he is gonna garner..

Esks vs Bombers Depth Charts
and probably a major factor in why we didn't invest money in him..as we would have been well aware of his injury/rehab/issues Wilson I think will be the better all around player anyway Also if this line plays well again tonight...then it's obvious they are going to be okay, so leave Neuf on the 6 game for the whole duration and save some cash and see what's up with Ackie..offer him some solid coin and that depth for us would do wonders

Esks vs Bombers Depth Charts
I wouldn't put too much emphasis on what they are classified as on the depth chart..Lapo moves guys all over, and part of the key to our schemes is all the guys are to know, and have plays made from multiple positions...

Esks vs Bombers Depth Charts
Lawler though skill set and body type wise would be redundant as well with Adams..Woli and Matthews..so I guess it's a pick your poison type of situation...I wouldn't want to have Demski relied on for returns if our dedicated returner went down...risk of injury and ball security if you ask me Whitehead also offers that super unknown right now and a huge threat to defenses...so we need to try and groom that.

Esks vs Bombers Depth Charts
Good looking depth chart..Whitehead is the obvious choice right now over Lawler with Matthews back..but we need to involve him and utilze what he can do, or else whats the point of him being in the lineup. I like the addition of Rios...he looked good and has size and also has been worked at Sam and all the backfield spots, so with him, Fenner, Gaitor and Alexander we have a lot of back field flexibility

CFL Week 2 Takeaways
who cares...they both can discuss whats going on with their personal anecdotes and goofy things they say...almost unfiltered..I could watch that for days
-
CFL Week 2 Takeaways
they need to put Dunnigan and Walby together as a play by play tandem..that would be just golden and the things that they would say would be priceless....for sure would boost TV ratings

nope..we were always told/taught to lead with our forehead straight through a guys chin/facemask

Regular Season Bomber News
yeah...was a lot of sneaky stuff back in day..was a tougher game then with lots of stuff happening that bordered on criminal...my one defensive coordinator told us that if we had to hurdle over a guy on the ground to get to a ball carrier we were to either kick him in the ribs or step on a hand..let em know your there he would say hahahaha..

Regular Season Bomber News
It was more an issue that he was cut/bleeding and needed that to be taken care of..most likely from a helmet buckle.. Interesting story.....I know of players when I played who would shave/file the edges of the metal strap buckles on helmets to a knife like edge...to cause cuts on opposing players..

Next Up ... Edmonton here
Been reported before that someone else has said if you wanted anyone as backup in a dark alley it would be him as well.. or something along those lines

Next Up ... Edmonton here
they look at it as he does short yardage and goaline packages...so potential to score several TD's a game

what Harris has done against Montreal...and BC (WHO GUTTED THEIR DEFENSE) means not too much in my opinion...lets see what he can do against what should be a top 2 defense in the league, with some game film to be studied..

Riders @ RedBlacks
I'd say 3 now...with a crap QB and offence you can expect a game..maybe two like that where the offense clicks and you pound out a win...but since that supposed "vaunted" defense played as to what they are...they didn't get the win...we'll see if the T.O game on the weekend was an abberation due to rust and no real game action to date...if they come out with a chip on their shoulder and beat the Rider's...man things gonna get ugly out there....
- Lock of the Week 3

Riders @ RedBlacks
he seems overwhelmed and almost stunned...to be honest
-
Riders @ RedBlacks
so does that make the Riders the worst of the bad teams..seeing as you lost to both...all excuses aside, good teams don't lose due to excuses Shivers wasn't on the field though making plays...your DB's were being beat repeatedly, and the d-line didn't get any sustained pressure or push so maybe it's overated expectations of personnel, or just not that good of personnel

Riders @ RedBlacks
he's fine tuning his "stats" agenda...and how we should not be happy with 185 yards passing , 3Td's and power running game allowing us to win at a .700 clip over the past 3 years, as opposed to 300+ yards and fancy numbers...but still a loss Trying to figure out how to say that now we should not be so content to have that..and a stout defense so that when we put up 30+ points and win that it is only because our defense got lucky or something..and that if we are happy about being solid but not spectacular in all facets that it doesn't mean diddly...or something along those lines...forgetting that winning football games takes 3 facets of the game...2 of which right sucked for them last night on probably the only night this year they ring up numbers like that on offence
