If we went Wallace/Clercius/MCI/Jake Jr in that order, I’d be happy so I’m happy

Personally, I’m stoked they picked Manu. You never know.

Bombers take a swing, grabbing Giovanni Manu at 46.

Really surprised we haven't gone for an edge rusher.  I hope they don't think Bennett is good.

    To be fair:
    2019 - Rookie Season
    2020 - Season Cancelled
2021 - Played shortened season, Suspended
    2022 - Sat out season
    2023 - First year back
So he's essentially played  less than 3 seasons, each of which he had come back from a break. Should be interesting to see if he can finally get his footing.

Wasn't Osh who made any comment about how we will draft. It was Walters. He stated that "our kind of guy" is one that is physical, tough, and loves to play the game. I see nothing wrong with any of that being a prerequisite for any of our draft picks. If you want to attribute it to Osh, and move the goal posts on what was said have at it though, I don't see Walters as a guy who is leaving talent on the board at the draft. Yea, he had a rough draft last year but so did every other GM. It was an awful draft year.
Winnipeg is also happy that BC lost out on the bidding for BO's services. I guess this is a win win....actually nope...the Lions lost and are apparently giddy about it.

For a Mike Oshea coached team it was embarrassing. And when Grant was out we had  of hope of even keeping the field position game close via specials.

I'm not sure MOS has any real interest in going south (tho millions of dollars could change that ) but I thought it was neat to hear an NFL GM talk about how his name is mentioned down there...

Defensively, Ribbins was a ball hawk & similar in stature to that Ducoix kid in Montreal. He's the closest to Ribbins as a DB I've seen. They're very similar. But Ducoix can't play the other positions like Ribbins could.

IIRC, your father was picked by the Bombers in the first round of the Canadian Football Draft. The Bombers had two first round picks in that 1971 Draft. They took Bobby Kraemer from the University of MB with their first pick & your Dad with their second pick. Kraemer was a great selection & a very good athlete but he couldn't hold a candle to your father. I also remember reading that your Dad was considered the most athletic player the Bombers had.  Both you & Kraemer had a great deal to do with the Bombers going from a CFL last place finish at 2-14 in 1970 to a 7-8-1 third place finish in the Western Conference in 1971 his rookie year.
I also remember your father catching a TD pass from Don Jonas in the 1971 Western Semi Final against the Saskatachewan Roughriders.

    Thank you!

I've reached out to Scott. I would love to watch that game (any of them really) It means a lot to see dad being remembered. I miss him everyday.

Scott Grant Photography has a great action photo of your father I'm sure your family would appreciate. You should contact him. His photos are online & you can order it. I remember your father very well. He was just a natural as a player. Peter excelled whatever position he played. He was a safety, a corner, a receiver (wingback) & he could run with the ball as well. He also was the Blue Bomber long snapper. At 185 lbs & he did that very well, too.
I remember the game in 1972 when he picked off 4 passes against the BC Lions.
Your Dad was one of my favourite player's back when he played.

No one is saying turn into Chris Streveler out there... just that when there's a wide open area use his legs and run. Make the defense account for that possibility.  He got hurt screwing around behind the line of scrimmage this season. Guy like that can get hurt anywhere.

I believe I have seen more happy feet, critical INTs  and indecision this past season than in previous ones, and that concerns me.

Collaros would help himself so much if he ran with the ball more.

Collaros has had a lot less consistency as well as bursts this season.  A few giant games and a lot of games with very mediocre production.  And that's with an all-time season out of the tailback plus a guy like Schoen.
I guess what they really have to drill down onto is what is him and what is the offense.

Said it all year and it happened in the biggest game of the year. We sat a guy out in Rose to play a cripple who could barely move when we had an adequate replacement. The loyalty in our roster management was disgusting this year and it didn’t show any truer than in our final game of the year.

Was excited that Bighill could go but let’s call it what it is - there was absolutely no reason he should’ve been out there tonight. Rose to back up Parker sounds pretty good right about now.
