  1. outstanding! http://www.youtube.com/user/TheJessicaRidley Very fine stuff there, thanks a lot.
  2. just left spokane ten days ago. too bad. looks like a good concert.
  3. ottawa has a good defence, same for Montreal. once they get their Offence organized, both will be good teams
  4. interesting. lots of great live music going on there, I guess. who have you seen live in the last while, If you've had the chance?
  5. he's no idiot. The NFL makes more money than ever under him. That's what matters more than anything else to the owners, and probably 9 of ten people if you ask them. I'll be surprised if he gets turfed. The second Ray Rice video thing is silly. He knocked her cold in the elevator, and I saw the first video where he dragged her out. What more do you need to know? He punched his girl friend and knocked her cold. Why the second video is so shocking is beyond me.
  6. exciting game, second in a row. looks like a nice stadium.
  7. Enjoyable game to watch, although B.C. took some obvious stupid penalties.
  8. That was the worst game I've seen out of the NFL. One team just quit. Receivers wide open all game, bad tackling, etc. I actually watched the whole game, for some reason. Tampa defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier, was Vikings head coach for a few years. While he was there the Vikings defence was pretty bad. NFL players don't often quit like that, that I've seen.
  9. interesting, how do you know him? anyway, yeah, he's very down on current radio pop country. But it's pretty funny, and he's very positive about a lot of other country, that doesn't get heard much.
  10. Here are some numbers to pounder (CFLapedia is my source) This would be the 3 best consecutive years numbers of each qb. Jones 2000-2002 54 games, 14021 yards passing, 107 tds, 75 ints, PA 1676, PC 954, 999 yards rushing. Brock 80-82 48 games, 13342 yards passing, 88 tds, 42 ints, PA 1623, PC 972, 326 yards rushing. who was Dieter throwing to? I don't remember. Kenny Ploen, is easily the best QB in Bomber history. Bradshaw was absolutely amazing. QB's were more fun then, as was football in general.
  11. Noeller, you might like this site, http://www.savingcountrymusic.com lot of articles about the state of country music, and he introduces a lot of new musicians, singers, songwriters. often very funny in his takedowns of the brocountry guys. FloridaGeorgialine etc. That's where I heard of Sturgill Simpson.
  12. thanks dod, great read. The offence seems to be more of a problem than the defence. I listened on the radio, thought I heard Bob say Willy missed open Grigsby early in the game, near the B.C. goal. settled for three. Our offence has been unable to score and move the ball consistently, for a number of games, after starting off very strong this year.
  13. of course alberta has a much bigger economy than manitoba, I just mean that it depends mainly on one industry.
  14. during a golf game years ago in wpg, I played in a small snowstorm, in June. it was actually funny. didn't last a day.
  15. yikes that is expensive. Drive around Winnipeg, there are thousands of small businesses that employ ten to a hundred or more people. there is an amazing entrepreneurial spirit in this City. Drive through Calgary, there's nothing like that at all. just a bunch of brand new, gigantic houses. and roads and freeways to them. Alberta, outside of the cities, is physically a very beautiful place, I'll give it that.
  16. Canadian Country Music Awards on CBC last night. 1. Rick Mercer the host? what ? and Jan Arden? She's from Alberta. that's it. that's her connection to country music. There's all kinds of people who would have made more sense. 2. Awful music. Pop chart Country music these days is drivel. no steel guitar, no fiddles to speak of, no twang, no feeling in the tunes or the performers. too bad. There were performers on that show, who could not sing in tune. not even close. The only good performance I saw was Terry Clark. Otherwise….. pretty bad. There's a ton of good country being written and played, but it never makes it to award shows. my favourite Canadian country music singer is Lindy Ortega. American… Sturgill Simpson. Anyone waste any time on that thing?
  17. didn't they have to cut prices, or give tickets away to the games that the bills played in toronto? Americans are pretty oblivious to anything going on beyond their border, that includes sports.
  18. Durant does seem like a good guy. and he's an outstanding CFL quarterback. Too bad he's out. Hard to tell about their backup, but he looked lost to me. You can now put me into the group of bomber fans that are tired of saskatchewan fans posting here. The arrogance of some of the people on that team, including it's fans, it's pretty high these days. Here's hoping the team loses all its remaining games this year. Totally sick of them. And I didn't use to feel that way about that team.
  19. I also think that refs have coaches players and teams that they dislike personally, and that it comes out in the way they run a game. If a coach/team sends in videos of a ref screwing up, that ref is going to be in a good position to cause that team some grief next game he works on with that team isn't he? Don't tell me referees are superhuman and wouldn't do that.
  20. That highway you speak of near the Crow in SW AB is always busy like you say. The TC in BC between the AB border & Kamloops is insanely nuts. On the TC, it's a single lane hwy with thousands of cars on the road both ways & a 90 kph speed limit that most drivers don't observe. Truckers doing 130 in their rigs tailgating downhill & going 80 kph uphill, RVs doing 30 kph under the speed limit both creating huge lineups behind them & 500 metre passing lanes. People get frustrated & impatient as some cars just refuse to pass & take chances passing other vehicles. I saw one guy 2 weeks ago coming back from Vancouver pass a dozen cars on the TC by Rogers Pass. He must've passed me at 150 kph. Probably the most unsafe stretch of hwy in Canada. It's a Canadian disgrace as it is our national highway system stuck in the 1960's. I hate driving it. yikes.
  21. drive into bc through crows nest pass, the driving I saw going both ways, was insane. people pulling huge boats, going 90 100 k, deer on the road ducking between cars and trucks, bumper to bumper, passing , absolutely nuts.
  22. lol. decision has been made. poor drew, Guy sounds down post game interview.
