  1. I find O'Shea can be very engaging. He knows the answers, and will patiently give you the answers, as long as you ask the relevant questions in a professional manner. The kind of questions some of these guys ask prove they're not listening to the message or don't bother to see what's going on. And let's face it, sometimes he just doesn't have the answers right away. I think it's malarkey to assume that you're going to get answers to questions that you really, really have to know...from the coordinators. What kind of answers can they give right away anyways that isn't obvious enough already? LaPolice is not magically to give the same kind of break-down answers like on his playbook segments..he just won't have immediate answers.
  2. Sunday Dec. 20th - a fine day for site-seeing.
  3. Enjoyable game. The kind of game the Jets have to play to win. Skate, hit, forecheck. Repeat. Lots of chances, lots of missed targets. Typical Buff "being there" penalty. Lots of ice time for Trouba, Byfuglien and Myers. Don't bring up trading Myers..he looks good. Line juggling, with Thorburn handling it. That Wheeler guy is good. The young guys looked good, especially Ehlers. What flavour gum does Maurice prefer?
  4. And now would be a good time to join. They might not even notice you for awhile, they're just too pumped.I haven't seen them this excited since Uncle Ned taught them they could cut two holes in the outhouse..
  5. Looks like the Coordinators are off limits to the media again this year, They will build the team anyway they can, O'Shea beat Jones in leg wrestling, It appears that O'Shea enjoys handling the Special Teams and More.... 6. NEW Lake Poopo, Bolivia's 2nd-largest lake, dries up Climate change has boosted temperatures, tripling evaporation Thomson Reuters Posted: Dec 18, 2015 10:24 AM ET Last Updated: Dec 18, 2015 12:05 PM ET "The area has long been populated by mining outfits, which depended on the lake. For their part, members of local communities like Untavi historically made their living off fishing and other activities dependent on the body of water. With the water now gone, animals have died off in the millions, according to studies. And the local families, having lost much of their sustenance, have been forced to migrate." http://www.cbc.ca/news/technology/lake-poopo-1.3371359
  7. Farhan Lalji (@FarhanLaljiTSN) 2015-12-17, 6:25 PM Jim Popp on Thorpe: "We fully expect Noel to fulfill the final 2 years of his contract and are hopeful that he is ready to get back to work” Farhan Lalji (@FarhanLaljiTSN) 2015-12-17, 6:27 PM 2/2... Popp adds "there are no hard feelings." But he still hasn't spoken to Thorpe since commissioner's ruling today. #Alouettes #CFL
  8. CFL News CFL News – ‏@CFL_News Interesting development. #CFL #AlsMTL Jim Popp talked to Noel Thorpe last night. Popp said he still wants Thorpe back on the Alouettes' coaching staff. #CFL — Didier Orméjuste (@DidierRDS) December 18, 2015 …———— further update–——— from Thorpe:) "Last night, I had a conversation and opened dialogue with Montreal Alouettes President, Mark Weightman, about my situation with the team and future standing. After our conversation, it was confirmed in my mind that, in the best interest of both parties, our professional relationship could not continue forward. I confirmed this in writing to Mr. Weightman late in the evening. My employment ended yesterday prior to the CFL moratorium imposed on coaching movement."
  9. Yes, it might be tough to prove, but... If no evidence of mEDdling can be found, then it still leaves Thorpe with a valid contract. He has to honour it or sit for 2 years until the contract expires. If this is Thorpe's initiative, then he severely mishandled it. Is Thorpe not thinking straight, or was there an idea planted there by an outfit? I suppose if another team wants to take over that contract, then I guess something can be worked out. Montreal, in some way, will have to be compensated for their loss. This, I believe is where draft picks, or roster players, comes into the picture. If nothing is done, then the situation can continue and leave contracts virtually unenforceable. A strong statement should be made now.
  10. I think they'll have a hard time enforcing a penalty of that magnitude when they can point out that tampering is pretty much "standard practice" in the CFL. It's time for the CFL to start following it's own rules on personnel movement before the courts get involved. This certainly gives Orridge a mandate to accomplish something major during his tenure. If there is any kind of tampering, Orridge should come down hard on the Eskimos, fine-wise, and draft-pick wise. It's not as if Ed Hervey doesn't understand what's going on and is naive to the rules. The Alouettes believed they had a solid contract with Thorpe, and they did. They'll have to be compensated. Take a pick or picks away from the Eskimos and let them appeal that ruling. Fine Hervey..hard, for doing exactly what he knew to be doing. Fine the Eskimo org., because you have to. Orridge has to be tough here, and set precedent.
  11. Washington is perhaps one of our most athletic players who performs well when the team is playing as a unit. But, of course, you can say that of almost any player. He's got great closing speed and many times has tackled a ball carrier short of the 1st down marker. Along with his return capabilities, he's a good guy to have around.
  12. Is there such a thing as a moratorium (a long one) on a certain Sun writer?
  13. And there's nothing wrong with that..
  14. WINNIPEG, MB – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the addition of International receiver Jhomo Gordon. EDIT - this, of course, goes against the grain of recent trends in the CFL....signing personnel who are not under contract.

  16. CFL investigating Thorpe's resignation, potential move By Gary Lawless AND gary lawless – Verified account ‏@garylawless speaking with GMs around @cfl this morning - the state of coaching contracts is becoming a major issue 7:49 AM - 16 Dec 2015 Ok, now the CFL is going to have to step in and hammer the Edmonton Eskimos HARD for this latest infraction. Ed Hervey has no respect for the rules and probably never has. (Hello Mike Reilly) $100,000 fine to Edmonton $25,000 fine to Ed Hervey Loss of a roster player to Montreal or draft pick or both.
  17. Farhan Lalji – Verified account ‏@FarhanLaljiTSNA source tells me Thorpe had 2 years left on his contract with no out clause & no teams have asked #Alouettes for permission to speak to him 10:17 PM - 15 Dec 2015 Maybe the answer for this lies somewhere in the word mEDdling?
  18. Here's a guy who excited to get back into something he knows and loves, the hell you say.
  19. You'd have to add Mike O'Shea to that list too, then.
  20. I remember the Winnipeg plowers to be very professional in how they handled their work. Must be VERY frustrating to try and do a good job when cars are parked here and there illegally. Sure miss all that snow.......
  21. Interesting read by Darren Cameron, on the process when hiring Paul LaPolice as OC: ....he didn’t come in expecting to be handed anything; he came in to win the job as the team’s Offensive Coordinator. For hours, well into the afternoon, the trio talked football, watched film, went through the things Paul wanted to implement. He didn’t present it as ‘this is what was wrong’, but rather ‘this is what we would be doing in 2016’. Mike and Paul talked football, and Kyle discussed specifics regarding contractual talk and the more administrative side of things. Around 11:30 a.m., while the three were still mid-discussion, I received a text from Kyle; brief, but to the point: “LaPo is really good” it read. They had met and spoken with many other candidates prior to meeting with Paul, but this was the first time either had expressed genuine excitement. http://www.bluebombers.com/2015/12/15/blog-hiring-paul-lapolice/
  22. You don't mean Eric Rogers, do you? If so, you missed this... Scott Mitchell – Verified account ‏@SUNMitchell Whole lot of NFL interest in Eric Rogers. He’s got 11 workouts scheduled so far. Patriots done, #49ers up next Monday, per sources. #CFL 10:04 AM - 13 Dec 2015
