  1. Brandon London had 0 receptions & 1 PI call for 16 yards that game... my understanding is that London is Jovon's responsibility most of the time - Sound like a pretty decent game to me (1 pass for 16 yards) 1 Tackle for 1 yard & an INT other than that - Perfect stats for a CB (if a Corner doesn't have a single tackle in a game he probably did his job unless they got beat deep or had to have the safety make a tackle for them - Cauchy had one tackle on D and it was on Whitaker) - Sounds like a near perfect game for a CB to me... His only tackle was coming up to make a play on an RB and his only pass allowed was for 16 yards (the Penalty)
  2. That was some sick awareness from Hall on that play - it could have gone for a lot of yards with the RB only needing to beat one guy except for Hall who peeled off his guard and hustled to reduce his angles... The RB never managed to really get his shoulders turned despite Calvillo throwing a really sharp pass hitting him on the run in the flats - Sick hustle from Hall
  3. Definitely an underthrown ball... that being said Kohlert really didn't need to do much for the catch so it wasn't a terrible ball either
  4. Someone mentioned Poblah and a 3rd round draft pick (+/- a round) I could see Calgary maybe biting on that (Poblah has shown a lot of promise but now that Etienne is performing it might not be so bad to use Poblah for trade)
  5. Like Stoddard except it seems like they have him playing slot more often than Stoddard ever saw that position (possibly because when Stoddard was here our import receivers were too good to ever put him in the slot) Kohlert has some sticky hands...always nice to have NI's who can actually catch the ball
  6. Bryant Turner Jr. ‏@Blitz_Turner 23m Heart is good! Thank God. - I guess that was why they kept him overnight... he must of been having chest pains & shortness of breath after he hit the turf - No kidding that would be real ******* scary
  7. My only concern with bringing Glenn in is that we would have to cut our playbook WAY DOWN for at least 4-5 games while Glenn learnt the system and plays.
  8. I'm just impressed with our Canadian Receivers... Kohlert is 7 yards from our top 3 receivers being NI's When was the last time our NI's were this impressive?
  9. Legit analysis - With the field position our offense gave Montreal that game it's difficult to expect much better
  10. I thought that Kohlert reception was a pretty damn good throw as well
  11. I think Burris makes his O-line look much stronger than it otherwise would look (Burris' playaction Option read is so good... ) I also think Cornish learnt a lot about how to run in the playaction from Burris (or Hufnagel) because even once Burris left their playaction has remained deadly - Really selling playaction and running it with an option for the QB to either take it or give it depending on how the defense bites makes Oline's look so much better
  12. Wouldn't matter if they could... they can't afford to hire any more reporters and can't get rid of the ones with seniority.
  13. Still betting against Edm being able to stop Hamilton from running all over them
  14. The starting running back playing against Edmonton...
  15. It seemed like as soon as Mtrl turned the heat up in the Third quarter Pierce couldn't make a pass - with a couple exceptions (the pass to Edwards in the middle of the field that Watson made a grab at and missed would have been a huge play and the pass to Edwards where he didn't get the PI call was a great pass... the only way the defender had a chance at stopping was by mugging Edwards before the ball arrived) Pierce threw the one ball that soared on him and afterwards it seemed like he was afraid to put much heat on it for the next bunch of throws... at least 3 good plays where he tossed the ball at a guys feet (The Pontbriand play specifically... it looked like Pontbriand would have had some space to get a head of steam if that had been on the money) --- Also I was impressed with our endzone offense... we didn't get many chances in the red zone but we seemed to cash in when we did arrive
  16. Look at the throw to Edwards that watson jumped and tried to take (and dropped) Edwards catches that pass and it is off to the races
  17. The thing with the PI call on Johnson was that it sure seemed like AB pushed off him a little right before the ball arrived and knocked JJ off balance - he had to grab on to ensure there wasn't going to be a TD if AB caught the ball
  18. I was going to say... Yeh at the start of the year our O-line was a complete mess (new center, rookie tackles, Greaves starting for the first time) By the end of the year with people healthy and with a touch more time under their belts that same line was pushing people around pretty damn good.
  19. I'm guessing those guys could appeal their suspensions to the league if they thought they had a chance at finding another team and didn't want to be sat down
  20. Right... I forgot about the trade back to Edmonton for what was essentially a free pickup.
  21. Does this have Suber/Stewart as the strong side corner/halfback (I.E. they've swapped Jovon and Stewart - Put Suber into Hefney's old position)
  22. Yeh I thought Inglis might have pushed for Cvetty's job in 2011
  23. Who has done a good job of finding an adequate QB in this league recently? Wally is the only one who comes to mind (Lulay) (You could argue Hufnagel if Tate turns out well and stops hurting himself) - Class of the league GM's Popp has been lucky in Calvillo continuing to play at a high level past 40... if Calvillo gets hurts they have literally no CFL experience whatsoever behind him (in a worse position than we are) SSK - I believe Roy Shivers or Eric Tillman brought Darian Durant in (6-7 years ago) (Both of whom are no longer working in the CFL) As far as trading goes Burris was only available to a team with a solid reliable QB willing to be a backup in CGY - So basically only available to Hamilton (you could maybe argue that Calgary would have taken Kerry Joseph, but only if someone like Glenn wasn't available) - Smart move by Hufnagel to get Glenn when he dumped Burris. Edmonton - Same spot as us or worse (Tillman ****** them - Hervey got Reilly, time will tell...) So where are we then... maybe 1 or 2 GM's still in the league have proven themselves better at finding QB's than Mack. Other than Tillman having a brain fart (nobody could have guessed that Ray would get traded for Jyles when Mack traded Jyles away... most people thought Mack made a great move with that trade) no trades were available during Mack's tenure where WPG had the parts to be able to trade for a proven QB.
  24. Gary Etch's article on the eastern division was generally pretty positive about Winnipeg
