  1. As a forward? I believe Pardy has played forward as an emergency back up.
  2. If Lowry isnt playing Friday, they need to call someone up.
  3. Raffl is a terrible story. Injured in his first game. Comes back, scores, fights and then suffers a broken jaw. Hopefully he keeps getting his chance. Really intrigued by him.
  4. I have no issue with Copp. The only issue I have with that 4th line is they could use someone with more offensive upside than Peluso. Though Peluso works hard.
  5. If thats the only reason so be it but if that was the case I'd expect this type of thing to happen more often. lol It's rare that the Jets and Moose are both at home at the same time (Usually the other is on the road when one has home games). Its exactly this. If he's not back up for Friday vs NYR, then we can start busting out the pitchforks. You think he will play four games in a row? I guess it's possible but thats asking a lot.
  6. He looks pretty awesome from the pics I've seen, a bit darker than you might expect if you like the comic version. The actor is Hawaiian. Jason Momoa

  8. I agree. Its one thing to invest to a degree, I guess. But if they all this money to invest in real estate, they should be lowering rates. Isnt that their only mandate?
  9. http://www.latino-review.com/news/new-character-banners-for-batman-v-superman-dawn-of-justice-are-here Character posters at the link. I dont dislike how Wonder Woman looks but I wish they had made the actress bulk up a bit. She looks like a thin model type, not a strong, fit warrior type.
  10. Sara Orlesky ✔ @saraorlesky No Scheifele, Wheeler or Enstrom at #NHLJets practice Lowry sent to Moose.
  11. I thought he was playing better and maurice just talked about him getting back to 3C. Baffling. Who on the Moose is a better fit right now? Bring Petan back? I dont see it...
  12. While remaining mum on key details -- such as the tenants -- the parties involved in the development of True North Square insisted Monday it would go ahead. The latest news is that Manitoba Public Insurance has become a limited partner in the project. MPI owned the parking lot at 225 Carlton St. -- the current Cityplace parking lot -- and granted a development option on the site three years ago to True North Development. MPI has now formalized a deal with True North to transfer ownership of the property to the development company in exchange for limited partnership in the project. Scott Brown, a spokesman for True North, was bullish on the project's prospects of becoming a reality despite its lengthy gestation. "This is another step in the process toward bringing this project to fruition," he said. "We definitely assume this project is going to get done." As it stands now, the $400-million project will have three towers, including about 600,000 square feet of office and commercial in two buildings as well as a hotel/condo tower situated on the Cityplace parking lot and across Carlton Street at the former site of the Carlton Inn. Geophysical drilling is currently taking place on the parking lot as part of the due diligence before construction begins. Brown would not say when construction would begin. The suggestion the project has moved one step closer to reality inspired Premier Greg Selinger to weigh in on the project declaring, "It's a go." "It shows the value of these kinds of partnerships," Selinger said. "With MPI entering into this relationship with True North... it will leverage the transformation of the downtown for well over $400 million in investment and create good jobs along the way." There was media speculation the project was counting on Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries as an anchor tenant, but when the Crown corporation chose a location on Kennedy Street, True North Square proponents were unperturbed. "With the land issue now taken care of, we see nothing to discourage us from moving forward," Brown said. Brian Smiley, a spokesman for MPI, said the public insurer will include True North Square in its portfolio of real estate holdings. "MPI will have no direct involvement in the operation of True North Square, but will hold a secured, ongoing interest in the development as part of its overall investment portfolio, at equal or better return than currently experienced," he said. "The income from this investment -- which is a small portion of the entire MPI investment portfolio -- will be used to benefit all ratepayers in the form of lower insurance premiums." martin.cash@freepress.mb.ca
  13. Is it on Netflix? I never did watch it.... Anyone looking for an old series to watch, I suggest X-Files, to prepare for the relaunch. Its a tough commitment. A few years ago, when Californication debuted my gf fell for David Duchovney and admitted she had never watched X Files. So I bought the series (and films) and we watched the whole thing. Great series.
  14. The fourth season of House of Cards premieres Friday, March 4, 2016 on Netflix. Read more at: https://tr.im/mz0pb Really good show.
  15. According to THR, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" has now crossed the $100 million mark for North America in pre-sales tickets. That's $100 million before a frame of the finished film has been shown to the general public. Some are even speculating that it may hit $120 million before its release. For reference, the previous record for the pre-sales was set by 2012's "The Dark Knight" with $25 million. "The Dark Knight" went on to make $158 million on its opening weekend in North America. While I'm not foolish enough to think that "The Force Awakens" is set to make $632 million in North America on its opening weekend (which is four times the amount of "The Dark Knight"), I'm quite optimistic that it'll break the opening weekend record of $208.8 million, which was set earlier this year by "Jurassic World." When all said and done, I'm expecting a weekend box office haul of $250 million -- ambitious, to be sure, but given that the name is "Star Wars," I think it's an attainable goal. 16. I am fortunate and live on a school bus route so the roads are nice and clean for me. If anything service is better for myself... Now garbage pickup on the other hand..much worse. It was especially bad, was it two years ago, when they let the snow freeze creating the deadly ruts. Seems like we go through this every year though where in Jan/Feb/March they have all the money in the world so they will do a full scraping for 2cm's but in Nov/Dec when the budget is low they try not to. That winter, they waited and waited and I remember them finallty doing my area about a week after it snowed but they were doing it while it was snowing (forecasted to be another 10cm or so) so really, at that point, wait a few hours. They were back the next day to do it all over again. Also more sloppy. Now, Im not a complainer. I have a Jeep so I dont really care. Best thing I ever bought was a tow rope. Managed to get myself stuck a few times and pulled others out a few times. Garbage, I agree. It hasnt been too bad this year but they missed it a lot last year. Last winter my biggest issue was garbage collection would be wait, they'd tell you to leave your bins out, then the snow clearing would come along and knock over our bins, spilling garbage everywhere. Oh and they also dumped snow, not to the side of my drive way, but ON my driveway. Took a lot of effort to get them to rectify that.
  17. I'm sure lots but if i'm at the stadium and I won $150k at the 50/50 , i'm heading to the office to get my cheque right then and there. F the game. But what you would do and what many others would do is the same. And realistically, he's not obligated to do so. Sure, I guess its his fault he didnt assume the Bombers would somehow **** this whole thing up. But perhaps he was inebriated and thought the Bombers would be able to handle a 50-50 draw.
  18. Farhan Lalji – Verified account ‏@FarhanLaljiTSNA source tells me Thorpe had 2 years left on his contract with no out clause & no teams have asked #Alouettes for permission to speak to him 10:17 PM - 15 Dec 2015 Maybe the answer for this lies somewhere in the word mEDdling? The CFL is now investigating Thorpe's resignation. It'll be interesting to see where this goes. I think it's going to be a whole lot harder to grab coaches from other teams soon. If he has no out clause and a contract, seems pretty open and shut to me. And honestly, the Als *should* block him under those circumstances. The problem is, even if a court sides with the Al's, its not like they are going to want him back after this. So do they pay him for two years to sit at home to spite him? Maybe. Ultimately, Edmonton would probably be coerced into paying some sort of compensation to free him up. So why not just do that already? Someone in the CFL is an NHL fan and was seeing the stupid compensation for coaches thing and thought 'why not'. League needs to make a ruling. Contracts have to be respected. Its one thing to have a gentleman's arrangement but when teams stop acting like gentleman, it ruins it for everyone.
  19. Not making the playoffs. People look at the standings and see six points out of a playoff spot and think its only three games but it means the Jets have to play better than they have been and those teams have to play worse than they have been. Its unlikely to happen. My worst fear is they are battling for a spot at the deadline and the team decides to keep Ladd and/or Buff as UFA's.... I'd rather be well out of it and trade whomever we can for picks and prospects. Realistically, we know the Scheif/Trouba/Lowry/Wheeler/Little are untouchables. Who else is? Helle probably. I'd argue Perrerault. And our rookies. Trade everyone else.
  20. Wonderful.
  21. Are you sure its Hutch? You're bound to be right one of these games.
  22. How many more seasons will we have subpar or inconsistent special teams? Time to get some new assistants.
  23. We saw what happened when you publicly rip the refs. Team can be world beaters. Just not for 60 minutes. No playoffs. Tough pill to spend the money required on Ladd and Buff when this team right now isn't good enough. Perreault is the straw that stirs the drink much of the time Scheif is rapidly becoming our best player.
  24. Many many people do not immediately cash in their winning ticket. If a a bombers employee screwed up the responsibility still lays with the organization. What would the Bombers have done if the winner had discarded his ticket?
  25. It's been poor since they sub contracted. No one who lives here can pretend there Havent been many issues the past couple of years.
