  1. I got into AWA in the rick Martel era.
  2. I said it was simplistic. Not entirely wrong. Not entirely right either.
  3. Good thing you have a very limited understanding of wrestling and live performance.Feel free to detail some things you've done so I can insult it. I've watched wrestling for decades.I'm not the 'insider" like you but I know what I like & don't. Wanna talk AWA from the 60's? You're perfectly entitled to like what you like. I wasnt alive in the 60's. We're you involved in wrestling back then? But for sure you can discuss it. I have some knowledge but not a lot. I wasn't into it til the 80's Speaking of Bob Sapp. He's doing a "shoot" fight with Akebono in Japan.
  4. She was 9 I believe. But they're small. Lol I'm not sure he did he worked invisible man. But he used to do a bunch of invisible antics. Haven't seen him break it out for awhile.
  5. Check the locked thread. It's in there. I'm going to guess he's got a better resume than you and me.
  6. By the way it's too simplistic to say fans flock to UFC from wrestling. Ufc does better on PPV. WWE does better on TV even at their historic lows currently. I believe www does better in licensing and merchandise. Licensing is actually down for wwe. Online sales are way up. UFC does a better job at marketing their big fight. wWE does a better job at marketing their small fights. WWE does a way better job at marketing their talent though UFC has been reluctant to do certain things in that regard.

  8. Oscar-nominated actor Robert Loggia dies at 85, family confirms - @Variety RIP Feetch!
  9. Sorry if my post caused you discomfort. Ill try to label sarcasm and facetiousness moving forward to make things easier for you. Did you need that list of Harper's resume? Or can we just stipulate that Trudeau lacks experience and save us both the trouble?
  10. Not really. I didn't follow him around for the entire year 2007. I suppose he could have done a lot between his movie and running for the 08 election. Either way he doesn't have the resume of Harper which was seemingly a point you were trying to make and failed to do so. I was making a point about his lack of experience. Which is a fair point. Don't get so defensive when your boy gets criticised. . Save for the angry responses for when someone is unfair to him.
  11. I know that Trudeau went from acting in a film in 2007 to leader of the Liberals. So excuse me. Bit actor to leader of the opposition. Do you need me to list all the things Harper did between University and PM? There will be a few more than Trudeau.
  12. To be fair, the last guy went from university drop-out to PM so there's no set path to becoming head of state in Canada. I dont recall a PM that made that direct leap. Do we need to rehash the Harper vs Trudeau resume discussion?
  13. (CNN)Investigators think that as the San Bernardino, California, massacre was happening, female shooter Tashfeen Malik posted a pledge of allegiance to ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi on Facebook, three U.S. officials familiar with the investigation told CNN. But none of the officials said that ISIS directed or ordered the attack. ISIS has called for people worldwide to launch attacks in its name, but isn't known to have claimed credit for what happened in San Bernardino. Bowdich said a number of pieces of evidence pushed authorities to launch a terrorism investigation. He noted some phone conversations between at least one of the San Bernardino shooters and other people are being investigated by federal officials. "This is looking more and more like self-radicalization," a law enforcement official said. law enforcement source said investigators have a greater focus on whether the shooting occurred after a workplace issue with religion. it's not known what connections Malik, who was born and raised in Pakistan and moved to Saudi Arabia around the age of 19, had with any terrorists or groups before the San Bernardino massacre. "There was nothing to show that (Malik) was extreme at all," Abuershaid said. "(And Farook) was a normal guy, in every sense of the word." San Bernardino Police Chief Jarrod Burguan has said there were indications Farook appeared angry when he suddenly left Wednesday's holiday luncheon at Inland Regional Center, only to return heavily armed. The Farook family lawyers didn't speculate on his reasoning, though Chesley did say that "at some times co-workers have done silly things, like made fun of Syed's beard." One of Farook's colleagues, Nicholas Thalasinos , liked to discuss religion and politics. He was one of the people killed in the Wednesday attack. Farook and Thalasinos, reportedly a devout Messianic Jew, once had a "heated, passionate" discussion, said Kuuleme Stephens, a friend of Thalasinos, who had called him at work.
  14. That seems odd given Hutch's past play against Chicago. Unless they deem Chicago the more important game and Helle the better option.
  15. Well, most people dont go from drama teacher to PM. So they are well aware of the stresses of public life and serving the nation. if Trudeau isnt aware of this, he shouldnt even have run. I dont believe the PM has a contract which spells out that he gets a groundskeeper, chef and maid. Those employees are provided to the asset (the property). He has a budget to hire other employees. Someone else correct me if Im wrong. The issue is how he chooses to use that money. Its fair game to be critical of him when there is something we dont like about the budget so why cant we be critical about how he uses his taxpayer funded household budget? Im more annoyed at what a flaming hypocrite this makes him. "We dont need or want $3000 a year for child care. But we'll take $30,000 a year for child care." Ridiculous.
  16. FBI: Investigating California massacre as an "act of terrorism." Watch CNNgo.
  17. Pretty disappointed in this. Not a lot to like on the Republican side. I liked Jeb. Washington (CNN)Jeb Bush has tried everything. His campaign allies have blanketed the airwaves with almost $30 million in ads. Aiming to shake the "low-energy" tag and prove his toughness, Bush hit Donald Trump as a carnival barker unfit for the serious job of being President. He attacked Sen. Marco Rubio, suggesting his former protégé was a dilettante in a hurry. He cut staff, hired a debate coach, and pledged that "Jeb Can Fix It." Bush is now polling at 3% -- and dropping. The 3% figure puts Bush in sixth place in the national GOP race, according to the CNN/ORC poll released Friday morning. It's the latest insult and disappointment for Bush, a son and brother of presidents, the conservative former two-term governor of Florida and the man who started the race as the unquestioned establishment favorite.
  18. I appreciate the films for their artistic merit. They look beautiful. I just find them incredibly boring. I actually fell asleep during all three LOTR films in the theater.
  19. Agreed that no civilian should have access to a ******* assault rifle. Until the NRA and the American leadership grow some balls and tell the ignorant gun nuts who whine about their so0called constitutional rights that should actually be irrelevant, nothing will change. Obama is leaving office. The second term where they have no concern about re-election should be for doing their best to pass unpopular but right-minded legislation. If Obama had balls, he'd make it his pledge to stop sales of these weapons. Even if it goes down in flames, so be it. At least stand for something.
  20. Maybe its a language barrier. People I've interacted with that are presumably immigrants in jobs like those, I have found it to be that many dont speak English very well or are uncomfortable. My corner Mac's, the staff are all super friendly and I believe to be Immigrants as they do have pretty thick accents. I dont know if they are Muslim. I could make that assumption. But they are very friendly. Also, I've seen many people treat them rudely, sometimes subtly, sometimes not so much. I wouldnt be surprised if some Immigrants choose to "lay low" for fear of getting verbally abused. I've also had the experience where a Mac's worker will be fairly friendly in a general, professional manner (ie. hello, thanks for coming, how are you) and if you give them more than a cursory response (or at least better than no response), they can really open up. And I suspect its because they have been verbally abused or ignored or victims of subtle racism. One guy who worked there a long time had a nickname for me, but I cant remember what it was.... Chief? ****...I cant remember, but he'd always address me as such when I'd walk in and have a big smile. Because I generally interact in a friendly way with everyone.
  21. Oh okay, I thought you meant they planned to survive and get away with it. Maybe they did. I agree they planned to escape and get back home. If I recall, werent the cops at their place and they drove by in the SUV? I think they planned to get home and perhaps re-load. But once they were being chased, I dont think they figured they could win the fight with the cops. If they did, they were nuts. Which I guess they were anyway.
  22. I dont live in fear at all. But it doesnt change the fact that those people in Paris, those people in California, when the attacks started and they were in fear, I doubt they were thinking it was one of their nutty neighbors who finally snapped.
  23. Im trying to remember some of the goofy or crazy **** we've done because its a live crowd and you have to jack it up a bit. We've done angles about homophobia, racism, unplanned pregnancy etc. Omega once wrestled in his tighty whiteys claiming he forgot his gear. Omega also used to do "the invisible" box routine. We had a guy carrying a sign that said he would wrestle for food and had a collection box and fans would give him their change. Im proud to admit we invented the Sex Toy on a Pole match. We even had a couple who's live in girlfriend legitimately left him in the middle of the night and they both agreed to work together and tell the story on the show where she left him for another guy because the ex bf wasnt satisfying her in bed. I just looked back at our Year End Awards to see what were some of the sillier things we did. One guy made a music video of himself rapping which was hilarious (and pretty good too). We riffed on the UFC chick stripping to make weight by having an overweight wrestler strip to his underwear but still couldnt make weight so they put up the towels and he stripped nude. We had a guy who wore a strap-on under his gear and would open his fly, pull it erect and ram it into his opponent. He later autographed the dildo for some hot American girls that happened to be staying in the hotel where the show was and thought it was the greatest thing they'd ever seen. We had a guy who wanted to be an actor make a short film as a trailer for a movie called Babykiller where the plot was he would go back in time and kill murderers when they were babies. It was pretty funny. Really, a lot of stuff that sounds awful on paper but is funny in person.
  24. Did they actually plan to survive? I would think engaging the police in a shoot out and throwing bombs at them would be the acts of people pretty much expecting to be killed.
