  1. Barrett is an interesting name to me, if only because he and Willy have done some good things together in Buffalo.....curious if he'd leave the NCAA, tho....

His future with UCF is uncertain after this year. George O'Leary, the head coach, retired at the end of October. Barrett, who was the QB coach, was promoted to interim HC. The Knights have had a horrible season and are winless (0-10). Chances are he will be looking for a new job at the end of this season. The 0-10 record for UCF is bad, but I do not think it is direct reflection of Barrett as a coach.

My two choices are Barrett (experience) and Maas, who I think has a good grasp of the CFL game.

  2. I'm just hoping Davis has a good game. How he will do in MB's offense will depend on:

    A) His mobility and how he can work on the run.

B How fast he can make his reads and get the ball off.

    C) How well he can make the right read and not turn the ball over.

If he stays in the pocket he is going to get eaten alive ... eventually.

QBs in MB's offence are not allowed to leave the pocket, they must learn to be a pocket passer.

P Lirim Hajrullahu - yes, nowhere near what he could have made last offseason. I think if he can correct whatever mental issues he's having he can be good.

SB Nick Moore - no. We need an overhaul at receiver. Kohlert is probably the only receiver I would like to have back, maybe some of the other national receivers for backups.

LB Graig Newman - yes, he's a national.

QB Matt Nichols - yes as a backup QB. He ain't starting for anybody in this league.

LB Chris Randle - yes, he's a gooder.

DB Demond Washington - pass, i think it might be time to move on. I'm not really a huge fan.

DB Lin-J Shell - pass, vet backup that is all. Spend the money elsewhere.

DE Louie Richardson - maybe... depends who else is out there and/or if we draft someone at that position.

OL Selvish Capers - no, import Tackle, I'd rather have Daniels if he's healthy.

OL Jace Daniels - yes, I liked what I've seen from him when he was healthy.

    DE Thaddeus Gibson - who???

FB Michel-Pierre Pontbriand -  Yes for ST, but look to upgrade at the FB position.

RB Cameron Marshall - Yes, I think he could be an effective back when he's used.

    To the bolded... LOL

thank god you're not the GM. Washington is a fantastic defensive back and you'd miss him if he were gone and like it or not Moore is the teams best receiver AINEC. You don't improve a sore spot on the team by losing your best receiver.

Marcus Henry was Ottawa's leading receiver last year, and although he's still on the team, I don't believe he's played a single game. I don't think they miss him on the field at all.

Coupl of tweaks will go a long way. No extension for anybody unless we see dramatic improvement next year. Make em all earn an extension in their final year. I'm expecting big things if a quality, CFL-experienced OC shakes loose and we pick em up.

I agee with this.My question is, who would be the possble candidates for OC be? Who's available now and who might spring loose?

I was thinking Danny Barrett, but then I just read last week he was named Interim head coach of UCF, so maybe not. He does have history with Drew Willy when they were both at UB.

  6.

I think it is highly unlikely that Miller is speaking to anyone currently under contract. He might be talking to people that are currently unemployed or may have requested permission to speak to Dyce or Chapdelaine, since their futures are in the air. But I HIGHLY doubt that he is talking to anyone that is currently under contract without permission, and I even more HIGHLY doubt that permission would be granted.

I don't for one minute think that he is doing whatever he is doing behind O'Shea's back either. I strongly believe that MOS has given him a list of names he would be interested in interviewing for OC and would like Wade to let know of the interest. Obviously, MOS cannot do this during the season while he is chasing a playoff spot and he has to work with MB for the time being.

Read the article...it's an assistant currently under contract with a team.  The anonymous source is pissed off at Miller.

Not exactly... To me it says the source's coaches told him that Wade Miller has already talked to "a guy" about being an assistant coach for the Bombers. It does not say that guy was a member of another coaching staff, he could be... CFL circles are pretty small, it could be that the "guy" that Miller talked to knows or talks to the coaches on the source's staff. I believe there is a whole lot more to the story than just this.

Doesn't mean I think it's completely the right thing to do, but at least it hints that MB will not be back...

  7. Do the Bombers employ a sports psychologist? If they don't, they should. I know Calgary does. Do all professional teams employ one?

I definitely think it's a mental issue, which may be coming from this whole NFL thing, I don't know...

I'm frustrated because I feel he has cost us some games this year. However, I got this horrible feeling that if we let him go he'll go on to set a CFL record for another team.

  8. The score was 29-3 at the half? Stop thinking that second half garbage stats mean anything when the game was clearly in the books. Players clearly weren't happy that they were leaving Montreal right after the game and revolted.

So you're saying they wanted more time at Club Super Sex? It looked like they spent enough time there on Saturday night.

  9. Now O'shea has an excuse not to fire MB until the end of the year. Firing two coordinators mid season is pretty unheard of and would put the team into a tailspin I would think.

Exactly.... This all but guarantees MB will remain the OC until at least the end of the season... WHOOPEE!!!

  10. Morley had a good tweet last night, if I knew how to post it from my phone I would. He basically said that the Bombers will wait until the offseason to fire 1 coach, rather than fire 1 now and then fire the rest in the offseason. I strongly agree with that tweet.

I'm not usually one for midseason firings, but I'm absolutely tired of getting out coached every week. Sure we are missing some talent in some areas but not that much that we should be getting blown out on a weekly basis, and by an 0-9 team to boot...
