In fairness to Joe Mack, he did trade a broken Steven Jyles for a draft pick that turned into Jade Etienne... a young Canadian receiver Jyles was coming off a career season and actually had value at the time. I remember quite a few people being upset we traded him, and then the Argos managed to parlay Jyles into Ray.

I thought Glenn was a Free Agent, but Tate and BLM are both under contract. Of course I wouldn't be surprised if they unload Tate on whoever is willing to take him.

Sounds like he's channelling the spirit of Joe Mack...the spirit, or the ineptitude...one of the two. Seriously, that comment sounds like he's trying to sidetrack the fact that he lost a 2nd round pick. It's like "aw, the second round picks were **** anyway, so I thought I'd just throw this in for good measure". I'm losing faith in this guy quick. He's trying to make trades just to appease the fans. "Oh look everyone...he's doing something...he got rid of Buck (for a shitty receiver) and now he got us a second rate Olineman...WOOHOO...he's teh Aw3s0mE!!!ONE1111". So far, the only person he's brought in that seems to be worth ANYTHING is Kelly. Foster, Boltus, Sims-Walker, DeAngelis...all crap. And how many NFL cuts stuck around, other then Sims-Walker? To be fair, I think your expectations of what he should be doing mid-season are a little high. I would say the best thing Walters has done is purge some of the useless assets our team has to set us up in a better position to compete next year. His goal was never to compete seriously this year. Even though Foster hasn't done much, its stuff like getting a young Canadian receiver for an old broken QB that Joe Mack would've never done.

I hope that isn't Burke implying he expects to come back next season. I would seriously consider canceling my season tickets.

Hall had very little to no value to us at this point in time. Really, would you rather have a 2nd round pick or Neufeld is the question and probably decides which side of the fence your on for this trade. I don't mind getting the proven Canadian commodity, seeing as our first round pick last year may never come here and our 2nd round pick looks like a career special teamer if he even recovers from his injury. The draft is a crap shoot, we just took out the guess work and got a Canadian O-linemen which we desperately need.

I wonder who gets named our most ''outstanding'' player now that Hall gets traded? I can't even think of a worthy option.

Hes under contract next season, so they would've possibly lost him to Ottawa. But, as others have mentioned not to us. And that logic sucks anyways, now that Neufeld is gone, the Riders are going to lose ANOTHER Canadian to Ottawa(assuming Neufeld was going to be picked).

Hall was leaving at the end of this season anyways, I don't see why getting a Canadian for him can be seen as a bad thing.

Hall wasn't coming back here, but I don't like giving up a 2nd rounder. Would've been a much better trade if we gave up our third rounder instead IMO.

John Murphy has never been a GM, I'm not sure that qualifies as ''experienced''. The question is, would he be a better fit as GM than Walters? And would they be able to co-exist? I'm not so sure about that.

Hard to see stats as a measuring stick considering the situation were in. I would much take Etienne over Rob Bagg or any other Rider NI receiver not named Getzlaf.

Yeah, he even gives Cauchy Muamba a run for his money an as incompetent Canadian safety. It would be nice to have Mike Edem.

Players and coaches without a doubt. I cut Bellfool some slack only because he doesn't have the horses but Creehan is hands down the worst defensive co I have ever seen. The players he has are nowhere near as bad as he makes them seem. Our defense is ever so slightly better than in 2005 I think. But on the whole, this team is god awful. Probably even worse than 1996 or 1997 with Reinbold. The 2009 team with Bishop would destroy these guys, probably even the 2005 team Daley led team as well.

Well we only have to sit through them for another month before their fired after a horrid 3-15 season.

He better be careful, there isn't a huge market for import running backs approaching 30 with injury issues.

I'm surprised the fact that Kent Austin is a notorious flake himself, yet refusing to let a player go to the NFL which is in essence a gigantic promotion isn't more of a topic. These guys have short careers that can end in instant, I definitely don't agree with the way Williams went about his business but who can blame him? He could've played out his 50K contract, blew out his ACL and his career could be over. Would the Ticats support him? Not a chance in hell. I didn't particularly like when Taman held Kyries Hebert here instead of going to the Bengals, and I don't particularly like this. I'm definitely not wishing failure upon the guy like everyone here seems to be, its really petty IMO.

Because we need a QB that can start MOST of the games next season and not one who's going to break after one game. Then you're just going to be bitching again "WHY DON'T WE HAVE A PROPER QB TO BACKUP TATE WHEN HE GETS HURT". Tate is a bandaid....we do NOT need a bandaid at QB. Especially one that tears as easily as he does. Tate should NOT be an option. Totally disagree with this statement. Insert Boltus (or for that matter all our current qb's), inset all the new oline guys we've brought in, insert sandro, insert Bo Smith and you're on to something. But Tate? He's shown enough in this league to warrant more than the label band aid. Saviour no, risk yes, payoff potential, but filler c'mon now. Are you someone who believes Buck Pierce isn't injury prone and shouldn't of been traded?

The logic is that Ottawa needs players NOW and isn't going to take the chance of these guys returning to their city in Feb without playing a single game for them.

I love the idea of Dickenson as head coach and Collaros at QB, but I would prefer Khari as a QB coach.

If Collaros keeps winning I don't see how they let him go.
