I think he improves an issue the jets have. You can argue he doesn't make a drastic improvement but I'd say a Noticeable improvement. And for the foreseeable future.

Maybe but he strikes me as someone willing to sign wherever. So if he is traded this season I think that team would have a fair shot at him. Is his wife local? Remember he signed a long term deal in Atlanta when there was no guarantee of how that situation would be resolved. And if he wants big dollars, Wild would need To fit that under their cap and I don't see buff as filling a need for them.

Well Hamonic is a no brainer. It's a once in a lifetime situation that a top player at that age with a good ckntract who wants to be nere, probably for his entire career, is a great character guy and a local kid? You can't over pay but since both sides want to get it done Id consider it s fail on Chevys part of he doesn't. Chevy has two issues this year that could drastically impact his future. 1) UFA's. 2) Hamonic.

Arctic guys Further to what Goalie was saying in the game day thread The Winnipeg Jets reported interest in New York Islanders defenseman, Travis Hamonic continues to be top quality fodder for media types. The rumor mill took another twirl today when hockey nice guy Elliotte Friedman shared the following thoughts on the radio (NBC Sports). "I think the Islanders were offered Byfuglien and they said no," Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman said this morning on Sportsnet 960 (audio), per Today’s Slapshot. "And I understand why, because Byfuglien’s got no term left." It shouldn't surprise many that the Islanders would turn down this deal. Hamonic is a long term asset, Byfuglien is not. What does surprise some is that Dustin Byfuglien's name was mentioned in the trade. Should this really be a surprise though? Kevin Chelveldayoff went on record prior to the season saying that he hadn't talked to Byfuglien's camp since the draft. More recently, Byfuglien's camp suggested that the two groups had yet to start negotiations. It sure seems like Dustin Byfuglien is on this last leg as a member of the Winnipeg Jets.

If they are equal take the need. If one is much better take the better player and fill holes with other pieces. If morrissey ends up a top four LHD we're in better shape than we are now.

I do agree if the jets are out of it, Chevy should be persuing as many early round picks as possible. Imagine us winning the lottery this year?

Okposo is a RW. But I think Petan, Ehlers, Stafford and Burmi can all play both sides. Goalie, good thought on Theodore. But you think they'd also toss in a 1st rounder ?

Really? A logging team cant do what they do on TV for fear some moron will emulate them? They shouldnt show football then in case some kids try to mimic professionals and break their necks. This story made me cheer for Ottawa. CFL was nutless on this one. The Grey Cup game should have the two teams' respective "stuff" - TD celebrations, cheer teams, whatever. Its a neutral site but fans going should get the flavor of both. Dont want to see the logging team saw a piece of wood? Dont let them score.

Heard nothing but positivity from people attending festivals and galas and whatnot. IGF looked great on TV and heard great things from people who attended. We might look at it as a disappointment but I think visitors will leave with a good impression.

I always get excited once the season is over. And the closer we get to the next season, the hope and optimism fills me. Could be delusion. But I like to think we're a couple of good players, a little better D, a little better O and we're there.

Those three straight shut outs to end the season really impacted his numbers. The shame is, he shows he's capable of above average play. Just inconsistent. The word was he had been working on his positioning or something and trying to getr better. I thought he had been "ok" this season although his stats dont bear that out. It will be interesting to see what the Jets do this year. Do they cut Hutch and go with Pavs/Helle in what would seemingly be a transition season next year (transition from Pavs to Helle as starter), presuming Helle is the real deal? Do they try and trade Pavs to someone wanting a veteran back up and go Helle/Hutch?

Even more than 40 years. Some people just like to work. MTS has a lot of very long term staff that are in their 60's. Plus a lot that started when they were 18-20 years old.
